- Haven't been able to get in the water as much as normal due to running around and enjoying time with family. Had a lot of fun snorkeling, hiking., and also eating a lot of the great food we have on this island. I feel fat with all the eating and need to get back to regular surfing.
Was itching to ride one of my regular short boards even tho it was on the small side. Wanted to try out a bigger set of fins I've had and they seem to work great for my 6'3". I also so a shark! for the first time in years. It was probably in the 6 to 8 foot range and sitting just below the surface about 10 feet from me. Definitely looked like he was checking me out, sketch! I was a bit stunned and by the time I turned the camera on he swam away and I was unable to get any footage of it, I was really bummed I didn't get any footage of the shark as it's rare for me to see one while surfing.

Years ago surfing Diamond head lighthouse I saw a Tiger shark at least 15 feet and turned to the girl on my right who was on a body board "Did you see that?" The expression on her face was priceless!

Keep surfing strong bradahh... Over 95% of the attacks people never see the shark. I remember in the mid-90s when they sent Perry Dane out to find a big tiger shark with a jagged fin. Play shirtless responsible for several attacks on the North shore. Problem is they don't have the food sources close to shore that they used to 🤙🏼

I was surfing there two weeks ago in Waikiki. The second day on the island, your local news had reported that a large tiger had been spotted near the shore break about three miles from us. I was a bit sketched while waiting between sets. Then I read there was the attack right after I left. Man, that's horrible.

Brah, at least you can see em, and go to shallow spot in reef, till they leave. Where I gotta surf, you no can see, it’s very cold, and da sharks are mostly big kine…..😳😬. Looks so fun, wish I was home. If at least one person is out, then the odds are cut in half.😊🙏💪🤙

Saw a small shark like 3-4 ft in the line up at our spot on the North Shore a few weeks back. It was just cruising without much concern for anything else. Wasn't as exciting as seeing a small tuna jump after a bunch of opelu (mackerel scads).

@@NobuSurf Most are small kine,blacktips and spinner sharks 🦈 Most bites are not so serious as far as shark bites go! But bruddah we got lots of them Lmfaoo. We only see the Tigers and Hanmers in summer when Turtles are nesting. But waters usually clear then so less worries. Respect em,don’t fear em! Sharkbanz don't do anything sadly. :( I really wish there was a way to make us safer in their homes, but there just isn't besides not wearing shiny things. Maybe zebra stripe clothing would help. Zebra striped boards too.
