My grandad worked there back in the day after being a rear tail gunner in a lancaster bomber it's be lovely to look around his work place knowing he has looked in all the cells and where he had his dinner x thanks guys

My husband works in a maximum security prison, No one has ever broken out of the prison he works at,yet. My husband works in SHU. It's where the worse of the worst are.

Solitary housing units are prisons asylum and don’t work in a system that is based on rehabilitation
I have a job opportunity for your husband , he’ll make a lot more money if he brings stuff in for the guys locked up.. if he isn’t already doing it there’s enough prisoners getting phones and all sorts in jail and it’s the guards that bring them in for them 😂

Hi Dave and Mark that was a brilliant video, great to see you both together again.
Judging from the outside appearance, I expected a dank, dark, dungeon inside. This prison was modernized quite well. The cells are roomy compared to some prisons I have seen. There are many that are much worse. I may have missed it, but what year was this prison closed?
This was never a proper prison it was originally a young efenders borstal meant to house people under the age of 18yrs old up until 18yrs of age then they would be transferred to a proper prison I have lived in dover all my life when I was growing up I had mates that spent time in there when it was active & in service 😊 it is meant to be extremely haunted with many spirts I believe as many as 10 spirts or ghosts are believed to haunt this place
My take is this. Don’t do the crime and you don’t have the same view everyday. I really don’t care what they look at everyday. They are there for a reason. They were lucky to have a window to look out from. Next time dont be a menace to society.

I've done time in worse looking prisons that aren't abandoned. Also that net isnt really to catch things the prisoners are throwing out of their cells. Its so you dont have suicide jumpers or people getting thrown over and dying

Loved this explore, I remember it being a borstal for young offenders, then it was used as an Immigration Removal Centre until it was closed down in 2015.

they have doors for the toilets? wow! not in the US lol everything is all open and visible . the whole toilet is made of metal and theres no toilet seat or lid lol

You’ve really done it this time David, this was fabulous! I’ve seen old prisons before, but never in the daylight. I was so intrigued that I’ve looked up just about everything they have about Dover Prison on Google. There wasn’t much though, maybe you in the U.K. can find more than we can in the states. Those larger rooms where you & Marky thought there were more beds, you were right. One had 8 bed and the other 6. I’ve just spent an hour watching IKS Exploration digging under the Dover Citadel. It was titled “Western Heights Dover Citadel - 5 Year Quest Digging Into A Prison”; it was unbelievably fascinating. These guys are just as crazy as you & Mark! I’ve watched the two of you go into some awfully tight dangerous places and it really kicks up the anxiety. I just try to remember that everything will be okay or else there wouldn’t be a video to watch - I had to do the same thing with the IKS Explorers video. So thank you David, that was an excellent explore you took us on, opened doors to other things. Please be safe❤
Jus think back before war these tunnels were being made around the cold war .when they were gettin shot at and kill people same thing to me as murder family .
Sad u got caught, as amazing to see history. Down here in New Zealand we don’t have historical building like England. When I traveled England ,I so enjoyed seeing such old history, what was before us and thinking what these people went through ad how hard there lives must have been. Thanks so much I really enjoyed.

I did a few deliveries to the Citadel between 2004 and 2006. I didn't realise just how big it actually is.

The man knows that place isn't going to fall down and it's going to keep the heating in no doubt he'll have a nice swimming pool and I bet his wife has got good tastes a building nowadays is built using cheap materials you get a good house you don't move this building is solid you don't get more solid than a prison😂😂

That place is huge You would not see me walking on the mesh looking down on the floor below me 😬😰. I am the worst person for heights. Operated by Her Majesty`s Prison Service Opened 1952 & Closed 2015.
Adult Male Detainees Age 18 & Older Appealing Asylum or Failed To Seek.
Had gym, library, church, mosques, multi faith rooms.. shops, laundry facilities, & healthcare unit.
October 2015 Home Office Closing Centre at End of Month with all the Detainees being Transferred to other Removal Centre`s.
The Site was then Passed to the Ministry of Justice!!

Conjugal visit rooms were the rooms you wondered what they were for
