  • New bike day is the best bike day! Fresh into the shop comes a 1992 BMW R100GSPD - a special edition of the typical on-road/off-road BMW GS. After a brief introduction of the bike and what makes it so special (hint: it's that dope bodywork mainly), we do a quick carb clean and pads and rotors, then we hit up the Rochester NY Distinguished Gentleman's Ride. This is the 10th year of the DGR, and Rochester alone has managed to raise over $100,000 for prostate cancer research and men's mental health. I'm proud to be a part of the organizing team for our city's ride, even if I have a rather lackadaisical interpretation of our local traffic laws.

Its meant for.... "maybe thinking about going off-road a just little bit"....like maybe winning the Paris-Dakar, the hardest off road endurance race in the world 2 years running... for instance. LOL!

Thanks! 2 years on and it's still my favorite. It's not the fastest, or the sharpest looking bike out there, but what makes it my favorite is that it is my swiss-army-knife do-anything go-anywhere carry-everything bike.

I just want to tell you that I appreciate the quality of information you put in your video. A slight mistake is the time of production. They were produced after 1995 too. The R 100 GS PD Classic in 1996 to be specific. I currently own two R 100 GS PD (one with the old dash and one with the new one like you have shown in the video.
I'd like to point out that I absolutely loved the progression in your video from the introduction of the bike to the carb cleaning and the little riding sequence at the end. Lovely video.

I bought a R100gspd classic brand new, It was a 1995 model. I am pretty sure at least in the US 1995 was the last year.

Love seeing this thing get some love! And it will probably thank you for that by being quite dependable. My dad has a 1990 pd in the exact same paint/ sticker theme here in Germany wich he bought new. Unfortunately it only has 12k miles ish. So it doesn't see daylight as often as it should.
Oh and thank you for not cutting this one apart. That would have hurt....😉

Good ear. I’m not much of an anime fan but that is one of the finest soundtracks of any medium.
