Custom Paint for my Vintage Harley Davidson

There's going come a point when you're sitting around waiting for parts or someone else to finish their part of the project, so you might find yourself twiddling your thumbs. To be honest, I really enjoy these moments because I use them to squeeze out a project that has been bouncing around in my head for a while. In this video, I use that time to lay down some nice paint on my trusty and rusty 1965 Harley Davidson XLCH Sportster.
Watch as we go through the process from start to finish, beginning with primer, through basecoat, masking for a second color coat with line tape, laying on a waterslide decal, and finally topping it all off with high-gloss clearcoat.
Since this is my own bike, I'm trying out some new things I haven't done before, like mixing in a pearlescent into a base coat instead of the clear like usual. Sometimes being bored leads to new discoveries!
Overall I'm pretty stoked with how this paint came out, even if flames on a Harley is a little cliché.

the way this is edited is so appealing. The music definitely adds to it. That color brings me back way back to a friend that had a passat wagon in that color... I instantly had a flashback.

You definitely have the skills to pay the bills. Do kids still say that? I like the way the tank looks completely different from either side. I never tried putting the flip-flop in the base coat before I'd be interested to see how that works in the sunlight. Anyway keep doing what you're doing. Ride safe.
