Exactly. My Iphone 15 Pro Max has 7400-7500 when it was on IOS 17 but the moment I upgraded to 18 I cannot get those scores anymore, it stays on 6800-7000 which is a bit weird and feels tricky because I expected it to improve or go back to normal which didn’t happen…
@@infinitemusic1140 If you watch Geekewan review, Apple has done some tweaking with the kernel to restrict performance in the first few seconds to help with efficiency, heat and stability, so as Geekbench does quick tasks then this will mean a lower score. But in real-life apps will be optimised for the iOS 18 tweaks.

I did see someone actually compress a video or put the iphone to complete a task and the16 pro did it in half the time of the 15 pro , not just open an app what type of speed test is this.

Interesting that the geek bench scores are lower on the 15 pro Max and the 16 pro Max on other tests. Maybe for next time to make it a fair test make sure that the phones are both on the same software because the 15 pro max is on iOS 18.1 whereas the 16 pro Max is on 18.0 so I definitely think that affected the result and which is why the 15 pro Max seems a bit faster.

These opening apps test is stupid because your dominant hand will always hit quicker and its not a controlled experiment. Benchmarks etc are irrelevant, in the real world usage nobody is going to notice millisecond differences. Its just a gimmick. I should have kept my iPhone 13 pro max instead of upgrading to 15 pro max, I saw no significant difference. Definitely not getting anything from the 16 range

The 15 is in ios 18.1 (seen in geekbench) while 16 is in 18.0 that's not a fair comparison as ios18.1 is in beta still while ios 18 is stable

iPhone 16 definitely has significantly faster storage so it is quite faster for some scenarios for sure.

Just got my 16 pro max. The bigger screen is noticeable. Enjoying it. Also have the s24 ultra. Will see which one I gravitate more towards.
