Just found this video. This is what your PS5 should sound like: ruclips.net/video/D0l7E45szv4/видео.html No buzzing at all! If you have this issue please contact Sony for help, although it’s super hard to get through to them on the phone right now, and my support experience really wasn’t the best. Just because it’s a common issue does not make it normal!!! OG Xbox 360’s had a 50% red ring of death rate. Don’t let others normalize the issue, if anything we have to make it known ASAP so Sony can get right into fixing it.
I mean its not that noticeable where I sit when playing, about 8 ft away.... It's not something I'd normally consider an issue. Do we know for sure this could lead to major problems?
@@powerfantastic01 it most likely won’t lead to any problems, but the sound level is just barely better than my ps4 and the noise it makes is so much harder to ignore compared to a fan lol, I figure might as well try to get one in good condition considering the product and price.
@JinhosPinhole I’ve had plenty of experiences with coil whine in the past and even in my old rig with my GPU. I turned the video I linked up to full volume on my phone and couldn’t hear anything remotely close to the sound I’m experiencing with my console. I honestly don’t hear anything but maybe a slight hum in the vid I linked which is normal, but the issue I am having along with many others is more like an electrical zapping noise almost and is much different and louder than any noise the video I linked made. But I really don’t even hear the slightest bit of any coil whine in the vid I linked
@JinhosPinhole that’s one of my main theories but not entirely sure, the sound does seem to be slightly louder coming from the back bottom(if standing vertical) of the console towards where the power cord is connected. I’ve been trying to reach ps support for almost five straight days and the two phone calls I’ve actually managed to get through too both got cut off right as we were finishing up, and the rest of the time I just get cut off hold, I’m think I’m cursed lol, bu at this point all I know is that the level of noise emitting from my console is much louder compared to a “normal” ps5.
@JinhosPinhole Yeah I think I have it worse and it does come in fairly large variation I think, and I do have slightly sensitive hearing but yeah can’t be too mad as a launch day buyer, at least I didn’t receive one that bricked, just wanted to share as much info as I can to help others and so others can give advice as well.
Mine on Ghost of Tsushima is really noticeable, just put on your headphones and you cant hear it. This noise won't damage your console in the long run, my GTX 1080 has the same noise in certain games it's nothing to stress over.
Yeah. The issue appears as the power load increases and the more power being outputting, the louder it will whine. I think it's a power supply issue. Hopefully it is as that can be swapped later down the line hopefully
@@Jdogg4089 same happens to me bro maybe Sony will do a update and fix the issue I’ve noticed it gets louder when ps5 versions of games and when I play PS4 games it’s a lot quiter

I’d recommend you do the same as soon as possible. The noise is not normal and should be fixed, also they need to ship you a new box so you’ll at least have it for about a week before having to ship it off for repair
@@bumblebee24100 cheers for that, made a recording of the noise on my phone in case customer service ask etc, but got work soon so will give customer service a call tomorrow and see what happens,I just hope I don’t get in to late and sony start with the this is normal for the machine, which it obv isn’t when there is a lot of people out there with silent machines, plus might play Spider-Man mm or souls game and record the ps5 just to show how it gets really loud
@@nbkicker7665 yeah that’s a really good idea, I’m saving recording in case of that too, cause I guess my support request never Enders up going through, never got an email and did support chat and they said nothing was found so just a waste of a couple hours Hahahha. The support people honestly don’t know that much right now and will just have you do a few toubleshooting things while they research the issue. While Im a strong believer in being as nice and patient as possible with any customer support, and they’re just human beings too, but I think it’s really important to make it known that your disappointed with the issue and that it is NOT normal. Don’t let Sony or other people normalize the issue!

Damn me too
Try to get a hold of PlayStation support to send it in ASAP, it’ll take about a week to get the new shipping box and everything and best to do it sooner rather than later, it’s a total bummer, but it’s a risk we launch day buyers take, my thicc boi ps3 died a month after launch lol
