It's sad how people don't want to watch talks on 'letting go'. We so badly want to be in control of life all the time. I'm trying to learn to let go off control for good.

I've watched many TED Talks videos wanting to gain something from other people's experiences. They all felt more self congratulatory than sharing something meaningful. I'll will keep watching.

Tend to agree, I also view Ted Talks looking for life lessons but it does seem that many of the speakers, though probably well-intentioned, are more invested in having a platform to air their egos.

A beautiful warm story and so true. Letting go by breathing and switching off my mind reduces the pressure I lay on myself. It gives a stressless feeling, no pressure on myself from my mind, letting go of the control on myself. Experiencing that, I understand, that not only I, but my social surrounding as well, can lay great pressure on me, from childhood untill now, the social norm is strong. I realized that I don't want this pressure for myself, I too don't want it for the other, my friend, collegae or whomever. In this world of energy giving pressure bounces back, that's natural. I live, I'm energy, so I move and give pressure, but it's my wish to do that in a harmonic way, a joyfull dance, nourishing. I realized that some (often old trauma) situations trigger me in reacting with to big pressure, on people as well on stuff. It's not my wish but my reaction on anxiety to lose control (and eventually die). Breathing helps me to quiet down, to make contact with myself, switching of my mind creates stillness, no worry's, nothing. So I can reset again. From this calm state of mind and relaxed bodyfeeling, I can get in better contact with my passion and talent for life. It's a though but great journey. I'm sorry that Insa has the urge to apologize for breathing being esoteric and explains that it's proven with hard scientific material evidence, like esoteric is not done. It's a good thing that the esoteric wisdom is returning, ancient culture qualities are great. They worked with energy more than materials, people were less materialized more energetic. We gained a lot with science and technique, to become independant, but we lost something too. Knowing everything is energy, and that within quantum physics 'everything' is possible. With material devices you can only 'messure' material stuff, that's 5% of All there is. Quantum is not material but it materializes by consiousness. So indeed, I more often put off my smartphone, internet, and tv too, it costs me to much time, and time is energy.

    Note to self:
3 things to unleash the power of letting go.
    1. Choose trust (antidote to control)
    2. Switch phone off- digital detox (switching off the outside- being lost in outside approval)
    3. Breathe- meditation (start gradually)

I don't feel that trust is the catalyst of control but fear. Trusting too easily can invite personalities, people that will see this as a weakness. Being conscience of our breath is a useful tool in self regulating but to do this without truly knowing the cause or causes, say if you are an anxious person, can exacerbate the problem.

Honking car locking wakes people up and creates Noise Stress Everywhere. We can hear it inside our homes when you park. It wakes our kids up. Please! Break the Honk Habit!! Please lock your car quietly with light flash only.

good thing she didn't end up like Christopher Reeve; a bit too "new age" and facile for me; lesson to me is that we must allow some "chaos" (less our control, allowing for "everyone has a different idea") but then you have the challenge of trying to "steer" possibilities in "good" directions; "trust" as a panacea is just as bad as "control" as an absolute, IMO

  • @jeankagian1505

No offence, Insa. It sounds like "letting go" is easier achieved when you have a paid staff to pick up your slack. So essentially, you've succeeded in delegating to competent employees (like all good managers should do anyways) and then by shutting off your phone, you walk away from your responsibilities and spend your time in meditation. If only we all had the privilege of doing so. This advice is no good to the average person working a shift. All you've done is prove that you don't need a CEO watching over your sholder to make a business run if it's set up with the right people. You meditate, other CEO's play golf. Same difference. Congratulations on figuring out how to make money while working less hours. Imagine if all of your employees did that? You got hurt riding a horse (sorry to hear). Most people ride the bus. The problem is that you're surrounded by "yes men". Give me a shout if you want to hire someone who will give it to you straight instead of BS'ing you. This is so out of touch with reality. Am I wrong?

Oh my god, the three techniques to breathe, turn off phone, chose trust? Trust in whom when you've been betrayed? Oh my gosh, could this get any more trite? I am convinced this is a bunch of b.s. by the speaker to get on a stage.
