You guys are awesome! Little tips like these will make the biggest difference! I'm a cosmo who loves nails and didn't get detailed nail school education. This channel is perfect for me to learn on my own as I go. Thank you guys! And Tracey of course!!!
Seems like such a simple thing and I didn't even realize that I was doing these things incorrectly myself!! Had a snack while watching this video (yes, it's after midnight where I am, don't judge lol) and I was literally holding my fork backwards to feel the difference in those positions just with the way I had control. Blown away! Thank you so much for pointing that out! Never would have thought to change something I was convinced was so basic! What a difference!
My biggest problem with doing my own nails is making a decision on what to do. Then I get my nails done and watch a RUclips video an hour later and find something else I like! I like it all 😁
This is very, very helpful! Because I have done calligraphy, needlework, and have worked with brushes, I have very good hand control. But the e-file can be intimidating to a beginner, and I really hadn’t considered using the same positioning as with the brushes. I think with these tips, I should be able to “nail” the e-mail as well as my brushes. 🤓 TY! TY! TY!
After watching this I notice I do use my fingers to anchor when using polishes, topcoats, anything in a bottle like that. BUT, I have not been doing that with my acrylic/gel brushes. Thanks for this info- so helpful! Off to try these tips with my acrylic brush & see how much more control I have. No doubt in my mind it will give me so much more control! Awesome vid, guys& thanks, again!
I haven’t even watched half the tutorial and I have picked up my mistakes. Really!!!! From South Africa, Durban..., sooooooo wish I could meet u guys. Anyways will keep on loving u guys and waiting in anticipation for eeeeeeevery NEXT video. Love u guys MWAAAAAH
Yes , practice makes perfect ,but keep practicing the same thing the wrong way we always learn from mistakes but the videos young nails put out helps us to realize that, and with these videos help us to make it to perfection.
his was great. I am half way through a course in New Zealand and they have not covered any of this and I paid a lot for the course.. Thank you I hope you have more I can learn from.
When I first saw your video I was like , a man doing nails ?that's all I saw then but KNOW I see a strong Male teacher that I can say am learning all lot from . Thanks
All of these things are innate for me too but it’s so useful to be reminded of the importance of these fundamentals so we’re always mindful of what we are doing 🤗
Awesome tips😉!! But what if u have long nails? I tend to hold the brush between my index n middle fingers but do the finger things u was demonstrating... is that wrong?
Thank you for this video! It's very helpful. Now, I wanna ask: what happens for those of us with long nails? I see you using the tip of your fingers a lot to ensure that precision that you talk about. And I can understand the position and the movement. But I can't quite replicate it when my long nails get in the way. I would really appreciate if you could help me with this. Thank you so much for all the educational videos you continuously post!
Thanks for the tips..... when I went to OWC last year you said to always use the over grip position for efile and do not switch the hand because we can injure our wrists...but on this video you are switching your hand so... 🤔🤔 what it is correct?
Any chance you could give us (me) the same kind of tips for doing my own personal nails? I have issues with my non-dominant hand the most. I can't rest my hand on my other hand the way you describe it here.. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
it is always tricky doing our own nails, especially when it comes to our non-dominant hand. The best advice I can give you is to just try different ways of positioning your hand, find what is most comfortable for you.
I started doing my own nails and have found that you need try experimenting with your hand facing towards you or away from you. It could be different with each hand.
I’m going to practice this. I never paid attention to how I’m holding my hand, but I notice on my less dominant hand (right) it starts to ache reallly bad while I’m practicing.
I am back with another question... just so you know I am in South Africa and doing self studies in acrylic nails. You guys are my teachers...so thank you so much again. here is my question. When applying the acrylic powder to my brush, must it be pointed at the end or do i flatten it?
Why did i not see this before all those cramps in my hands?😅 I only do my own nails because i’m a beginner and waiting for my covid vaccins bedore i take any clients. The cramp with filing my own nails is 😫 The Artritis does not make it easier lol. Just shake it off, suck it up and push trough 🤘🏼😆
These are all things people learn in a course and gain experience Idk your telling us what people don’t know how to do because they’ve not had experience doing it just pointless in my opinion. Really I didn’t see the point of this video but hey any video is a video.

Doing your own nails can be tricky

You always want to smooth it out before application. When working flat you have more surface to pick up a larger bead
👍
Is it alittle different or the same technique for doing your nails on yourself? I'm just starting so I'm learning
Same technique 😁
YoungNailsInc thanks and thank you for answering
It's funny, after so long you don't even realize how you are holding your tools, until someone asks you, but as always good reminder info dude!!
👍👍😃
I have learned a ton of things with ur videos, where is ur school located?
for the time being we are doing online zoom classes. You can email ray@youngnails.com for more information.

What's the name of your drill and where could I purchase one like it??
Greg is using our YN-100 and you can purchase it through our website www.youngnails.com
I'm not seeing the price or shipment details!
Left Handed people (ME) would work in the opposite direction when Efiling, I am assuming ??..
First at last.

Rest on the webbing of my hand. Got it.
i love you if that’s okay to say
haha for sure
