I was using the RM1 since Kickstarter and was waiting for the colour ReMarkable. Immediately purchased during the RMPP announcement.
Always been nothing but impressed with the RM1 and remarkables support for all devices.
The RMPP is a massive update and I can't say I have anything negative to say about this new device. I will definitely be keeping it.

As a happy Boox Note Air3 C owner, the colours on the Remarkable look amazing. I would 100% buy a more open version even with the flashing. I just need the android apps unfortunately. Here's hoping Boox is able to get those colours and backlight off brightness in their next device. 💸💸💸

Well I got it. It came. I've been playing with it. And after years of playing with all different kinds of eink devices, I have to say. This is absolutely the most gorgeous of them. I've dealt with the flash before on other eink devices.
    I've dealt with gallery before.
Frankly, it doesn't fit any of my use cases except for doodling and drawing on paper and some reading and filling out PDF form books..
It's definitely not the field notebook.. and I don't care.
    It's gorgeous .
    It's fun to play with.
And for pure paper replacement e ink joy
    it's absolutely my favorite device.
Who needs productivity.. it's the ultimate writing/drawing toy.
And I love how photographs look on it
    so there
No need for adulting in one's second childhood

I was looking forward to this product, I want a e-ink tablet to use for note taking (currently I use an iPad mini, it is a bit distracting) and for some sketching. The rMPP has too many “small flaws” for the price, I think I will go for a Kindle Scribe next time they are on offer, it is difficult to justify a rM when you can get a Scribe for less than 300€ if I don’t care about color

I think that’s his end game when it comes to reMarkable. I really like Kit, its you are making a lot of videos and money off the views of this device and have an affiliate link to get commission off the device. I don’t know but I’ll watch but something in my discernment tells me there is more to all these remarkable dislike videos….

Kit has his own particular opinion, others are available! I don't think theres a reason to be as cynical as the comment above but Kit certainly does seems very hung up on some things (like the colour flashing) that others like myself really don't mind at all. Personally I love my rMPP and find it a massive upgrade from the rM2. But I also love Kit even if we don't seem to love the same stuff on this occasion!

I would double the @ThePookaHarvey comment "Kit has his own particular opinion, others are available!" . Kit made many videos recently about RM PP, overall, those videos allows to in-depth understand all the respected features and lay down the Pros and Cons of this device, nothing else. TBH, I don't pay attention to any kind of links in there provided below the video, i just focusing on the actual content of the video, and the content is Objective - meaning any statement presented on the vids is supported by the respected video representation and arguments provided by Kit , it's not just "it's bad just because..." , or smth like that.
If anyone has concrete examples of the Not objective opinion presented in the Kit's videos, please give the exact reference for that, because I have Not seen those here.
Other than that, those are just simply not needed speculations, while the videos presented Does provide the Objective view on the product provided - RM PP. Thanks.

After watching a lot of reviews, I decided to go with the Boox AN3C. While the color on the RMPP is stunning, I want searchable notes as a project manager, and I wanted to be able to have some book/library apps along with a basic web browser to read newspapers or even download the apps. For the cost of the RMPP it should do more. But admittedly I think it is gorgeous.

Sir, it would be lovely could I send you on a journey for finding an OCR Soft (win, Linux) that could extract our handwriting outside rM-universe. Although I like the rM-OCR-quality I sometimes feel "unsecure" since I don't know where and how rM is doing that on hone hand. On the other hand I would like to be able to train that SW onto my handwriting. Would youi mind?

    • @KitBetts-Masters
      @KitBetts-Masters  Месяц назад +4

@@penguin272 Hiya, yeah, of course. I personally think the best handwriting recognition is Supernote, partly because it does it offline, and partly because it does it in the background of you want it to, so all of your notes are automatically converted ready to go.
I don't think it particularly learns your handwriting, but they are pretty well optimised now and generally, with a little car over your writing it'll get 98% of words right.
Also, it's worth noting that generally the big companies like Ratta, Boox, and Bigme all use the same handwriting conversion package, so they are all pretty much as accurate as each other.
      Cheers, hope that helps.

I don't understand some of the negative comments here about your recent reviews on the Pro. You love Remarkable tablets, the 1, the 2..., you have said that in past videos and the reasons are the same as mine, they have got for many years the best writing experience, or drawing in my case (and yours), and I think you are making some valid point in your recent videos. I do not nitpick on something if I don't like it in the first place, if that was the case I would ignore it. I just would have kept that beautiful screen but kept the Wacom emr pen support, the new pen looks very good but it lacks a side button that I use a lot on on Rm2. The bigger size doesn't bother me; I think Rm2 screen was big enough but I would get used to this one with time. Keep up the good work, and I hope you show us how to make some art with this! Btw, when you have time, could you show us how one of the Blacksad comics looks on the new screen? I think the muted watercolors of that comic book would look great on it.

the guy is transparent, and he shows the device in close up usage, he is entitled for his own opinion based on his needs, people do send him questions, and he do the best in answering them, trying the devices based on request.
He can't make reMarkable look better than what it is, and honestly it's a disaster in my opinion, it took so much publicity that people who want to get into ePaper would think this is the best the market can offer, and leave with bad experience for many, which hurt the market and the development of epaper.
Boox are very useful devices, they have the best reader for PDF, they have an enhanced note taking experience, allow to do productivity tasks like email and more, allow you to read articles on the browser with less eye strain, people like it an appreciate it, nothing wrong with that.

RPP is simply disappointing right now with how they treat users like children who need someone to make decisions for them on what they need in a device. Kit seems to need flexibility in his devices and currently Boox is the only company that offers that experience. Kit has highlighted multiple things he finds impressive about the RPP and is being really fair in his views.
