Hello and welcome to Saabkyle04! RUclips's largest collection of automotive variety! In today's video, we'll take an up close and personal, in depth look at the very cool, 1986 Pontiac Fiero GT.
During this presentation, we will take a 1st person look at what the vehicle is all about beginning with the start up, performance data, fuel economy, the occasional track data, and build quality. Also, I will teach you how to use most of the interior and exterior features in a detailed fashion, that before, you could only get from going to a dealership yourself! Throughout the video, I will highlight key styling and unique differences about the vehicle, any available options, and of course it would not be an enthusiast car video without the good ole engine portion with rev and exhaust note with interior and exterior perspectives. A thorough tour/review of this car designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.
FOR MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THE CHANNEL SEE BELOW: In this channel you will find in depth educational videos of automobiles from all over the world, presented in a more detailed fashion than ever before. Basically, this gives the viewer the chance to view the most detailed 1st person look you can get without going to an actual dealer yourself! Every video is consistent in the way I present so viewers know what to expect in my presentations. I treat every vehicle with the same respect whether a 1960 Chevrolet Impala SS or the 2012 Lamborghini Aventador. I film all types of vehicles from past, present, and future while broadening the knowledge of the automotive enthusiast. You will see everything from vintage, brand new, exotic, mainstream, old, etc. I am very proud of this channel and have built it up from amateur videos years ago to what you see today. I wanted to share my love for the automotive world with the rest of the world. Be sure to explore the massive video variety, have fun and enjoy The Driver's Seat of RUclips!

I Have to admit the 2.8 Liter V6 on this Fiero has a potent deep sound to it and that stereo system for that time has an amazing sound :)

Traded my 86 GT in at 212k miles on it. Still ran great and didn't barely burned a drop of oil. Also, the tranny was indestructible. 2.8 v6 = legend. And that boxy interior? An ergonomic triumph with unheard-of legroom.

I think there was more to the car being axed than the sales because they out sold MR2s by leaps and bounds. And when Pontiac showed off a Fiero Concept car for the 1989 model year I'm sure a lot of people thought of holding out for it like most people did. The last year of the MR2 in 89 was a miserable 2537 in north america, then when the MKII came out in the following year it jumped to 17,606. Pontiac sold over 300K Fieros in its five year run, I'm sure with a release of a better 2nd gen version sales would have jumped up.

    • @airtec87
      @airtec87 6 лет назад +1

it out sold the MR2 in America because the import yen to American dollar conversion was terrible due to the trade economy which led to it being overpriced in the USA, but the MR2 out sold the fiero in the rest of the world. Still the MR2 was the better car in performance and reliability.

I had the 85, Five-speed, four cylinder version. I now wish so much that I would have kept it. Same color as shown here. The guy I bought it from said the clutch was "bad".......I drove it daily for the two years I had it. Others can rag on it all day, I know it was a great car....still just TWO-SEATS...remember that! The interior is very very roomy & comfortable...you sit low to the ground & see every other car around you at bumper height. I got 30 MPG around town...the handling was just fine...I never did canyon boy racer type thing. Very fast directional changes possible. The trunk is huge, full width & very deep. You can still get one very reasonable, I'd recommend an 85(First bodystyle) ...SE version Manual, V6.

Unfortunately, he didn't know how to drive a sports car of any kind, but I never complained because we always had lots of fun! Your video brought back a lot of fond memories of some of the best times in my life. I've been thinking of getting another classic myself, as I haven't had a project car in a long time and one of these GT's just might be a good candidate. I just have two questions for you though, if you always have 'more where that came from' - why not include it then? Also just once - can't we have some further adieu? You never include any, and I really want some further adieu! Just kidding buddy, keep up the great work, I ALWAYS thoroughly enjoy you reviews - you are the BEST!

Neat little cars. I had a couple 2.8 v6s and they were dogs. Then my friend bought a base model Camaro and before I seen it he was telling me about it and he told me it had a 2.8 V6. I kind of laughed I thought that was gonna be the slowest car in the world. I had had a carbureted 2.8 and a throttlebody injected 2.8 s10 but never a tuned port 2.8. The tune port 2.8 was a whole different animal from the others. It blew my mind how good that little engine jerked that big Camaro around. It wasn’t a race car by any means but surprisingly strong and fun to drive even with the automatic. I bet it feels pretty powerful in that little car. The tune port really brought it to life.

The 2.0L turbo decendant from the cobalt ss that is in the Cadillac CTS/ATS would be a great option!

Hard to do when Pontiac itself has been long dead.

ellycobra02 Would be really great. But the Corvette wouldn't like that.

@@mr.2cents.846 Hell no it wouldn't. If the Fiero was reborn (granted it be done properly), with e right engine and design, it'd be the Corvette killer

Fiero V^ starts up are great sounding, and do get upset with the little puff of blue out the exhaust, it works that way.

This one is cleaner than my 87 Gt! And i thought it was almost perfect for a car built in 87.

Always enjoy your videos and not sure if you take requests but if you ever found a 1987 or other year Chrysler Conquest TSI/ Mitsubishi Starion ESI-R that would be very cool

It's also cool that that later Pontiac radio has an AUX jack as well. It still looks like it "belongs"

just found an 88' fiero GT for $4300 locally. Has 54k miles, new leather seats, auto, gold wheels.. good buy?

I'd say that's a pretty solid deal. The tail lights alone on '86-'88 Fiero GT's are worth $400-$500 on Ebay in good condition. Parts from these things are usually worth more than the whole car in some cases.

those are really snappy little performance machines! with the Pontiac-spec V6 (not to mention the later swaps like the 3800SC e.g.) you can really make some porsche and v8 ferraris of the same era look stupid and catch them by surprise in one of these Fieros :)
