I just want to let you guys know what an impact your videos have made for me as a newbie I find fundamental videos harder to find! Thank you to you all for your commitment on education!
Hi YN. I'm a new tech from Israel and I just got my diplomas. There are so many things I still don't know and I want to say ...Thanku 🙏 Your videos are incredible and I learn so much from them. This profession is not easy and it needs a lot of practice and you make it easier to understand the steps and the right way to get it done perfect. Thanku all from Israel 💞💞💞
Greg, I have learned so much from watching your amazing techniques. Thank you so much. I also love young nails acrylic powder, monomer and of course the protein bond. These are excellent products.
Love your tutorials & how well you explain your tips & techniques for us. Ten years on, still learning heaps thanks to you guys - cheers, Tina, Gold Coast - Australia :)
Oh God,where in the world hav you been,I went to nail school months ago, even now I don't know how to apply acrylic perfectly,I watched thousands tutorials but just can't get it right, saw your videos today,nd I feel I don't need to go back to school again.just too much good information presented well.i wanna kiss you right now😘 I love you man,I really really do,from the bottom of my heart, why are you so good. I'm in Africa in Botswana,u just touched me with your videos, all my questions answered with theory nd practicals, you know what, just bring the exam paper right now,I'm ready🙈.bless you.
Your videos are so well explained and Im so blessed to be able to have free education from an amazing brand and amazing educator!!! I would be blessed beyond explanation to be able to assist one of your classes!!
Very informative video thank you! I learn a lot from this channel that I didn’t learn in my classes. My problem with the cuticle area is too much product which then takes forever to file, or the product running into the skin which then causes lifting. Going to try these tips out with a smaller brush on my next set ☺️
It's the same for me, too. My cosmetology school was supposed to teach hair and nails, but only concentrated on less than five hours for nails. I'm learning more from Young Nails and other licensed nail techs here on RUclips (and, yes, even from self-taught nail people who had to teach themselves about technique, prep, sanitation, etc). I value every Nail School video that Young Nails posts. 💕😘
Thank you so much for your videos!! Such an awesome teacher. Thanks for helping me- and SO many others- to advance and improve our overall skill set. Really appreciate you sharing your experience on how to avoid common mistakes! I’m learning that doing nails requires plenty of PRACTICE,. trial AND error, and RESILIENCE. I wanted to ask if you always use proper ventilation when practicing/ making videos? Do you have any recommendations on ventilation for at home use of young nails monomer/ powder? I have been using fan in window, another window open for fresh air and I just got a great air purifier with hepa filter. I am curious if this seems to be enough, and if all of this is necessary each and every time? Thanks!!!
We do have an air exchange/ventilation system in our classrooms and filming areas. It is recommended to use ventilation to keep the chemicals away from your breathing area as much as possible. When working at home, it can be a little more difficult unless you invest in an air exchange, but it sounds like you are doing the right things to pull the "contaminated" air out and bring fresh air in.
Have you ever covered green water nails from lifting when the client’s nail lifts and she glues it back down and leaves moisture inside and voilà a green nail is born?
I found my motivation again I won’t lose faith again. whew, three videos in and I already feel like a can accomplish a full set. Wow your videos are filled with so much knowledge. I feel way better now. Let’s give this nail thing another try. With more confidence I’m excited. NEW SUBSCRIBER 😊😊😊.
Hi Greg, love the information you give in you're videos. Can you tell me , why do I get pocket lifting? It is on some of my natural nail overlays, also some of my clients get it on their natural nail overlays?
Another great tutorial guys! ❣️. I love the Touch & Tickle, will always remember that. What is lovely about you is that you always acknowledge viewers replies. Thanks.
Hello.. I've watched pretty much all of your tutorial vids and i love all of them.. But i just wonder where did you purchased your training hand, or did you sell those kind of training hand? Because its really different from the 3 that i have i been looking anywhere but i just could find the same 1 that your using on all of your tutorial videos..
Great short, informative videos. All other videos ive watched seem to have much thicker application of acrylic with a much thicker arch. Is this the thickness I should be going for? Is it really going to be strong enough?
The thickness at the apex is thicker the longer the nail because that is the stress point where cracks can occur. This video was more of a short nail/overlay so not as much product was required
Haha great video!! I’ve watched so many videos by women on how to do nails, stop lifting, nail prep etc. but I learned more from just one of your videos and it helped me more than all the other’s I’ve watched!! I like your terminology too...it helps me remember important steps....”tickle tickle” haha 🤣 I will be watching some of the other videos and trying practicing again. Thanks for the help!! 💅🏼😁❤️🤞🏼
I just started nail school about a month ago and your videos are amazing and so helpful. So thank you for that. I was wondering what number your brush is that you are using ?
I find that when I file the cuticle area with my hand file I file the acrylic completely off but I’m barely touching it......I’m being gentle. Is my application too thin? This only happens in the cuticle area since it is the thinnest part of the acrylic. And I don’t like how it looks because it looks noticeable like there is acrylic missing there instead of looking seamless.
Protein bond..ahhh I'd been using the OPI Bond Aid then base no wonder.. ledges heck I was creating cliffs lawdy.. I've made a few mistakes..i did notice when I did it very thin towards the skin it did apply stay on better.. Where do I get this protein bond... thanks in advance Greg for the wonderful tutorials.
amazing !well Im new, question here lol, so you put protein bond (don't cure it) acrylic , file it ,then protein bond again and don't cure it??? and apply the gel polish straight after?.. tia
Is there any particular product as far as acrylic or protein bond that works better than others? Or prevent lifting better? Also, is protein bond the same as nail prep???? Should I still use nail prep if I'm using protein bond?
So our protein bond is great for adhesion for your nail enhancement, if you mean the slick pour prep, that's used more for cleaning contaminants and dehydrating the surface for our slick pour powder system.
Help 🚨 Can I use a nail dehydrator or alcohol or acetone to clean nails instead of swipe? I know this video is old but if anyone can answer, I’d appreciate it :) Love YN so helpful, currently waiting for all my supplies so I can start doing my own nails.
You can but it long term results in issues, alcohol deposits oils onto the nail plate causing lift, acetone strips the nail plate leaving it too smooth for an enhancement, Swipe is chemically formulated to dehydrate the natural nail plate preparing it for the enhancement
Kia ora Greg. What product would you recommend for someone who works with chemicals and water as a career choice eg Hair Stylist? ie gel or acrylics???
Their Synergy gel Gloss is a great finish gel for hair stylists it keeps hair dye and stuff from staining, its a great "seal" all the way around and then their Ultimate finish gel on top
Brush size is just a preference. Greg uses his signature brush, size 12. Tracey uses our artistic sculptor, size 9. All of our brushes are available on our website.
I noticed the final filing was pretty rough and no buffing was done, I don't buff either and my final step looks exactly the way u did it. However, my shine doesn't look as good as the nail u just did. I've used all kinds of top coats expensive too both regular top coat and top coat but I can never get that really high shine. I was starting to consider buffing before the top coat but the times I did that when I first started it almost looked even less shiny! Any suggestions?
Now I have to retry acrylic and poly Gel. I could not for the life of me get it around the cuticle and it always so sloppy. Just a hot mess so I said fuck it and went to gel and absolutely love gel. So now I can try acrylic and poly Gel again. Thank you guys so much. You always have really easy, simple to follow along and super informative videos. You guys do an amazing job 😄

Hi Greg, love the information you give in you're videos.
Can you tell me , why do I get pocket lifting? It is on some of my natural nail overlays, also some of my clients get it on their natural nail overlays?
pocket lifting can be caused by a few things, like your client jamming their nail into something. Are you using tips?

So instead of primer use protein bond? And the stuff in the bottle that you cleaned with is that Alcohol? Thank you so much I love your help!
Yes protein bond will take the place of primer. We use swipe to clean the nail, it is designed to remove oils and re-balance the PH of the nail.
