  • Is your dishwasher not cleaning like it used to, making weird humming noises, or not making the distinct spraying noises it usually makes during the wash cycle? If so, it may be your circulation pump. This video walks you through the steps of how to check and replace it. Mine was a Frigidaire Model# FDB2510LCC1, but the steps should be common to most other dishwashers, too.
    Here's a link to the pump my dishwasher needed: amzn.to/2zcHPgL
    If your model is different than mine, click the link above and then enter your model # at the top in the "Parts Checker" section to find all the parts that fit your model.
    Hope this video was helpful and entertaining. Let me know if you guys have any questions.
    *Purchasing from any links above will help support my channel and allow me to create future DIY content for you.

      Sad thing is I have a 30 month old Frigidaire dishwasher with the same pump you purchased. Circulation pump motor is making all kind of noises. And looks like many people have the same issues after 24 months. I've already replaced the burnt up logic board at 18 months. Never again a Electrolux machine!

    Just wanted to drop back in and leave a comment. Explaining that this video was the one that helped me save oh about 400 dollars. My dishwashers pump broke as well and your video helped me fix it. For anyone looking for information my pump was still running however the shaft that goes from the motor to the impeller stripped out. So your dishwasher may sound normal but the water isn’t spraying inside the washer. Thus not properly cleaning the dishes inside. Anyway thank you for taking the time to record this repair and posting it to RUclips.

    Thank you for the video, I had 3 repair guys come out, two were covered by the Frigidaire warranty (one replaced the motherboard, the other replaced the soap dispenser) and then someone I paid (not worth the money at all, didnt do anything to help). Each time they ran the diagnostic cycle and heard the same noise that your dishwasher making, I told them the symptoms about how the dishes were not getting cleaned (at the time just the top arm was not moving) and the loud noise the it was making during the washing cycle. None of them fixed it and no one mentioned a circulating pump could be possibly going out. Last week, the washing cycle just stopped all together, but it would fill up with water and drain, but nothing else. Talked to a good friend who does this kind of stuff for a living but he lives in a different state, he said a circulating pump but the cost of parts and labor would be the close to just paying for a new dishwasher. Thank goodness for your video! I google “how to fix circulating pump in dishwasher” and your video popped up. Ordered the part along with a drainage pump from amazon, which cost me nothing bc of rewards points (thanks amazon), followed your video and was able to repair it myself!! It’s working beautifully now! Thanks for helping this single white girl take care of her shit! It’s unbelievable how quiet it is now! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! A hairy guys are hot, fyi!

    this just saved me at least $200! and it was the tiniest amount of hair wrapped around the shaft. Also, it was wrapped around the 'front' between the wheel and the screw holding it on. Hardly seemed like enough to really do anything, but after removing I started hearing spraying inside again. Thank you!

    Thank you. Very clear guide. I am not sure whether my problem was the quarter jammed up against the impeller, the hard bean inside the impeller, the long string of plastic in the impeller, the string of electrical tape in the impeller, the hair in the impeller, or all of the above. It works now. I only have to wonder what all that stuff was doing on my dishes.

    My oldish Amana washer would fill/drain but not run. Unplugged everything and removed the circulation pump. Surprisingly you can get to the inside of the pump just by lifting the propeller part away (magnets) and inside was black grit. Washed it - problem went away. Thanks for your video..

    Question: I notice your top spray jet isn't turning. Mine does the same. Is this normal meaning maybe it alternates or something. I have the exact same model. Have you noticed anything? Great video by the way.

  • @RRaucina
    @RRaucina 2 года назад

    According to Frigidaire, the spray arms alternate on some models. So to see one arm not moving does not necessarily mean a spray arm disfunction. Although I can't see a valve that would alternate spray paths.

    Thanks for the video and all of the information. We have a Frigidaire Gallery model built in dishwasher. Not sure how old it is but my guess is probably 10 years old or newer....Ours doesn't seem to be cleaning well either and I cleaned the inside screens, filters etc but it still doesn't clean good. I think the pump is working but not sure if it's working well enough. Maybe it's just weak. Another thing I'm not sure about yet is if the water is draining properly. Something else I still need to check. Anyway, I was really dreading having to change the pump if that's what the problem is until I watched this video. It doesn't look all that daunting. I gotta check some more things first but I'm suspecting a pump issue!

    My brother just got quoted 500 bucks to fix his Whirlpool dishwasher. Reason given by repairman was that the circulating motor was locked up and that required replacement of the whole assembly. I just happened to be working on my electronics engineering degree and decided to take a look. Well I just got done removing the motor then taking the 4 screws that attach the impeller and shaft to the the motor housing looked inside and saw some calcium buildup inside. I grabbed some electric motor cleaner and an old tooth brush and cleaned inside and around shaft and shaft seal I sprayed a little silicone lubricant inside to act as a moisture barrier and keep things spinning. I connected the motor to 110 using a cheap extension cord and some covered alligator clips and the motor spins like a top now. I first tried to turn motor by putting 110 to it before cleaning and impeller would try to spin then stop. So now I've reassembled everything after a thorough cleaning I've lubricated all the O-rings and its working as good as new. Whole process took an hour. Moral of the story when the repair guy doesn't even pull out a meter to check the motor before quoting you more than the dishwasher costs new GET A SECOND OPINION OR JUST WATCH A VIDEO on how to do it yourself. Now if i can only get my brother to run some CLR through a wash cycle every few months it'll probably never happen again.

    I was going to mention the source of the hair, but I was beaten to the punch, so lay off the guy. This was a good video, but who is reliably handy enough to remove all that stuff every couple of months to clean? My dishwasher is eight years old and did not have much in the way of accumulated debris when I performed this surgery. This repair he describes in a $400 job with a plumber. A nice new dishwasher in only a little bit more, say $800 and installing a dishwasher is cake compared to replacing a pump.
