Serbian anthem played in Belgium half a century ago... Amazing.
Drina march ... Written by Stanislav Binitchki in memory and glory of Serbian soldiers and their commander Milivoye Stoyanovich Brka from second infantry "Iron" regiment "Knyaz Mihaylo Obrenovich" of Moravian divizion! Moravian divizion was assembled from South Morava fllow People and city's of Leskovats, Vranye, Prokuplye and Pirot, with Headquarter in The City of Nish.
Based on an old Turkish marching song ! Nevertheless a great tune which lives on !

They really do a great job in copying “The Shadows” style of choreography stage movements. That is very hard to do when playing an instrument. As well they have “The Shadows” sound style which was very popular with many European instrumental bands in the 1960’s. A nice set of German made “Trixon” drums in a sparkle finish as well. Thank you for posting.

The "Continental Sound" (here I would include the Shadows & Atlantics) of instrumental rock had a captivating 'Old World' and often elegant mystique that distinguished itself from the American brand that was characterized by Duane Eddy, Link Wray, Johnny & The Hurricanes, and the first wave of surf music. When listening to bands like The Jokers I am reminded of Austrian zither maestro Anton Karas' memorable 'Third Man Theme' as well as the movie (Orson Welles & Joseph Cotten) of the same title for which it was composed. Interestingly, an excellent version of that marvelous song was performed by Belgian surf band The Revelaires in 2001.

RIP Gerald Pepermans, beter bekend als drummer Danny Pepper is overleden op 25 April 2019. Gerald was afkomstig van Temse, hij heeft lange tijd een goed draaiende café open gehouden in de schaduw van het prachtige Gemeentehuis van Temse.

Drina was Queen Victoria's nickname when she was quite young. I really like this group, the drummer is quite clever as they all appear to be. I wish I found them earlier in life, better later than never! You guys are a grand sound.
this sounds very similar to greek rembetiko, check out karavotsakismata by Markos Vamvakaris, parts of the melody are almost the same

I know this will upset a few, but they are as good, if not actually better than The Shadows. They may be called The Jokers, but they were not joking.
malcolm pelling yes this was a great band!! But the shadows had far more better songs and sound! Hanks guitar sound is just unbeatable. The jokers did a great version of ”tabou” and i think it was a hit Belgium, but other then that they did not really manged to come up with enough good songs.

No need for drum mics as this is all staged for TV, with a pre-recorded music track. No amps for guitars or bass. The guy in the middle has a cable plugged into his guitar but it goes nowhere. This was more than twenty years before the advent of the wireless guitar units.

@@gregwatson8274 All three guitars have instrument cables plugged into them. You can also see the cables run part way up the wall behind them. White or light gray thin cables that are hard to see under the glare of the lighting shining down onto the floor. Very well done but the drummer does miss a roll on the snare 0:26 - 0:30. I love this band and find their videos fascinating so I've watched closely in appreciation, not to criticize them.
