We need a drop test where you're walking through a parking lot, drop it, try to catch it, but instead somehow send it skittering, facedown, 30ft across the asphalt
Something like that happened i was running tho and it fell out of my pocket and i kicked it and flied across the parking lot and the same thing happened again 😭
He needs to do a realistic drop test by doing a drop during a partial walk so the phone gets the natural momentum drop that makes it skip on the floor like it does for everyone naturally. Partial walk and drop from waist and partial walk with drip from face.
Keep in mind, this might not hold up on less even or jagged surfaces and at the end of the day, it’s usually some component of luck involved in determining whether or not the glass will survive the impact intact
The good thing is both front and back are easily replaceable now. Display still expensive af tho. So screen protector won't hurt. Scratches way too easily anyway.
I find it hilarious that the glass is strong enough to where the blunt force of the ground will travel through it and damage the LCD before actually shattering the glass. Somehow Apple made the glass so string that it created an entirely different problem. I imagine the back glass would have broken early if not for the fact that the camera on the back protrudes and takes the entirety of the impact, preventing the back glass from ever taking a direct hit unless dropped on an uneven surface.
I thought the same thing, imagine making glass SO strong that now you have to worry about the internals breaking quicker than the glass. Absolutely crazy! I can see it now.. iPhone 20 now with 300% stronger internals, now your glass and internal oled panel will be fine. You also can now throw it off a fucking cliff and she will be fine. lol
Why do drop tests always get done on flat ground. In normal usage, you’re more likely to drop it in the street and on different materials/areas. It’s raised stones and dirt that are more likely to smash the display at any height.
I've seen people drop their phone on concrete either on road, pavement/sidewalk and either your screen will get cracked or scuffed, now depending on surface level is like yeah level of damage will vary. I've heard people get out of their car, phone falls out of their pocket and it scuffs the edge of the phone/chip the screen.
Yeah, and also depends on who drops it, I found it's more about worry and luck, I drop mine all the time, no case no problems. But I don't worry about it, and always pretty lucky, others are so worried about it, they even fear it happening. I have seen people break phones in cases, falling in the grass that just happen to hit a rock, or even on carpets. If you analyze it, many, not all of those people always have weird things happen to them, or very concerned that it might happen. Then sometimes you might even hear them say what are the odds of that! or see I knew that would happen! Some people are just way more prone to have a phone break, it's luck, worry, faith, whatever you want to call it. So I think it also depends on the person, you know there is a person out there that would drop that iPhone and crack it on the first shot...everyone has that one friend...
At least it's a repeatable test. What you described is just complete randomness. Obviously a uneven stone ground is much more dangerous than this surface.
Very strong phone but for resale purposes I put a case and glass protector. My iphone 15 pro max that is getting sold has no scratches at all. Looks brand new even with few accidental drops in the last yr
resale value? have you looked at apples trade in credits vs what the resale values are? they are neck and neck. Also apple doesn't give a shit if it's a scratched up or not just as long as it works. take of your case and let your phone breathe, when its time to get the 17 just trade it in my guy
@@TrevorATX Apple credit, It's shit when you pay lot of money for an iPhone and then following year and value drops dramatically. The trade in has become bit of a joke now especially where I live. I've seen people get slightly more money when reselling it privately.
scratches have nothing to do with resale value. Your phone could have a knife ran against the side, rubbed against rocks, keys threw around the screen as long as it works right its worth the same as one thats fresh out the box.
@@skyshade9106 The highest trade-in value is for phones with no cosmetic defects at all. Next comes phones with minor cosmetic damage, but no problems with phone functionality. The more noticeable the cosmetic damage, the lower the trade-in value. And if there is any issue with the functioning of the phone, such as a cracked screen, the value goes way down. So you are very wrong my friend
This video was extremely interesting and PAINFUL to watch 😂😂. I have a feeling it would have survived the drop from the chair had it not been dropped so many times before.
Dropped my 14PM from pocket height on asphalt , it fell flat in it’s face , the display was shattered, the phone was dead , it had a case and screen protector on it, 😂😂😂
The fact that so many people haven't even received their 16 pro max while my guy is out here destroying it 💀. Props to you and apple for making a strong iphone that they claimed. Keep it up bro!
I’m still waiting JerryRigEverything to butcher both IPhone 16 Pro Max and Apple Watch Ultra 2 black for some serious scratch tests and see how the titanium casing stands.
Same, drop tests are very important but I want to see scratch tests as that has been my only issue with the 13 Pro. Next time a screen protector goes on day one!
U can use protection for that . While having phone with almost same the size . durability comes with this kind of things . Toyota Hilux scratch .but durable
Apple really weren’t lying about the durability of their Ceramic Shield, not gonna lie the slow motion sounds of the iPhone 16 Pro Max (which I’m getting today), makes me shudder lol.
tbh though tile that you were dropping it onto isn't the same as if you dropped it on a footpath or the road where we would most likely drop it . The tile has a bit of rebound to it
Great video to know that the new 16 Pro Max is tough. Just subscribed to your channel. I’ve wondered with these tests that if you repeatedly drop it from waist / head height, rather than from a higher height each time, will that still cause the phone to crack after the 5th/6th etc time. I have thought that the drops from smaller heights might still be damaging/ weakening the phone but it will only show after the repeated drops.
Bro please say that you bought care plus otherwise i will gonna cry😢 thanks for the video you showed us the durability first on whole yt i think so but upset for your loss😢
That’s actually insane bro. Never seen a drop test turn out so well. I’d have to say the surface your doing it on has to play a part but either way that’s impressive
Good video. Only thing I can lightly critique is when you were showing the damage, you were more so showing yourself and not the audience. Every time it looked like you were headed to the camera, you ended up backing further away. Try to get some close-ups of those “little scuffs” next time, and it will be a 10/10 video.
Thats a good test overall, but dude, at least try to show to damage to the camera and try to get the camera focused on the phone, also your voice volume is constantly changing and goes from too loud to too quiet and it's infuriating. One more thing that there's no LCD panel on iPhones for quite some time, they have an OLED panel which is not an LCD.
It would be great if you did a realistic drop test by doing a drop during a partial walk so the phone gets the natural momentum drop that makes it skip on the floor like it does for everyone naturally. Partial walk and drop from waist and partial walk with drop from face.
Can you please test it on a tar road. or rocky surface? All my phones got damaged to a tar walking on the street. Your surface is smooth compared to on the road.
Could do a follow up test of the same nature but testing cases and screen protectors perhaps. They cost a fortune these days and would be interesting to see comparisons on what you get for the money to protect a $2k plus phone in Australia. Cheers mate 👍
Need to see the damages up close and visible. Maybe a top camera with phone on a well lit table The dynamic range is a bit tricky on the space/ patio you are filming on. Just SUBSCRIBED , beautiful stuff.👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾

i won't need one of those 'military-grade' cases then lol just cosmetic and glass screen probably lol. You definitely solidified apple's claims, made Apple look good and you are crazy for the testing but it's was awesome for you to have the balls to do it this early lol
Why is it that the second an iPhone is released, you’ll see videos on videos of it being put through every test imaginable? Yet it's so hard to find even a Pixel 9 XL Drop Test? 🤭😆
