One of my old bands once stayed at the Thou drummer’s (white shirt) house while on tour. Super nice guy and left us a bunch of breakfast options to choose from in the morning before we left and let US lock the door lol

@@whatthefuck1011 Check out Sumac, the same drummer from Baptists plus the guitarist and vocalist from Isis. They're slower than Baptists, for sure, but great band.

Yo so pumped to see these guys on KEXP, saw both the body and Thou back in 09' and it was my first time hearing them both. Amazing live, would love to see them again!
I'll be honest at first I wasn't a fan of Chip's vocal style but after listening to some more of their work it totally grew on me and now am a fan. Thankfully for me I gave them a chance because I would've missed out on some really incredible fuckin music!! And Thou is fuckin amazing as well. Together they have the ability to make lots of (Quality) music and colab with some really diverse musicians that really works well with each of their styles. Its great to see these younger musicians really putting in work and having a really open mind in who they will colab with. Im loving it and thinking it is the key to their existance in decades to come imho!! Anyways they both rule thanks KEXP for another keeper!!

Fuck me this is awesome. I was curious about what the second cover would be but I did NOT expect that. Two superb bands and some of the finest noise to be coming out of the States right now.

My favourite part of this video is not the great alternate version of Prescience or the amazing cover of The Chain, it's how freaking high the bassist from Thou is. He's so damn high.

There are some Nirvana covers on Thou on some compilation album of Nevermind, forgot what's it called. But it's on Spotify and prob on other streaming services too.

I kinda think that's their aesthetic, cuz I've been to a couple shows and I think they purposefully lower his vocals just so it doesn't overpower the rest of the amazing music. Idk...maybe it didn't come off the same way it does in clubs
Joey Summers You’re spot-on with that. Even in the recordings, his vocals are kinda buried in the mix. They’re more or less texture in the song as opposed to a focal point.
@@srsucioguapodelsur8845 I wish they would bump them up. His vocals are the only reason I got into them. I didn't like the music but I loved his vocals. But The Body has really grown on my recently.

i was dreading the chorus for Irresponsible Hate Anthem, but then the lyric was changed to "everybody's someone else's someone" instead of "someone else's n*****" and honestly i let out a breath of relief. i would've lost a lot of respect for them if they'd stuck with the original lyric.
