Excellent explanation of the air flow and issues with keeping the engine cool. We need to find one of the lower deflectors now that we are going with a/c. The car is looking amazing. Excellent job.👍

Your 100% right, I know 2 people that have over heating problems with 350 Firebirds

add baffles on the side of the ac condenser on my c3 corvette had a problem with ac not working well in traffic and sitting still i removed the front fan and sealed it up. Im doing the same with the bird and trust me in fl we have a heat problem. on the rear fans i used relays to wire them in series with a combination of relays to get low and high speed and that really worked well

My 1968 all original Survivor 400 convertible Non-A/C has the upper baffle plates. Built in CA. perhaps west coast cars goth the regardless.
I installed a high volume water pump, aluminum Rad, 180-degree thermistat, and run 180-Degrees all summer long.

i thought the top baffles were only a/c cars, also the bottom dam as well . my bird always ran warm even with them. what ever you do dont brace he bottom pan to the radiator in case it hits something you won't damage the radiator

On my 67 400 vert they just sit vertically against radiator mount and wrap around the side, behind the headlights.
Each is held with two plastic toggles, up high through the radiator mount and fender mount. Each is also tucked to the side of the indicator lamp socket to stop it flapping around.
Hadnt taken much notice of them before, so keen to see they are correct on mine.

Your two fan setup, is one the main fan, and the other a just incase backup?

One is the standard motor cooling fan and the other is the ac fan.

Hello my Firebird brother well school is in session. #1 the two top plates are call your upper baffles. #3. The bottom one is call your lower baffle .#4 1967 and 1968 Firebird 400 cars also AC cars have them on to keep everything running cool #5 now in 1969 you're a 400 cars and your AC cars also had top and lower baffles funny thing is I have seen original 350 cars non-ac with the Lord baffle I have an original one at my house and it has the lower baffles I also have proven it before with other people having original 69 350 cars no AC and also having the lower baffle it looks like in 1969 they was just trying to get rid of them which 1969 lower baffle will not fit 67 Firebird or a 68 69 Firebird pretty special 1 year only
