    We had a local TD 11KV-S for sale. I'm crying because I didn't have 700 bucks handy. Oh well, I live in Nebraska so another one will turn up soon. I need an electronic kit in the basement... one day. Loved the unboxing and demo, guys. Have been wanting to ask about the Band Geek Studio kit forever anyway. Search for answers and you shall find them.

    • @DrKFC69
      @DrKFC69 6 лет назад +1

      Wendy The Runt I agree. This module is getting too old now. There needs to be a replacement drum set next year, either a TD-16 or 17

    • @blewyd
      @blewyd 5 лет назад

      They won't upgrade it their "upgrade" is the new td17. The TD11 won't change and will just get lower in price over the years.

    Question: When you connected the drum kit to the computer, did you have to install the drivers so Pro Tools would recognize everything correctly? I ask because, I connected my TD11k to my mac, however the hihat and one of the CY8 are not recognized as they should when I'm using the midi connector. I know it's just a midi thing, but anyway.. good to have some advice from the PRO's :) Big fan of your work man, you rock!

    • @RichieCastellano
      @RichieCastellano  6 лет назад +2

      Arturo Rojas I never installed any drivers. We connect to the computer via MIDI.

      kashyap desai this is late but I'd say 6 ft by 5 ft . that's what I measured when I wanted to put a raised platform under it.

      James Dolby I'm not Richie, but what do you mean by footprint?

    • @Louie_n_Poppy
      @Louie_n_Poppy 7 лет назад

      I mean how much square footage.

    • @Bmxicano2
      @Bmxicano2 7 лет назад +1

      You need at least 5x5 feet . 25 squared feet. I think that's plenty. I remember measuring because I wanted to make a raised platform for it. you can adjust the stand making it narrow or wide, so that changes your measurements.

    Aside from the kick pedal, did you have to buy any additional stuff or customize the order? The descriptions on MusiciansFriend and GuitarCenter's websites lists some of the mounts under "Optional," but seems like it was all in the box for you.

    Great setup! I just love the way you've set the kit up. Have you ever tried hooking this kit up to superior drummer? I'm considering buying this kit!

    • @joshsaloka2788
      @joshsaloka2788 7 лет назад

      Hi Thomas. I see your question was a couple of months ago, but I have this kit and I use it with Superior Drummer and EZ Drummer 2 all of the time. The sounds from Toontrack beat any drum module in my opinion. Hope this helps!

    • @thomasmathews7206
      @thomasmathews7206 7 лет назад

      Thanks for your response Josh! Awesome man. That's exactly what I'm intending to do as well. Superior drummer has some ridiculously good sounds indeed. That being said, have you ever played on an Alesis DM10? I was thinking of getting that and changing the skins (maybe) since I'd just be hooking it up to a VST. Any thoughts on that?

    • @joshsaloka2788
      @joshsaloka2788 7 лет назад

      Hi Thomas. I'm not too familiar with the Alesis kits, but I don't see why that wouldn't work. I have heard that Alesis has come a long way with their products. I've just played Roland and Yamaha kits and I do believe Roland is the leading brand in electronic drums. I actually have the Roland TD-11KV which has all mesh heads with the TD-25 module. I added an extra tom since the TD-25 has an extra pad input. If you plan on triggering drum sounds using Superior Drummer you can pretty much use any kit you want. I would just recommend getting a module that allows you to expand your set. A lot of them only come with one extra input or none at all. Good luck!

    • @RichieCastellano
      @RichieCastellano  8 лет назад +1

      +Rodrigo Medea In my opinion, you should definitely buy the CY-13R. I bought one and I love it. Otherwise the bell doesn't behave properly.

    3. Does the set come with everything you need?

    • @RichieCastellano
      @RichieCastellano  7 лет назад

      Earthy Vitawin I'm assuming you can use it with 220, but you'd need to specify that when you buy it. I don't know I'd it'll fit into a case, but it does come with everything. I just decided to buy the extra ride cymbal.

    So how do you get a bell sound on the ride cymbal? It appears to only give you a sound for the edge and body. That's no good.

    • @RichieCastellano
      @RichieCastellano  8 лет назад

      Agreed. I ended up buying the better ride trigger with the separate bell. It's great!

    • @mrsayang
      @mrsayang 8 лет назад

      I bought the TD-11K aswell in Dec 15 and I did Not know that the bell of the ride was unusable. So I bought a 3 zone ride of Roland which has the bell. That is ok, because I use the old cymbal as a second Crash or Splash. I don't like the rubber pads and are upgrading already my kit to complete mesh pads.
