I recently needed a dwarf gadget to complete the museum collection so I ran around bombing the sh$$ out of everything in the mines (floors 90+) and got three prismatic shards in the process. WTH!
I have like 10 of those, but I’m struggling to find several other artifacts. I couldn’t find the second dwarf scroll for so long. Super satisfying when you finally do find those items
Thanks!! I needed this. I have 34 and I needed to know what to do with them other than the ways I knew about. Apparently it is harder to get them this update but I just go with lucky lunch and on the highest luck day and suddenly get 8-12 in 1 skull cave visit. It took no time to get 30+ !!
seeing the lil prismatic shard shining through a pile full of other dropped loot fills me with such automatic good feelings. they're so pretty! and i haven't played enough for them to have become Unspecial to me yet... my current playthrough uses remixed mine rewards, so I was stuck using a tempered broadsword the first several times I went into Skull Caverns (needless to say, I did not get very far). So the Galaxy Sword I got with my first prismatic was obviously key-- but with a decent weapon I could start getting good loot drops, so I swapped out the Galaxy Sword for a dwarf sword I found in a barrel on a mummy level. by numbers alone the galaxy sword is obviously superior but it seems a shame for the game to have so many fun weapons, most of which you get in cool ways like loot drops from slain enemies, and never use them just because they don't have the most mathematically perfect stats available. dwarf sword is more than good enough for my needs! and eventually I'll get something else I like and switch to that instead. For now, the galaxy sword is sitting in a chest at home lol.
Fifty percent of the time I get my first shard from the Quarry at the end of year one, if I don't then I have to wait till Skull Cavern which makes runs harder since I need to use the Lava Sword.
I just finally got one from my rainbow trout fish farm, took me like 2 years. Yeah, I have a bunch more, either got the first from an omni geod or a lootdrop from the mine because I had it when I unlocked the desert. I still wouldn't use it to unlock the movie theater, it is not worth it. Ancient fruit should be one of your standard crops by the time you are ready to unlock it anyways and even if you have to wait a season, it doesn't really affect that month since you only unlock the claw game and another way to get a bit of friendship once a season. I am basically only growing 3 things now besides a few berries: Ancient fruit, starfruit and pineapple (I like pineapples). I am still selling some of them fresh since wood for more kegs still is a problem, I have 2 1/2 sheds full... So yeah, the galaxy sword should always be first. Rock candy, enchantments and Gunther depends a bit on the situation. Giving them as gifts and using them for cosmetics should be the last things you do with them once you have gotten more then 20 or so. With the rock candy, I would only use it if you have a few hundred staircases, a very lucky day and are going for Skullcaverns, don't forget to drink a ginger ale too since they stack (but I always drink it first, can't be too careful). Giving them to Me Qi is just such a waste. There are far easier way to get Qi gems like getting to floor 100 without food. Heck, the Qi beans are the easiest way to get 100 gems even though it is a bit work heavy since you need a ready sprinkler setup (or at least space and material to make a bunch of sprinklers) and more then 10 seedmakers or more patience then I have.
It's pretty similar for me, with the difference that the nr 2 on my list is the Rock Candy - 3 shards is a steep price, but let's be honest - with that buff, it's not that hard to gather even more so it basically pays for itself ❤
1. Get Magic Rock Candy from museum rewards or Desert Festival 2. Use Magic Rock Candy in Skull Caverns 3. Get more than 3 Prismatic Shards 4. Spend 3 Prismatic Shards on Magic Rock Candy at Desert Trader 5. Repeat from step 2 and profit Keep up this cycle and you'll be swimming in Prismatic Shards easily
My first playthrough I found one very early in an omni geode and immediately handed it over to Gunther, then I went and looked them up. It was over a year in game before I got another lol.
The enchantment order won't change on a new day, either. But you can test what's next for each tool by trying it and then reloading the day to see what another tool gets on that line (check the mouseypounds Stardew predictor to see how the only way to change it is line by line in the predictor table there. Unless something changed about that in a recent update...?
Unless things have changed very recently, waiting until a different day won’t cause a different enchant to happen - it’s using the forge for enchanting a different tool that will change what your next enchant is. Each game seed has a list of enchantments for each tool and any enchantment will cause the forge to move down all lists. I believe adding a galaxy soul also moves everything to the next spot on the list.
Yes, I may not have been very clear, but you are correct. Interesting note on the galaxy souls if that's true. Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching!
No notes. I save the first three I get: the desert freebie should be number one as you mentioned, I love the Yeti Tooth but it doesn’t keep up in skull cavern or volcano
Hi! There is some misinformation here. If you are not going the Joja Route, Ginger Island does not open on a specific date. Ginger Island opens once you've completed the Community Center and have donated all the items to fix the boat behind Willy's shop (these tasks become available to complete after you've completed the Community Center).
@@ladyjustice619 You are correct that GI is tied to completion of the CC, however some of the bundles (notably the foraging bundles) require specific seasons to complete. It is possible to complete the the traditional bundles by mid summer given some RNG with drops in Skull Cavern, however its far more likely that your first opportunity to complete the CC is during Winter 1 as that's when the last item required for the completion spawns (Crocus). While it may be an oversimplification I don't think it merits "misinformation".

Bro Im a first time player on year 3 and I spent about a hour hoeing around lvl 50-60 trying to find the gadget, still haven’t found it 😢
@@jovenhate Look for magma geodes on level 81-119. They have the highest chance. Go on lucky days and eat a lucky lunch.
Ive spent very little time in the mines and got two of them. You really have to hate rng! 🤷♀️😏

Rookie numbers, I got nine in a single skull cavern run yesterday

I wish they just gave us the recipe for magic rock candy
you can buy them from the raccoon wife’s shop if you have the foraging mastery unlocked
@@chinchilla724oh great! Thanks😊
Didn't know how to get galaxy sword before! And didn't know Haley hated them. Neat!

No 1 was expected 😁but I still learned some new things! Thank you
Minor spoilers? More like spoilers for miners.

Yes, this is correct. Sorry if I wasn't super clear and thanks for bringing it up.

I named my character the item number for prismatic shards… so i have a lot😂
Mine was for the legendary fish ancient seed and iridium sprinkler 😂😂😂😂
Ty for the info :)
I remember when I got my first shard the first thing I did was get the galaxy sword! 🙌

Really struggled to get them on previous saves but on my new file I've gotten 3 as monster drops in the regular mines after reaching the bottom
Galaxy Sword, Rock Candy for your next dive, then toss the rest in the box. Ginger Island isn't open till Winter 1 unless going the Joja route :D

The finding the shards is new with 1.6 though right? Cause I remember just popping in the shards and collecting Qi gems.
I think you might be right. I thought I remembered just turning the shards in before, which is why I was surprised.
Yeah I'm pretty sure that on 1.5 I could just turn them in
I have around 200 hrs in and ive just realized we can enter the destroyed joja building😑
#0 it looks good as a decoration
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 the galaxy sword was the very first thing I went for then I did the forging and then I donated to Gunter and then I dropped 4 off to qi

i just trade em with magic rock candy
surprised you were able to find 10/11 uses
The easiest way to get a prismatic shard is by achieving perfection and unlocking the statue of true perfection 👍
