And this is why I buy my vehicles 3 years later. That's when most of the leases are coming back so they usually only had 1 lease owner and they are generally maintained well. The issues have been raised and generally fixed in those 3 years and most importantly, that insane price tag when it's new is no longer a problem because they depreciate to a reasonable point by the 3 year point
I've owned my 2021 XC90 Recharge for 3 years / 23k miles with ZERO problems (other than the charge cord needing to be replaced). Not even so much as a squeak or rattle. Great car so far.
FINALLY a car reviewer who knows what he's talking about! I watch a lot of car reviews from guys like Doug Demuro and their assessment of cars is based on limited and short-term aspects like ease of infotainment systems, cupholders and driving experience. These cars can look better, drive better, have more interior room and seem more upscale than the likes of Lexus and Acura. But many car reviewers either ignore the reliability aspect or are not knowledgeable about them from an engineering perspective. Any vehicle can look good for the first 2 years. It's what happens after that period that separates the pack. Amateur car reviewers (which I would consider Dough Demuro as one) are easily smitten by the "bling" factors that these vehicles have.
Doug DeMuro is first and foremost a car enthusiast. His scoring system is biased towards cool, modern enthusiast cars typically with lots of features. He sometimes emphasize that in some of his videos. In fact, he even mentioned that reliability is not even part of his personal top 10 priority list. He occasionally reviews typical commuter cars. He likes it for what it is but we all know he’d never consider owning one. Another thing is that I don’t agree that Doug is an amateur car reviewer. He owned more than 30 cars by far throughout his entire life from manufacturers across Europe, US, Japan and Korea and that allowed him to have credibility in his reviews.
Owing 30 cars doesn't make you a car expert. With today's technology, any Tom, Dick and Harry with a video camera can do a car review. I find Dough's videos entertaining but would never make my purchasing decisions based on his opinion. @@melv1n_official
I'll give you one. It's a 6,000 lb suv with a 4-cylinder 250 horsepower engine. Do the math. Its severely underpowered and will be stressed out, meaning will need repairs under 100k miles. The 450 is worth the money but costs 90k. Thats why all you see are gle350s sitting at lots. People give em back. Imagine that your new Mercedes is struggling to even overtake without flooring it. Garbage.
I own one. It is a fine suv. Merc have had this 4cyl for many years. I had it for 3yrs now at 25k mi, and has been trouble free. Yea it’s got no v8 under the hood but is adaquetly powered. Mercs are heavy and brakes wear out fast tho.
I love my QX80. Had it for years. I definitely recommend getting a used one that is 2018 or later. You will be getting a very reliable car for cheap that looks and rides good and can last a long time.
Talking about QX80, The Nissan version is called Nissan Patrol in the Middle East, one of the favourite SUVs in the Middle East. It even outsells the Land Cruiser. So, yes, I agree that QX80 is one of the most amazing large SUVs I have ever driven.
@@SilverH1can you give me a link to that truth where patrol outsells land cruiser? Because I remember Toyota had to stop orders due to the fact that they couldn’t supply enough of lc300 in Middle East.
That's funny - I hear see some reviewers who talk down about the QX80, but I always hear owners chime in and say only great things about it. Value vs. Reliability. Just drive around and see how man OLD Armada and QX56/80's you see. I see them all over the place which tells be they last.
I’ve had in total 2 Range Rover Sports and 2 Land Rover Discovers, each for over 5 years - I NEVER had a days mechanical issues with ANY of them. Everyone still wants a Rangie when )they grow up’…..
Thank you for taking the time to review the vehicles. Makes buying decisions better and less stressful. Whatever happened to the competitive nature of companies making their best vehicles. There are too many models. All companies should focus on only 4 to 5 models only. Your best SUV, your best truck, your best sedan, your best compact, your best ev, your best hybrid.
It’s nice to hear someone who knows what they are talking about, and not just reading something while mispronouncing names constantly. As a car enthusiast, these are exactly the cars I would have put on the list. I thought it was brilliant to point out that if you have to have a GM, avoid the Escalade and go for the lesser models (which are the same suv) and avoid some headaches. Very true. My advice, if anyone care, is only buy old school. GMs only through 2006 and Ford SUV’s are excellent through 2014. Never anything from Land Rover, volvo, infinity, Nissan or Chrysler (including Jeep). Toyotas are hit or miss, but mostly hit. Honda’s can be great but they don’t make big suvs. I have a 2012 Lincoln Navigator with an old fashioned v8, And a “92 Toyota landcruiser with a straight 6 and 300,000 miles that runs perfectly
Thank you for your accurate review!! I knew LandRovers had to show up on this list as I was watching and eagerly awaiting. I own a LandRover LR 2013 that has been the worst vehicle that I have ever owned in my entire car history. I'm donating the vehicle to charity and would never give it to anybody in the family is how bad it is. I love the external appearance of the LandRovers only but will never purchase this brand again. These are just some of the problems: the running front headlights bulbs (both right and left) would go out every 3 to 4 months that cost $200 for each bulb at the dealership, the heater blower motor went out and the air conditioner stopped working, the steering wheel leaked fluids multiple times after getting it repaired, the brakes squeaked after getting new brakes/struts installed at the dealership ( I was told by the dealership that the brakes squeaked because I didn't have genuine LandRover brakes/struts installed. I only had repairs done at the two different LandRover dealerships. What the hell!!! I had to get major engine work done that cost $4,000+., etc..... The repairs total cost just as much as I paid for the vehicle. Goodbye LandRover and Hello Toyota/Lexus.
Toyota Corolla has been the best car so far that I ever owned and only got rid of it after 12 years of ownership because I wanted an SUV. LandRover lovers only lease for two years and turn it back in quickly, lol......
My Dad owned many Land Rovers in the 1960’s and 1970’s because there was no other 4 wheel drive vehicles available in Newfoundland Canada at that time. ( English colony ). These were the most unreliable vehicles that we ever experienced. Never buy them unless you are a mechanic yourself. But they look good !!! RS. Canada
As a previous owner of 2 Range Rovers a 2014 and a 2018 vogue it is weird🤔, it is solidly built with the highest quality in everything yet it still breaks🤦, it doesn't seem to unintentionally break almost like it's made to break⚡, one example being if you get an engine problem and fix it (even that is wierd) you will most certainly get a gearbox problem afterwards🤷, ask any landrover owner and they'll say the same, i just thank god i had warranties with both.
My sister is on her third Range Rover, all three have had major electrical issues (2 Evoque & 1 Discovery) but continued to get them because she wants the “status” but is currently looking for different brand no longer wants to deal with unreliability
@@msk3905 I don't understand the status in overpaying for junk that will break. I see a lot of these in NYC and I feel sorry for the owners. Some of these look older than 4-5 years and I can't imagine their repair bills.
bought a used 2010 LR LR2 for 16k with 53k miles or a baby rover. They stopped making it so i go it on the cheap. I use it to commute now but no more issues than other cars: Has 150k and is doing okay. It may fall apart tomorrow but so far feel lucky. I asked my independent LR mechanic what the most reliable LR is since they have a bad reputation. He said the one you are driving. I had a good laugh on that one. Wouldn’t buy another though.
I would like to know the definition of “reliable” from you. For most cars you mentioned “not reliable” but what does it mean? Could be much better if you have given us 2 or 3 examples of what is the reliable in this context? Is it number of faults? Is it number of returns? Is it number of repairs?
How can you say there is a performance problem with the Aviator hybrid? 500 HP and 600 lbs of torque gets you to 60 MPH in 5 seconds! We bought one of the 150 built in 2019. We drove it across the US multiple times and everywhere in between with minimal glitches. The biggest problem was a module that knocked out the safety stuff related to the active cruise control that knocked it back to old world cruise until we got it home. It almost got broken into at a nice Marriott in front of the office! They never got inside but damaged the side of the door frame. 25 other cars on the lot were nailed including 10 national guard trucks there for a seminar. We plug it in every night and drive it most days for errands and day trips around town. It’s wonderful to only fill it up every 6-8 weeks! Since we only pay 9 cents per KWH for electricity fuel is almost free! We get average 23 miles on electric then 24-27 in city with 32 on the highway at 75 MPH! Not bad for a 5800 LB car! My wife loves driving it even in a 50MPH crosswind. She only has to use two fingers. Don’t get me started on describing the fantastic seats with 32 different seat settings and of course, massage functions. Sound? 22 speakers. Enough said.
It's not 500 HP and 600 lbs. It's about, does it start every morning and what are the yearly mechanic bills PLUS what's the resale value in 3 years? And that's what makes almost every American car, a piece of junk.
It’s a shame that Jeep - one of the most storied brands in American history and a truly original and iconic line of vehicles - makes this list, but it’s a fact! Jeeps have a lot of recalls,
Range rovers are very reliable once obtained new. Ive had 7 of them and as long as you have them within the warranty you will find them extremely dependable.
Previous Land Rover owner here. It’s just not a car you buy for its longevity. Buy it, drive it then switch it out after 2-3 years. If it has 80,000 miles on it…don’t bother. The repairs are no joke and it is consistent alright …because it consistently breaks. Those eye popping repair bills are in the thousands. It’s a premium smooth ride…till it ain’t no more 😂
People won't pay 45k for a car that is unreliable and has bad ratings. But you double that price and slap on a luxury badge on it and people would say it's a work of engineering wonder. Same goes for looks. You take an ugly car and people will say it's ugly. You slap on a luxury label on it and jack up the price and people will say it's beautiful. Smh.
I don't think it's generally true. People who can actually afford luxury brands still have a wide range of personal opinions of design/product/look and they certainly aren't inflated by brand logos - remember it's still a competitive market. A good example is BMWs - their SUVs and performance machines are getting more expensive year after year, but a good majority of luxury brand owners, many of who long-time bimmer owners themselves still despise the new hideous design. Honest truth is admiration for 'luxury bedge' usually comes from those who can't really afford one.
@@stop_lying_bro I've spent time in luxury vehicles. Yeah some have really nice interiors or have performance. But still doesn't change the fact that most people wouldn't pay like 150k for a G Wagon badged by Buick. And it wouldn't turn heads and have people drooling over it. People would call it an ugly box with no thought put into the design and who would pay 150k for a Buick? And if it's unreliable people would definitely not want it. But since it's a status symbol everyone wants one.
I drive a new Q7 and someone recently asked why it’s considered luxury when a loaded has comparable technology. I drove in a newer Telluride and was surprised to see it had most people of what my Q7 does likewise in a VW Atlas. So what actually defines a luxury vehicle today?
Great analysis, thanks. It's really a shame that we can't find any comments from the people who design these cars!! Not a single one of them steps up and explains what happened, what went wrong, what is the plan to improve the product, etc. This happens with motorhomes, boats, etc.....
Same here, GLE driver. I do not believe what this guy speaks. Bad quality, no reliability, persistency?? Benz sells billion wehicles in Europe and arround the world, I personally drive the brand 30 years and many people I know, never ever heard about passing warranty issues. I changed 6 so far, one had 500k (GLC) miles on it but you cannot recognize it.
Ive watched your videos in the past for the small to mid size SUV to buy. You mentioned the Mazda cx5 was a good reliable suv to get, so i did and its a great suv no issues runs great!! Its a 2020 and has 50 + thousands miles on it. Love ur videos and will always go to you 1st before buying ❤

Smooth, reliable, big for hauling and now sporty with the eco boosts……it’s a winner…..just wish they would make it less of a box and put a rugged looking front end on it……2001, 2005, 2014, 2017 Ford Expedtion Limiteds.
My mother in law drives only Jeep Grand Cherokee’s. They fall apart constantly but they keep buying them. All 3 of their children (one being my wife) own Outback’s and they see how well their Subie’s hold up, but I suppose she’s a glutton for punishment. We’ve told her that Jeeps are now owned by Fiat, which is a Stilantiss product, but she Loves her Grand Cherokee’s.
There are many consumers who are like this. They love the feel, the look, or whatever else it is, but are willing to put up with potential issues and depreciation.
@@ocasioangel I’ll be honest in saying that I don’t really check! But I live in the country side, and the closest town is about 22kms away. And we go there for everything. We our an Audi family owned several currently have 2 but we typically buy the extended warranty and get rid of prior warranty ending. However thanks to Covid and cannot find the modal with options and color she wants my wifes A4 is 8 years old and i can say we have had no issues beyond normal wear and tear.
Haha, you weren’t kidding about the Range Rover. No bigger automotive headache exists. Although it wasn’t reflective of my own marital situation, the RR “experience” became so bad to the point of being laughable, such that I actually wanted to post a big sign on the roof of mine saying, “Get even with your ex,; buy her a Range Rover.” LOL!
A lot of SUVs you would never get off a paved road in. That's why so many go for the Jeeps. Not that they'll tackle the Rubicon Trail, but it is designed to put up with some rough roads. Far too many are just glorified station wagons, and are treated as such. Really surprised you included the large GM SUVs. Other than some issues related to the cylinder deactivation in their V8s, they are quite reliable and they can't seem to build enough of them.
My 2020 Porsche Macan S is a thrill to drive and has been Bullet Proof. I have never been so happy with a vehicle and I am 60 years old, owned all the Asians and domestic. None of previous vehicles can hold a candle to my Macan
When I started my vacation in Maritime Canada, I was given a 2023 Grand Cherokee that didn't have a lot of mileage on it. When I returned it 2 1/2 weeks later, I vowed NEVER to not only buy one, but not even accept a Grand Cherokee as a rental again. Even if it's a free upgrade! For such a pricey vehicle, it drove like a truck on the highway where it sometimes felt like you were fighting it to keep it in a straight line. It was noisy, the infotainment system was a hot mess and confusing. The electronics were quirky with the electronic parking brake having a mind all it's own. The gas mileage was terrible, and the interior had a very cheap feel to it. I was never so happy to get home to my Nautilus.
I disagreed with the conclusion on the Cadillac Escalade. I currently own one which is absolutely the best SUV that I’ve ever owned compared to other GMC SUVs like the Dinali and BMW X6 M50i.
I stayed away from RR because of the reviews until my wife wanted it. No issues up to 15K miles. It has the most solid, luxurious ride of any vehicle I have ever driven. I also have a Grand Cherokee L Outlander, as a backup snow vehicle, with 28K miles and zero issues. I wanted a Lexus LX600 but the tech is still years behind.
Most who complain never owned one let alone sat in one. And others buy them expecting to run them cheap and skip proper maintenance. That's when problems start and they then sell it off to someone else to deal with.
I bought a Mercedes GLE 400D AMG on 27th January 2023 , I gave it back after 4 months for a full refund because it was under six months old and the main dealer is allowed one chance to fix the problem for a vehicle that is under six months old in the uk. Problem came back again so I got my money back. Having said that my 2019 BMW X5 which I part / ex for the GLE never had any issues in three and a half years I owned it.
I didn't even know infinity was still in business as you never see advertising anymore and the vehicles were crap years ago. Have you ever seen one two years after being doldrums they are full of rust. I wouldn't buy any vehicle on this list that's for sure.
I have a 2021 GLE 53 and I love it. Everything he talks about is post warranty on a poorly maintained car. My E300 sport still runs like new post warranty. Don’t believe the hype it really depends on the owner and how the car was treated that makes a difference.
For the Japanese to be so tech savvy, they definitely don't put it into their cars. Toyota and Lexus definitely leave a lot to be desired as far as technology.
New unproven technology is useless if not reliable and using customers as a Guinea Pig doesn’t sit well with me. Lexus / Toyota won’t touch it until they fully understand what it is, how it works and how to make it reliable. That’ll take about 3 years. Or do you prefer having your car in the shop half the time, and a huge bill waiting for you to slap you in the face. If something goes wrong on a long trip, add expensive unplanned motel stays for as long as it takes to fix it.
The number one, on the list, the most problematic one, is also the most beautiful of them all. That is a sad bit for me as I would love to own one, but I’m afraid of all kinds of problems that may come with it. The Land Rover
Exactly! I'm about to purchase my 6 BMW suv next year.... but have always admired the super cool looks and feel of a Land Rover. But as much as my heart would love to own one, my common senses won't let me. And it's a serious struggle. 😆
I’ve owned a 2018 Volvo XC90 T6 Momentum for the past 5 years and I love it. I’ve never had any mechanical issues with it and I love the fact that it’s the safest car that I can put my wife and grandchildren in. My daughter is graduating from college this year and she’s going to stay in the DC area to start her life and I’m going to give her our XC90 and my wife and I will buy a 2024 XC90 or EX90. It’s the most beautiful SUV on the market along with the full size Range Rover. It’s spacious, comfortable and reliable. I don’t know what this guy is talking about!!! He’s obviously never owed one. If you love your family, buy a Volvo XC90!!!
Seriously considering a BMW 2024 X5 sDrive 40i. I’ve talked to several BMW X5 owners, and from all the reviews I’ve seen or heard it sounds like the BMW X5 is first in it’s class! Any thoughts or comments?
Reliability is the endurance/dependability through time. After 3 years most of the cars are still OK, even the Chinese (still called Swedish) clunkers.
Life is too short to drive boring cars. I owned lexus rx and mbenz gle both are troublefree so far for 4 years of ownership. Guess it’s all depends on your pocket $$$ 😝 want reliable car just buy corolla or camry for life😂 and bring it to your graveyard
By next year you'll be seeing that one has more value and no one is telling you not to by them if you can afford the problems the video is for people who dont know the value of these vehicles and probably want to buy them outside lease or keep them for a long time
Another one who agrees with this list other than the QX80. For the last 30 years, I have had 1 Tahoe, 1 Yukon, 1 Yukon Denali, 1 Escalade and 2 navigators (one being the previous body style and one being a 2019), and a QX80. In my experience, the worst of the bunch was the Escalade and GM’s refusal to correct obvious flaws. The newer Navigator was gorgeous and comfortable, but at 68,000 miles it needed CAM phases replaced for the third time and was literally falling apart. So out of all the above, the QX80 has been the best overall. Don’t get me wrong, it’s an older platform, but just because something maybe old doesn’t mean it’s not good. It has a naturally aspirated V8, is quick, quiet, comfortable and I enjoy driving it more than any of the others. No start/stop or cylinder deactivation to muck up the engine, no turbos, no high stress at all. It’s simple, proven and just works. I do agree that asking 90k for the top trim Sensory is a little on the crazy side, but you can’t touch the top spec LX, Navigator or Escalade for at least 40k more. However, gently used (I’m talking 1 year old, less than 5k in miles) you can get these for mid sixties, which, for that amount of money, might just be the best value out there. On paper, both my Escalade and navigators were far better than the QX80 in every conceivable way. However, once behind the wheel, the experience was the exact opposite. There is just an a not easy to describe quality to it that doesn’t show on paper. Talk to owners. Almost every one that I have talked to or seen on the forums, think this is an incredible vehicles. Countless people have owed 3 or 4 all with very high mileage and minimal repairs. One other thing to note is my experience is with the top of the line sensory trim. That is the only trim that has the hydraulic body motion control system. From what I have read, that vastly improves the ride quality, thus some of my remarks may not be as applicable to the lower trim levels.
My neighbors bought one of those without asking for my input and it broke down for the first time when they were driving home from the dealership!! It was downhill after that.
@@jjgreek1 I agree. The Touring models of the Outback and Forester’s are luxurious. My Forester Touring is just as nicely appointed as my mother’s Lexus
Not one BMW on the list. BMW seems to be doing a way better job of making their cars more reliable. To top it off they even have a very high owner satisfaction rate. They are still expensive to get serviced, but because of their high owner satisfaction, and Consumer Reports rating I took a chance and bought a MINI. BMW also improved their reliability and owner satisfaction. I still know when the warranty is over and it needs to be serviced, the cost will be high, but right now BMW seems to be doing what few European car manufactures are, and that is not only making a car that is fun to drive, but one that spends more time on the road and less at the dealership being serviced.
@@bigmacdaddy1234give it another 10k miles and you will be replacing the engine. I have a friend who replaced hers in her 2019 at 63k miles, and the replacement engine went bad 30k miles later (she didn’t pay for a second one). These cars are sexy, but they are junk.

@@bigmacdaddy1234 Yeah, that’s possible. But come on. Those engines have a bad reputation for a reason. There is ample evidence that they are unreliable.
To be fair, a Grand Cherokee is a great weekend off-roading vehicle, the best in the business (well, Jeep in general.) Just buy an extended warranty ;-)
If you are going to buy an expensive car you would want better reliability then Jeep statistically offers. They are good when they work, but its very aggravating and expensive to always having to have it fixed and that is more prevalent in Jeep then what is expected in general.
My friend’s dad has had a 2010 RR Sport (235k miles), 2018 RR Sport Supercharged (100k miles), a Discovery and now a Defender (second one since he had the V6 then traded for the V8 when it came out) and has never had any major issues. The 2010 needed air suspension fixed and the cooling system got replaced (hoses, water pump, T stat), but really that’s not bad for 235k miles. Maybe he just got the maintenance done on time since he had the money to bring it to the dealership for every service, but really they were all very reliable.
@@shiberino8413Modern LR models are in fact more reliable than their reputation among people who never owned one… Have now put almost 200k km on my RR from 2016 - runs like a clockwork without any issues 👍
Once you purchase expensive car, always expect expensive-car maintenance as well. Otherwise, settle for offerings from the Japanese or Korean manufacturers if you prioritize reliability and longevity.
Lexus is a counter-example of what you declared. By default, any generalization is stupid, therefore is preferable to abstain from making one. Korean cars cannot be placed near the very reliable top Japanese cars, most of them are lemons.
@@melv1n_official, the most important car KPI's for smart men: reliability, TCO, longevity, function. Thus, top 3 is pretty clear (even for the Consumer Reports): Lexus/Toyota, Mazda. Looking at their ratings, Kia/Hyundai are far away from the top Japanese brands. Despite some decline, even Honda/Acura and Subaru are better.
Range Rovers, LOL. My dentist bought one brand new and it spent the first 6 months in the shop. He got rid of it while it was still in the shop. So what did he buy after that? And brand new Jaguar, which also spent the majority of the year he owned it in the shop. Now he owns a "G" wagon and is looking to get rid of that as well. The "G" wagon is at least reliable, but he doesn't like the rest of it.
I see a lot of positive comments on XC90 & I own one too. It has been amazing so far with not a single issue so I don't understand the reliability data from where its coming?
Surprised !! that 2 Mercedes Benz it’s on the lists and no BMW. My whole family use only Mercedes over the decades on different model, in-term of reliability we give the Mercedes 100% reliable and they infotainment is always up to date. But However thank you for the nice video,it’s really enjoyable to watch
Are we still on the same subject? Through we talking about reliable!! However, the taste is different but these day on my generation, we’re thinking about reasonable over the look … but however!! Mercedes Benz is looking cooler and richer anyway 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I had a Range Rover Evoque. Great car to drive and I loved it until things went wrong. Maybe it was my dealer, they weren’t the greatest in customer service. However after having an issue with the passenger seat splitting at under a year old and being told it was wear and tear, we had to fight to get it replaced. We even went to Range Rover head quarters with our fight. It took over a year to get it fixed and only because we took it to the BBB to report them. Once fixed I drove it straight to the Audi dealership and traded it for a Q7. I’ve driven Audi ever since. Their customer service makes it hard to go elsewhere and I do love their vehicles.
When it comes to the European brands, I don’t think reliability is the biggest aspect per se., but the astronomical repair costs, if something does need to be fixed. I am on my 3rd Mercedes brand-new E-class wagon (currently the 2022 E450 All-Terrain Wagon) and never had any repair situation (changing tires, wiper-blades or brake-pads excluded) with any of my cars, and I keep them for the long term (10+ years). I do take meticulous care of all of my cars.
Nissan (or Datsun in Australia) used to have a good reputation for value and quality. Nissan should just copy Mazda. Drop the CVT's and go a bit upmarket generally dropping the premium SUV's etc. with a new face-lifted range. You don't need to be Elon Musk to see they have issues to address.
Went from AUDI Q7 to Range Sport. Never had a problem with either. Had Audi 5 years Range Rover sport 7. I have not a clue what to make of this, said kindly. Im honestly shocked. I’ve heard MERCEDES were bad. Mixed reviews BMW. My LEXUS.s OMG.. Can’t even. Gave Audi to relative who drove it few more years. Land Cruisers are known to reach 300K plus miles with just routine maintenance.
Volvo XC90 is owned by a Chinese company, hence the terrible built quality and low reliability. It's a crappy car, my colleague is suffering for the 6th month in a row trying hard to sell that shit.
Would like to see the data backing these claims...I have own XC90 since 2018 84K+ and no issues. I agree on the Range Roverhad to be taken back to the dealer far too many times. Dumped it before the warrantee ran out.

I guess you Americans won't get ti but goo to know you can spot garbage when you see it. Now for the advice just don't buy an SUV. They are always overpriced gas gusling tanks that can't even go off road like they used to in the old days. Get a proper car.
Had a certified Range Rover. Dealer could not fix any of the issues I had with it. So don’t buy Range Rover unless you buy it new with factory warranty. And set aside lots of time for repair work. Lol
I got my 2020 F-Pace and my friend brought his Defender 3 years before, Both zero problem till now, I worked for automotive applications more than 18 years, To be honest , JLR made sport SUV and real off-road SUV, just like British makes all car always for fun,. So...both of us got our fun car.......BTW, I had a 2006 mini cooper Checkmate (R50).....A real fun car...Although the brand belongs to BMW but manufactured in UK still, Finally I have to say, different drivering request makes you different viewpoint, this is why we need more different car maker in this world.....Just for fun otherwise driving is too boring.....
I am not an Infiniti fan, but your analysis of QX50 is entirely wrong. First of all, this is not the smallest SUV of Infitinti. Second of all, I have kept it in the past. It is a highly comfortable and smooth SUV that is extremely balanced at high speeds and has a well-refined and proven VC Turbo engine. It's also not very noisy. The engine is smooth, and the SUV seems to be floating while driving. I agree that it lost its market appeal due to outdated technology, but I liked this SUV. If I compare it with a BMW X3 or an AMG GLC43, which I have also kept, I would say that the BMW and Mercedes are better in many ways, but the QX50 is more reliable and trouble-free. Jeep is not a luxury SUV. These days, many consumer SUVs are touching luxury prices. That does not mean that they have become luxury SUVs. Also, GM's SUVs are some of the world's most unreliable SUVs, especially Taho and Yukon. By the way, Taho and Yukon are not luxury SUVs so a person who is out there to buy a luxury SUV like Cadillac would never go for Taho or Yukon. I have one last suggestion, I think GLE is not that bad that you would put it at number 2 of SUV avoidance list. In my opinion, it should be replaced with BMW X3 30i.
For now, the QX50 is the smallest crossover that Intiniti makes, along with the QX55 (they're on the same platform). It used to be the QX30 which they made with Mercedes-Benz, but that has been discontinued.

And this is why I buy my vehicles 3 years later. That's when most of the leases are coming back so they usually only had 1 lease owner and they are generally maintained well. The issues have been raised and generally fixed in those 3 years and most importantly, that insane price tag when it's new is no longer a problem because they depreciate to a reasonable point by the 3 year point
it's amazing how much some of these things depreciate. Some of them are half price 3 years later.
Yep, just buy an extended warranty and you’re all set! 👍
very smart 👌
In all reality buying a new car is never a wise move.
How do you know the car didn't get flooded? Where do you find a sound car coming off its lease?
I've owned my 2021 XC90 Recharge for 3 years / 23k miles with ZERO problems (other than the charge cord needing to be replaced). Not even so much as a squeak or rattle. Great car so far.
23k is barely broken in. Get back when you hit 50k+.

2016 xc90 180,000km. Has some engine , sensor issues but was easily repaired. Otherwise a great suv.
My Lexus gets 230k miles and still runs smoothly. You should talk about reliability when your car hit 200k miles.
Volvo Owner not concern at all
FINALLY a car reviewer who knows what he's talking about!
Except he doesn’t go into details. I don’t disagree with him, but he should support his “rating” with details, not just general statements.
Demuro first blew up making videos about how unreliable his Range Rover was…….
Woah ive had RR for 7+ years now and ive never been happier
You have the GLE on your list without pointing out any particular issues that cause it to be unreliable
Give it time, 25k and 3 yrs is still under warranty :p@@joo02
I love my QX80. Had it for years. I definitely recommend getting a used one that is 2018 or later. You will be getting a very reliable car for cheap that looks and rides good and can last a long time.
Talking about QX80, The Nissan version is called Nissan Patrol in the Middle East, one of the favourite SUVs in the Middle East. It even outsells the Land Cruiser. So, yes, I agree that QX80 is one of the most amazing large SUVs I have ever driven.
Of course they show at least a 3 year old model or older for the QX80.
I love Range Rover. Lease Only if I could afford one.
And I saw a pig fly once. No, really, it's true...
I have a good friend who was buying a new Range Rover and he had problems the first week so he returned it lol 😂
I own a 2017 XC90. Only gone to the dealership for scheduled maintenance. No problems at all.
My friend had same year model engine blow up at 170tkm. 14k€ damages
On the bright side, a lot of mechanics have a good source of income.
Hahaha Hahaha Hahaha Hahaha Hahaha Hahaha Hahaha Hahaha
I have a 2012 Lincoln Navigator with an old fashioned v8,
And a “92 Toyota landcruiser with a straight 6 and 300,000 miles that runs perfectly
What about Chevrolet cars are they any good ?

My sister is on her third Range Rover, all three have had major electrical issues (2 Evoque & 1 Discovery) but continued to get them because she wants the “status” but is currently looking for different brand no longer wants to deal with unreliability

bought a used 2010 LR LR2 for 16k with 53k miles or a baby rover. They stopped making it so i go it on the cheap. I use it to commute now but no more issues than other cars: Has 150k and is doing okay. It may fall apart tomorrow but so far feel lucky.
I have a 2020 BL and have only had software updates. 43k and going strong.
It’s a shame that Jeep - one of the most storied brands in American history and a truly original and iconic line of vehicles - makes this list, but it’s a fact! Jeeps have a lot of recalls,
Not comfortable. I’ve had 5 through out my life. They are tough. But always something wrong but it’s a tough vehicle.
Smh.
Yeah right they would rather pay $100k for an unreliable car, I see countless Range Rovers on the road.
Spend some time with proper Luxury vehicles and you'll learn it's not just a badge or status. We tend to criticize the things we don't understand.
I own a 2023 GLE 580 and it’s had zero issues. Now I can assure you that once the warranty runs out, it will be traded in.

As a proud owner of a land rover range rover, i can affirm the land rover is number one in this list

With all the BAD talk about Alfa Romeos and Maserati, the Stelvio or the Lavante isn't on this list. That is why I bought these cars.
Just bought a 18 Volvo XC90 like 6 months ago and so far no issues!
I hope it treats you well! 🤞

I have a 2019 Mini Cooper convertible with 40,000 miles. Not a single issue to report.
They won't usually make it that far... Usually run over peeps and end up in storage, or smashes into dividers. lol
@@bigmacdaddy1234give it another 10k miles and you will be replacing the engine. I have a friend who replaced hers in her 2019 at 63k miles, and the replacement engine went bad 30k miles later (she didn’t pay for a second one). These cars are sexy, but they are junk.
@@UnlessRoundIsFunny Wrong. I am part of the Mini Club in my area and there are plenty of Mini's with 100K with no engine issues. The gen 3 Mini's 2016+ are bulletproof. As for your friend, she didn't change the oil frequently enough.
@@bigmacdaddy1234 Yeah, that’s possible. But come on. Those engines have a bad reputation for a reason. There is ample evidence that they are unreliable.
Is just relability report enough to put xc90 into this list?
To be fair, a Grand Cherokee is a great weekend off-roading vehicle, the best in the business (well, Jeep in general.) Just buy an extended warranty ;-)
If you are going to buy an expensive car you would want better reliability then Jeep statistically offers. They are good when they work, but its very aggravating and expensive to always having to have it fixed and that is more prevalent in Jeep then what is expected in general.
Lexus, Audi are my choice for luxury. Otherwise, I would stick with Honda or Toyota.
And after watching this, i bet given a choice all 30,000+ viewers would still take the Range Rover , we all want one at some point.
@@shiberino8413Modern LR models are in fact more reliable than their reputation among people who never owned one… Have now put almost 200k km on my RR from 2016 - runs like a clockwork without any
issues 👍
I have never wanted a Range Rover, and I will never own one. I don’t understand the appeal.
you mean toyota land cruiser, yes, definitely.
@@codincoman9019 Sure, there are exceptions since there are several variables to be considered.
@@codincoman9019 if you want luxury and reliability go for Lexus and have peace of mind
That’s why I love my BMW, even though people always say it’s the worst with repairs which I have yet to experience in my 15+ years of owning them.
Basically all the luxury vehicles then? They all have the same issues it sounds like “reliability”. Quite redundant if you ask me.
The Aviator wasn't recently introduced, it was made about 8-10 years ago, killed off and the current model is the second generation
I see a lot of positive comments on XC90 & I own one too. It has been amazing so far with not a single issue so I don't understand the reliability data from where its coming?
I had the Glb , the grand cheroke and the volvo in the past 4 years. YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY SPOT-ON WITH HOW BAD THEY ARE
Surprised !! that 2 Mercedes Benz it’s on the lists and no BMW. My whole family use only Mercedes over the decades on different model, in-term of reliability we give the Mercedes 100% reliable and they infotainment is always up to date. But However thank you for the nice video,it’s really enjoyable to watch
BMWs are a great drive…Mercedes is old lady fodder
Are we still on the same subject? Through we talking about reliable!! However, the taste is different but these day on my generation, we’re thinking about reasonable over the look … but however!! Mercedes Benz is looking cooler and richer anyway 🤣🤣🤣🤣
THMS, if it's not a Toyota/Lexus, Honda/Acura, Mazda or a Subaru there's a high probability I'm not buying !
No complain at all for my volvo xc60 t8 after amost 100.000 km. It surprise me that i see xc90 in the list
I will stay with my 4runner it's a beast
Best car reviewing yet! New sub thanks so much 🎉
Much appreciated!
The Range both that and Audi one of first have white exterior black interior black rims. That was the only problem on the Audi break dust they said continually made rims dirty. Range Rover Sport you put it in SPORT ON HIGHWAY. It feels like it just glides you look down your doing 90 but don’t feel it.
Because it’s a myth that BMW is unreliable. It also comes with a warranty if something does go wrong.
I somehow got a QX80 as a rental when I ordered a small CUV, it was a boat and the touchscreen was an absolute disaster. Basically useless due to performance issues.
This was nice video, but can you make a video about other cars like Dodge Hornet 2024, Chevy Traverse 2024, Chevy Trailblazer 2024. If you have time please do the video about those cars.
I am very lucky to own the Most Reliable and best SUV on the planet, my 2020 Toyota Land Cruiser. It has 28,000 miles on it, I bought it new. People told me I was crazy for paying what I did for it, but looking at the cost of the piles of crap SUVs in the video, I made out like a bandit. Land Cruisers are known to reach 300K plus miles with just routine maintenance.
You can always tell a moron when they favorably compare a Land Rover, Range Rover, etc to the venerable Land Cruiser. 😂😂😂😂
Your analysis was very helpful!
Thanks
Acura, Audi, and BMW seem like good options,
Yes right about the Range Rover engine with out at 60,000 mile I had to pay out of pocket 36,000 to fix it
Volvo XC90 is owned by a Chinese company, hence the terrible built quality and low reliability. It's a crappy car, my colleague is suffering for the 6th month in a row trying hard to sell that shit.
Awww man I’m really considering an Escalade. I ordered a Navigator but after 10 weeks I’m becoming impatient!
QX 80 has updated in 2020 oe 2021 but using old V8 should be very reliable
Would like to see the data backing these claims...I have own XC90 since 2018 84K+ and no issues.
I agree on the Range Roverhad to be taken back to the dealer far too many times. Dumped it before the warrantee ran out.
We will paciently wait for your review, when your XC90 hits the 100K miles.
Am happy BMW X5 & X7 is not on this list, also Porsche Cayenne
I have got a suggestion for you from down under - first the joke - why the difference between a porcupine and a city dwelling Range Rover Driver? - The porcupine has the pricks on th outside.
Lol
Agree my Range Rover evoque a lot problem I won’t buy Range Rover again waiting for next year buying Porsche cayenne 2024 now booking
I’m glad that I’m the exception 😄. I have 2023 Range Rover and it’s The Best SUV I’ve had. Amazing car
I have been driving a Volvo XC90 for over 2 years from new - not a single issue to date!
Love your videos thank you 🙏🏽
So, Mr Everythingsux, which luxury SUVs are good?
I did own an infinite 2001 truck.
That truck never stop running..
The most reliable suc i ever have..
Thanks was looking at GLE or XC90 but after this video bought a MDX
It used to be the QX30 which they made with Mercedes-Benz, but that has been discontinued.
infiniti is just garbage. no question about it
He mentions Jeep is not luxury brand, maybe you didn’t hear it.
Have I been lucky with range rover sport had my 2014 five years done 81000 miles only problem broken earth wire behind wheel arch and rear diff seal still drives nice
Rx350 Lexus if you want a trouble free luxury suv , I have had 3 and never had one problem. Resale value is great.
Does reliability only qualify Range Rover to be the first? So, ignore it's exceptional off road capability and luxury
Appreciate your advices!
