Wynton knows how to hire and get the most out of a rhythm section. He's not just a genius, he works harder than anyone alive to make the music happen. What a legend.
Oh my Gawd... this is an experience!! I had goosebumps for 8:15 minutes!! Wonder how Wynton and his fellow musicians felt after this?!!! Thank you for this tremendous video!!🎼🖤
I watched this concert on TV... The tremendous heritage and tradition giving authority to that magnific septet. I watched them live some years after in Barcelona... They threw us back to old dayd and Satchmo should be smiling in heaven for sure!. This is classical music.
This is the best thing that I have seen but the music is just the business it really does not get any better than this play this when I die and I will be a happy man!!!!!!
Oh wowwww.. I love this so much!! Good ol' New Orleans tunes are amazing. I played this with my jazz combo, but of course, we didn't sound nearly as great as you all. You guys have such spirit! Whooo! 😁😁
You gotta listen to this kinda stuff in person!! Woooah, Nellie!! ...'bout to get the Holy Ghost!! One of the original music styles created in America by black Americans. The blues and jazz...
Thank you for uploading such a high quality version of this master performance. I love how they step aside for the solos. That drummer is sloppy, in a real good way.
What an immense intimidating crowd! Not a jazz one, but very supportive nothertheless. Wynton and co playing like it's nothing ..I notice some of what they played did cather to the crowd. 🤓✨✨🎺
These young people love a 90 years old song by Jelly Roll Morton! Incredible! There are still youths with musical taste. The only thing I was missing was some young ladies undressing to that bluesy tune.

I think it's one of the best live performances I've ever seen
I think the great Mr. Marsalis just saved my life. Again.
Wynton Marsalis has never lost that classic New Orleans feel, yet it is not just an attempt to copy the music of the 1920s. Truly great.
True New Awlins jazzzzzz. Wynton is keeping the old school alive 😎🎺
Only the greatest can do that. Playing the blues in front of the thousands people and move them.
Unbelievably brilliant. GODDAMN
Wow. A new comer to the blues. Never thought that these sorts of instruments could be so heavy and take it so deep.
Wynton always knows exactly which color and timbre to use for each part of each piece, and he always *nails* it.

I remember to watch it on the TV those days, the concert for a free Chile at last. Wynton's septet was gorgeous!!... Blues all over the world.

Thanks! The joy of jazz as in the early 20th century.
Chile has an epic crowd!
Man...Today is sunday. I had no time to go to church. When you watch this, you know God exits, for real, absolute faith🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
BRILLIANT
I watch this youtube at least once a week and every time it gives me goose pimples especially when the crowd joins in.
I met this guy I have a picture of him in my living room. With all that's going on in the world I love to see people unified. May you be blessed.

What beautiful music and great masters. Can't have enough of it. Looking forward to the concert in Ann Arbor, Michigan in Dec.
THANK YOU!!!
Wynton will be recognized as the most expressive horn ever.
Damn, how many people in the crowd.. awesome show
How rare it is for jazz players to play to a crowd that big that’s rocking to their groove like that. Probably rare even for Wynton.
Wynton said that this presentation in Chile amnesty concert was his coronation!!
Masterful work on this!
I watch you everyday
If I’m not mistaken the guy on clarinet is Todd Williams. I remember him from TSC NYC
Young people learn from music, specially blues, history of pain and solidarity!!!!
Straight up gut bucket music..love it!
Lol the crowd looks more fitting to be a rock concert
It was an Amnesty International concert, included Sting and Peter Gabriel too. 1990.
Welcome to Chile
You should study rocks roots 😏
@@jude999 ok ! 1990 wow ...
That is rock. Lol
HERMOSO
Imagine if this many people showed up to a jazz combo playing now a days
A lot of jazz combos are just too boring.

In the tenors solo he mimics the crowds chant/cheer and plays it back to them.
Wildly exciting ❤

My Mate Jon Bauman AKA Bowzer Had Wynton And His Gang On His Show Years Ago
whoever dislikes this should be banned from youtube...
Maravilha de som, viva o blues, viva a música africana, viva o ritmo ! 💕

This might be one of the dirtiest songs I’ve ever heard, such solid musicians
When people actually appreciated and supported real music

Who will be the next jazz group to open for a big pop name?
🏵️😃
I wish I could play this song on the trumpet
