Adapting CognitoMoto Rearsets to my CB750F - Worthy Upgrade or Waste?
Now that my mini-chopper is complete, I'm turning back to the SOHC CB750F cafe racer. In the big pile of parts I bought were a set of rearset foot controls and brackets to fit them on a CB750K. Thing is, I thought they were for a DOHC (79-82) model and figured I'd resell them later. Turns out that they are actually for a SOHC model and should fit my bike! It just requires a little cutting....
The rearset brackets are mean to fit a 69-78 CB750K, whereas I have a 1975 CB750F. There are a number of differences between the two models, the relevant ones today being that the parts of the frame holding the passenger pegs are different - necessitating their removal to fit the rearsets on the CB750...

Honda CT70 Chopper Assembly - the lil' chop that could - Trail70 Dax
Просмотров 884Месяц назад
After my last Honda CT70 test ride video back in May, the 'lil chopper that could' was invited to a motorcycle show in September. Maybe a firm deadline was what I needed to get this thing finished up! Even still, I cut it pretty dang close! Two days before leaving for the show I finally had all the parts and pieces painted, polished and ready to go back together. Here's how it all went down. Th...

Does my Trail70 Micro-Chopper actually ride well??
Просмотров 4576 месяцев назад
I'm gonna hop on this here 1970's Honda Trail 70 that's all done up like a minature chopper and give it the old POV spin around the block I'll tell ya these newer GoPro's with the motion smoothing would make a supercross race POV look like a boring ride to the store. That's why it's difficult to appreciate the sheer terror and thrill of riding this Honda CT70 (aka Dax) micro chopper at a breakn...
BMW Airhead Oil Changes are Hilariously Overcomplicated
Просмотров 3,7 тыс.6 месяцев назад
I've done a good bit of work on BMW airheads, but I wouldn't call myself an expert. I've gone about as far as possible into the airhead engine as there is to go, but I haven't worked on every single variation that is out there.... and there are a lot! People tend to group the whole lot of models (perhaps as many as forty) into one big cuddle puddle we like to call 'airheads', however there were...
CB750F Suspension Upgrade - Slick New Kicks
Просмотров 1,5 тыс.6 месяцев назад
It's time to do to do the wheel and suspension upgrade on my 1975 Honda CB750F Supersport Cafe Racer project! Featuring Ohlins rear shocks and a Yamaha R6 fork swap along with custom CNC machined triple trees and wheels from Cognito Moto. It has been a busy spring at the day job but I found some time, here and there, to finish up this video. Sorry for the wait :) First off, I had tires put on t...
Is Building Custom Bikes Worth It?? My Next High-Dollar Build - CB750 EP01
Просмотров 3,8 тыс.9 месяцев назад
Have you ever wondered if building custom bikes is truly worth the time and effort? After years of crafting my own, I found myself asking that very question. I'm also I'm an idiot with very little self control. I already have two large ongoing projects, the CT70 Dax Micro-Chopper, and the recently begun custom frame build for that free Suzuki GS750. So why did I go and spend a big chunk of mone...
I cut my motorcycle in half! Suzuki GS750 Custom Build
Просмотров 1,2 тыс.10 месяцев назад
What better use for a free Suzuki GS750 that was pulled out of a literal barn than to cut it in half to build my first custom motorcycle frame? Now, I've done plenty of modifying stock frames, from cafe racer seat hoops to new subframe and rear suspension pickups, but I've never gone as far as what you'll witness today. The only pieces of the factory frame I'll be using are the original neck tu...
I made Integrated Lever Perches from Scratch - Trail70 Chopper
Просмотров 48411 месяцев назад
Not much to say here! I finally fabricated the remaining bits needed to test ride my Honda CT70 chopper project. These included mounts for the clutch and brake lever, modifying the handlebars I made to use the factory internal throttle, and a few custom-made cables (since they need to be way longer than the stock pieces!) This vid is a bit more chill than usual. No music, very little verbage, a...

Nice video! Quick question, which brake master cyl are you running on your handle bar? Thanks
New Subscriber, watching from Poland :P
Welcome aboard!
Hello. Could you tell me the lenght of rear shock absorbers, possibly make and model. I'm working on r65. Thnx
They're 420mm from YSS.
Awesome video rich! We should totally do some collab once it’s all said and done. 💪💪 such a great balance between stock and custom 🔥🔥
Thanks dude! Yes, let’s chat 👹👹
However much I'd like to see weekly content from you, I like the fact that you only release high quality infrequent content. Keep that up. I'm a big Cognito Moto fanboy who uses hubs and yoke conversions from them on my BMW and old school Triumph. Greetings from Manchester, UK.
Cheers! Cognito make great stuff, no doubt. My gripes are mostly nitpicks really. Content was definitely easier when I was at the shop full time, but I'm hoping that my pace will quicken now that the winter build season is starting again.
@roodlum I didn't think you found the Cognito gear sub-par. Don't sacrifice your content quality for quantity 👌✌️
Great job. I'm seeking a CT70 to build. Let me know if you have any. Thanks, Wildman RG3 (my youtube channel)
Thanks! That’s the only CT I have. I bought it for $200 and had to replace a lot of the metal in the body! They are weirdly expensive in good shape.
Greetings from Philthydelphia. thanks for the vid Rich. i rode a cb 750 to and from a construction job i had one summer. Those rides were deeply rewarding. Love the lone ranger theme music.
Thanks, love philly! I've had a few CB750's over the years, I always end up regretting selling them pretty quick.
I just got one of these bike and I’m trying to build it into a cafe racer from the ground up. Could you possibly post a build list somewhere?
Hey, I wrote up a list of parts used - I added it to the description below the condensed 'full build' video for this bike; check it out here: ruclips.net/video/PCwwnkW58z8/видео.html
You did not show or discuss the installation of the shim.
Yeah, it’s not required on every model… which is sort of the point
I love the bike just bought one and hold up I know someone’s gonna call me a loud noise loser for it but I had to get new pipes things to quite for me but besides the soft sounding pipes this is the best bike I’ve ever owned god bless stay safe out there brother
thanks bud. Those m8 motors sound good with a set of pipes. enjoy the ride
Great job, man. 👌👌👑🥰
What a service for those who couldn’t make it! Thank you! Also, killer music, what’s the first track in this video?
Different Places in Space - I Can Do What I Want. They actually played at the show that day so I thought it'd be cool to showcase them in the video. They also play the 9th track
Bad ass. I have an '84 550 burning a hole in my garage and begging for a makeover. Do you happen to have a total build cost?
I do not, but definitely several times over what the bike was worth to begin with. We don't do this because it makes sense :)
my cat welds better, terrible welds
chapter 7 song def has me feeling some type of way. What is it? The intro, front I love that beat and second half being somewhat different, crazy.
That is 'Magma' by Gojira, great band.
I have a R65GS from 1989 and just picked up a R75/6 from 1975 four days ago. This is bringing back memories...
Hi. How is the cost for this service in October 2024 ? Please. Just to have an idea
Just a suggestion a JIS screw driver will save those screws.
This is so sick. Reminds me of what a lot of the dudes in Indonesia are rocking with. They turn basic scooters into these sick little choppers. #choppycubmc
Thanks man. Exactly, I took a lot of inspiration from bikes in SEA. They are some seriously creative folks.
Love the attention to detail on this. Those little brackets holding the backrest look ace. I feel an 8 ball hand shifter wouldn't look out of place either. Well done!
For once the RUclips algorithm suggested a top notch video! I've done lots of builds over the years and this one is amazing!
Wow, thanks!
Tebrikler
Looks exactly what I would picture in my head when you said a guy with a woman's hair bun built a "chopper"😅
lmao you should do an out-of-touch hot take about tattoos next 👍
Do have any that came with gum?@@roodlum
Hola brother, te escribo desde Argentina. Muy buen video, yo tuve una Honda CB 650Custom 1980. Felicitaciones pir la descrpción y explicacion.
gracias amigo
I just got one this last weekend, and I have no idea where to start to get it working properly
That thing is nice af
Amazing video, i liked a lot the full step by step, good music. Nice man, waiting for more!!
thank you! More to come
very impressive build man looks fun, also loved the music selection
Amazing coverage dude. You are doing everyone that didn't make it to this show a gigantic service but letting us come with you. Great angles and details, thourough, and some nice music choices. Great vibes. Thanks a ton.
Wow, thank you! That's exactly what I was thinking about when I was shooting. Appreciate the kind words.
Love this build Rich... You don't need big cubes to have a blast on a bike.
as a custom builder I admire quite a bit once put it, "bikes is bikes". Thanks!
No one I knew side kicked Harleys. We straddled the bikes. On my 63 and 68 much more stable
That's fair, most of my bikes I do the same. My right knee is a little fucked from a bike accident a few years ago so I find left leg more comfortable on the ironhead.
Ou ever finish this bike? I love the direction its going
That bike belonged to a buddy who ended up trading it away for a different bike not long after I made that video. So it goes! I am working on another CB750 right now though, it's a '75 F model and it's my own bike this time. I just wrapped up another project so it'll be the main focus this fall/winter. Here's the playlist so far: ruclips.net/p/PLurdFIhx07_b6OnCoeShcWESXD1MXw0WX
buy that vintage gumby phone
How much over are the forks? Love the look of the bike.
Thanks bud. I think they are 8” over, but I bought them secondhand so I’m not really certain
Nice work Rich!
Thanks for watching!
Great video Rich! Cool bikes, eclectic tune selection, only lacked t/a ..(jk) thanks
Thanks! I will take that under advisement for next year lmao
Nice bikes, but probably only a few are ridden.
Really looked like a LOT of them are ridden, And did you MISS the parking lot with Hundreds of Motorcycles???
Great video brother! Best one out on the show so far!!
Thanks man! Dug all the cool little details on your bike!
Thanks Rich. Catch ya next year!
Sweet video my dude!
This was the best motorcycle show I’ve ever been to. Well worth the +500 ride to PGH. Thank you guys for putting on such a rockin’ event. I can’t freaking wait until next year.
Glad you're back filming Rich.👍
Thanks! Summer vacation was nice but I'm ready to get back to it
I just came across you video, as I was searching for a solution to my problem. My R100R has a lithium battery in it and the battery dies randomly during a ride out. After jump starting it multiple time it works again. But then it happens again super randomly. Do you thing this EDL would fix that problem? Or might there be a different issue with my bike? Great video... Thanks for that! Cheers from austria!
Thanks! Electrical issues are tough to diagnose, especially on the internet. It's hard to say definitively if this charging system with solve your battery issue. It could! Lithium batteries prefer to be charged at a slightly lower voltage than lead acid batteries, but your issue could stem from a parasitic power drain, an intermittent ground connection, or any other number of issues. I'd check the cheap problems first before spending big money on something like this. Hope that helps!
Wonderful job man. Fantastic fab work!
Noice😇
why
But where can I get one?
it's a one of one, sad to say.
Why? Awfull
I have no idea about motorcycles nor do I consider myslef crafty in terms of motorcycles or cars. But this is impressive and looks super nice. If I ever get a motor licence I will surely try to get my hands on such a bike to ride. Well done.
wonderful video! do you know if the parts / flowchart is the same for my 1992 r100gs bumble bee?
it should be but don't quote me on it :)
I wish mine started this easy 😅
