@21:00 Why don't you use the end of the Jack handle to turn the pressure release screw to let the jack down instead of struggling with pliers.😊

Just a small comment you're not a good dad you're an amazing dad and you make sure the mother of your kids is safe to take care or them regardless of your situation and how you ended up there you still make sure your kids are safe

I totally understand the situation I'm still married as well and will do everything that I can to make sure my kids are safe and their mum especially because if she is not safe then I've done something wrong and my kids not might not be safe.
As I said before you are an amazing dad and don't let anyone say anything different@@TheSelfEmployedSpannerMonkey

It comes down to the individual tester “mot testers discretion” so you could pass it, I could advise it and someone else could fail it and that’s where arseache for us starts. I’ve taken mine and a mates to the same place for about 5/6 years never had no issues for picky stuff. Last year I got advisory for tinted windows on the front, the mates didn’t, this year I didn’t get it but got it for rear high stop lamp not working even though it’s never worked and the bulb holder has snapped off the lens so there’s nowhere for a bulb mates wasn’t working either and failed on it, took his back for a retest and someone else did it and said I ain’t bothered about that one and his also failed on a sun strip that’s been on for 4 years so had to pull that off even though he’s got a sun visor as well which comes down to the same point but that’s only been on about 2 year that so it’s just stupid and a pain in the arse how it’s all different for the same thing depending on the person

That front wishbone bush shouldn't have been tightened until the weight of the vehicle was on the ground, you've tightened it in the fully relaxed position so the metal insert can't move when the weight of the vehicle is back on it so the rubber is always going to be under tension so give it 12 months and it will separate from the metal insert.

Personally I wouldn’t have bothered with the brake pipe and lower arm bush would have been an advise as I was told on MOT training that the suspension bush has a bolt going through it and it would have to be pretty bad to fail and fall out but at the end of the day it’s down to the tester. 👍

Modern washer fluids clog the motor so what I do is cut the pipe to the washer jets, then I have adapter which I can plug into the pipe that goes to the pump motor, then I put water hose on and reverse flush, when clear I put an inline adapter to reconnect the pipes and jobs a gud un,works every time

Them power steering pipes are the bane of my life I had a mk7 Transit with the same engine and was sat in B&Q car park I fired the van up and bang no power steering and oil all over the floor and up the side of all the cars around me turned out that pipe is only held into its big nut with a wire spring C clip and towards where it is joined to the flexible pipe where it has a 10mm bolt going through it's support bracket, so not only did it cost me a new pipe it also cost me a new power steering pump because I had to drive 10 miles home with no fluid in the system so it knackered the pump up because it ran dry then i alsi had to buy the pathetic green power steering fluid it called for on that system and not the normal transmission fluid other cars can use which i had loads of.

do these bottom arms regular. the inner bush seizes on the bolt. cut the ring of the arm and peel the arm out the way.slice the exposed bush vertically and chisel it off. bit of a faf but get brutal with it and they get to be pleasurable. heat helps too.

The law on brake pipe corrosion is if any rigid pipe is corroded by a 1/3 off the wall thickness which is about 0.25mm then it fails to be honest with you if my kid was being driven around in the van I would want it replaced instead of a bodged up repair especially on the braking system

On the subject of MOT’s they are like a lucky dip , the testers interpret the law differently and therefore what passes at one station could fail at another one , last year my van failed because a red reflector lense on the bumper was cracked….😳
I honestly could not believe the twat failed it because of that , he was a temp because the usual tester who is good as gold was off sick…. I shot down to the motor factors got a pair of replacements took 2 mins to change them both and went straight back for the re test , I lost half day at work because of a crack in a reflector
    It’s a fooking joke really…. 🥵

I find some MOT testers are becoming very “anal” nowadays! Depends where you go! Took a car to Halfords for an MOT passed with several advisories for brake disc scoring and tyre degradation! Following year took same car with same tyres and brakes to an MOT station that only does MOT’s (council run) and passed with NO advisories!
