The fact that there's no official way to buy this game anymore is a crime. I really hope Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon is the start of a neverending stream of HD 3DS ports in the Switch's last years, and that Uprising will be included in that. I haven't lost all hope, but it definitely seems pretty unlikely with the way Sakurai is talking about it
I bought Kid Icarus : Uprising 3D with the collector box for 120 dollars on Amazon and it wasn't a already used or oppened game ! Expensive but I NEEDED that because I lost my game, and I did the same I bought a New 3DS White model for 300 dollars lol
this video really hurt to watch. kid icarus uprising is one of my favorite games of all time, so all those ""teases"" and ""hints"" sakurai was dropping on his youtube and twitter really got me excited and hoping that i would finally be able to play the game again after all these years. i'm still going to hold out hope that it'll happen at some point just because it's easier on my heart that way, but man. this sucks.
My daily fantasies consist of Light vs Dark and Free for All on Switch but with a much higher player cap, new maps, and smoother online. Alas I guess that's not going to happen. Even so I have a brother who won't touch this game because the ground controls confuse him. And it just sucks how many people are screwed out of such an amazing title when the Switch really could have given it the chance to be all encompassing.
I love this game with all my heart, and I'm in EXACTLY the same boat with it single-handedly propelling the franchise to a personal all-time favorite, Nintendo or otherwise, despite Uprising being the only entry I care about. It also single-handedly made Pit my favorite Nintendo protagonist simply for how much personality he has. I mean it was basically no competition at all in that department. EDIT: It's also my single most replayed 3DS game by a country mile.
I love Kid Icrus Uprising...I played it back in 2012 and 2013. Unfortunately I can’t find the cartridge but I’m sure its at home. I hope to find it and play it again

I just really wanted to see this game with really good graphics, because while it looked good for the 3ds, the hardware really limited this game from shining in its true glory, especially because of how much goes on the small 3ds screen
And imagine what the online community could become, once the graphics for the Light vs. Dark are no longer so overtuned to take up your entire screen. Like, if it got released on the switch, i bet an actual, publicly known competitive scene would emerge.

I literally have my 3ds specifically for Kid Icarus Uprising. It is also one of my top favorite games that I have ever played! It's such a masterpiece! It's hard to believe that this game is approaching 11 and a half years old now! I worry that someday I won't be able to get a 3ds for a reasonable price when I inevitably will need a 3ds replacement because I can't get another battery replacement. The controls are the only complaint I have about the game. I can't play for too long before my wrist started to hurt.
@@Masqu33 If we're being honest with ourselves, it never will. Devoted as the fanbase is, this games controls were too much of a deterrent for early 3DS users to find a big enough following. It certainly doesn't help that the 3DS was a flop for its first year. I'll always have hope, but after Sakurai said he has neither the funding, nor the team to make a sequel, AND that a remake would cost more than any company is willing to risk, that hope is thin.

I feel that they can't really find a team that wants to work on Kid Icarus, though, as Uprising was very difficult to make and it was hard on the team + Sakurai. I don't know why they don't just make a sequel instead if they don't want to make a remake or port it. To be honest, though, as long as they don't confirm that the game has been shelved, there will always be a part of me that will have even a little hope until they confirm that it's dead.
@@Masqu33 yeah, money never was an issue, but Nintendo almost certainly doesn’t want to risk the money it would take to make it. In their eyes the risk vs reward leans heavily toward the former… so it won’t happen. I’ll be overjoyed to be proven wrong tho.

Sakurai loves giving his fans exactly what we ask for. Just look at Smash Ultimate. Bringing back every single fighter. Adding long requested characters like Ridley, K.rool, Banjo-Kazooie & 4 Square Enix fighters including Sora from Disney. He has gotten the impossible done before. Kid Icarus Uprising HD will happen one day. It's not a a matter of if, just a matter of when. And what console. The Switch or its successor?

Why would he said 2 times that it would be really cool to have the game in HD with bigger screen, graphics and controls (yes he also said he wished to have a circular pad that work for aiming but the 3DS hardware was already pushed into limits), so why would he said that if that would never happen ? He know than, us (the fans) know him a lot, he know than he need to choose his words carrefully to not hype people for nothing ! And yes he already said a lot of time than things wouldn't or would never happen and that happened ! Such a greatly edited video. This is such a shame since I’ve been wanting to play this game for years and a switch port would be the best option. Thankfully I do own a 3DS so I went to eBay and ordered the game for a reasonable price
a good friend owned it on 3ds and gave me his copy he knows im a big fan of the series as well and suddenly i opened the case knowing the game was missing we were both confused and concerned to so eventually i modded the new 3ds xl i own and addded the Ninteto H-shop and got the game and it was worth playing the third instalment to the franchise love the jokes and ny humour plus the anime series was funny and it was on th 3ds exclusive worth modding
I really only had problems with the controls when i tried to emulate it. It's sadly very tied to the controls of the hardware. Not that it would be impossible to put on switch (heck, even skyward sword was ported to work with switch controls) but with what we can do on emulators it's not great
That's a completely unrelated topic. Pokemon doesn't port games, they remake them. TPC also has a much higher budget and audience, so the risk is a lot lower.
To be honest, I'd much rather see sakurai finally push on to a new creative work instead of doing more smash/a remake. I absolutely love kid icarus and it's style, but I'd really love to see that style implemented in a new way and a new form.
Every time Nintendo revives an old IP, it seems to only last a single game..... They brought back The Mysterious Murasami Castle on Wii, Punch Out!! On Wii, Card Hero on DS, and Kid icarus uprising on 3DS. None of these revivals gave way to sequels.......

However, two other games I bought were Fire Emblem Awakening and Mario & Luigi: Dream Team, two purchases I did not regret. Back on the topic of Kid Icarus: Uprising, it was already on my 3DS (digitally, but still)
Masahiro Sakurai is known to play with his fans. Right now Nintendo is winding down Switch with the easy ports. It wouldn’t surprise me if they plan on putting it on the next console to hype their online service to port 3DS games.
If they can make a Mario RPG remake, then I’m sure Kid Icarus: Uprising will- hold on, Mario RPG is a RPG game, making Kid Icarus Uprising is gonna be hard to remake.. oh well, luckily I still have the 3DS game
As much as I love the game, I think this is for the best. A lot of game series have been revived as nothing more than zombies to wring cash out of the IP. Let us not forget that for every Uprising there are 10 Star Fox Zeroes, Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festivals, Paper Mario Sticker Stars and other such games. While Nintendo has been "decent" about things lately, never forget they could easily slip into that old mindset. I'd rather Kid Icarus be safe from that.

I think the most problem is the sales of uprising is not as good as other nintendo games but porting this game will cost a lot.
