O Criador deste talento honra fidelidade.
It appears that Luciano Botelho himself has uploaded this and other videos of his performances. If so, Luciano, I'm delighted to be able to tell you directly how your MAGNIFICENT rendition of Cujus Animam moved me. I am not a musician but have listened to Rossini's Stabat Mater many times and love it. I found you on RUclips purely by chance and am now an aficionado. Bravissimo.
Felicidades.
that's a wonderful illustration of the 'voix mixte', a very reinforced falsetto that incorporates both head and chest registers. It's actually how these notes were sung back when these works were written
Bravo! Luciano you are amazing. it's very powerful rendition. This is my first time to hear you sing and I love it. I agree with ngurrytenore and Operaboymtius. the legato is so beautiful. I don't think that's a falsetone...
He's excellent. The timbre is very smooth and the singing, polished and steady. In some ways he reminds me of the lyric tenors from the past, with that fast vibrato and sweet tone ... I'd only like him to have a less effortful and steadier high register. Apart from that, he's mostly wonderful.
Light voices like Gedda, Florez, Vanzo, and others is easy to mistake, but it's not falsettone, is full voice. Actually I was lucky to see the same Luciano Botelho exactly at Pearl Fishers in Rio de Janeiro, he left a terrific natural C at the end of "Je crois entendre" aria, also full voice. Bravo Botelho!!!
A fine artist with a lovely lyric tenor voice... Nothing thrilling about the timbre or the falsettoish D-flat, but he should be quite good in a number of lyric roles.
Great singing! beautiful voice, excellent technique. The ones who are arguing about the top note, better go to learn good technique instead of wasting time like critics. What really matters is the legato line the beautiful singing, not just if it is a falsettone or whatever!
The score says Allegro Maestoso. This a bit fast for my liking but it's personal. Listen to the Jussi Bjoerling for the greatest tenor who I once heard was quite adamant about his tempi.
I think that the main probles is that the shift to the head note was too abrupt. But we should remember that was Rossini the one who despised Dupre when he showd him his Chesty high c. donzetti an belli were quite happy with dupre´s finding but Rossini he didn´t like it.
What he does technically, reminds me of Carlo Bergonzi. Is he his student? I just think he has to find the bridge from his middle registers to his high register. Thats why it kinda sounded like it came from a falsetto or almost like a reinforced falsetto because he just went to Voce di testa full blast and forgetting the balance of testa and chest. But thats fine! This is not opera you know. Maybe it's his choice. Still, Bravo!! Bella voce!
Beautiful voice! Once the maturity sets in he will be a great voice to follow! At this stage he lacks the deep emotion needed for this and thus does not capture the listener completely! But, I am curious of his future!
Good stylish singing. Nice legato and all but the Db IS in reinforced falsetto. Getting back into full "chest voice" is not in itself proof that it isnt. Cultivated falsetto CAN drop back into chest. Look at Countertenors when they drop into it for low chest notes. They do it seemlesly. It certainly doesnt mean they sing in full voice in the rest of the range.
it is a terrific performance. the voice is warm and the timbre beautiful. The d flat is easy and very well controlled.

Magnifico el tenor y orquesta, Bravo. . !

Parabens !

The Db is definitely not falsetto....he gets easily down back to his full chest voice. So the Db was automatically connected to the chest..great voice

I don't understand his C#3, It was so easy, did he switch into a strong headvoice or what? it was amazing.
A palabras necias, oídos sordos

@buontenerone in effetti è un bel po' intubato.

Canta indietro... la voce resta in gola!
Es falsete, obviamente.
Falsettone on the top note. The same Caruso does on the recoreding of "Pearls Fishers". I personaly don´t like this sort of resource...
Scusa mi, ma e falsetto...
