They seriously have a song called “One”? That’s so weird... When I saw the title of this video, I had to do a double take, because the song I always think of when I see “The Show Must Go On” is the one by Queen. And the only “One” that I know of is the one by Metallica. The only Three Dog Night song I’ve listened to before is “Joy to the World”, but I really do love it. I’d honestly *love* to start some kind of petition to replace the meaningless Christian song of the same name with Three Dog Night’s awesome song that actually has a positive message to it.
After watching you and a few other YT "reactors" for about a year now and feeling your appreciation and love for the music of my youth, this is how I feel. It is so so so SO worth being old now, to have been young then. And you can't beat that with a STICK!
Wow! Shelley. That is so, so , so SO profound! Cannot wait to use that expression when next hangin with the 'older' friends - all singers. It was a special time!
You gotta hear "Easy To Be Hard" "One" & "Cowboy" for their beautiful, sensitive side. "Try A Little Tenderness" & "Play Something Sweet (Brickyard Blues)" for their soulful side. "Never Been To Spain" & "Black & White" were also huge hits, great songs. This band was versatile!💙

Also listen to the original version by Leo Sayer who wrote the song. He performed it dressed as a Pierro clown and was a big hit in 1973. But he sang "I won't let the show go on"...
Jimmy Greenspoon was the keyboard player. He liked to look over the top allot, but this was I believe a Halloween show, but he was known to wear makeup and be a crazy guy. RIP he is no longer with us, but will be known as one of the best. -DJ of the 80's John Wild
Jimmy Greenspoon was the keyboard player for Three Dog Night, but at this point in time they had added another keyboard player. The guy in all the makeup is Skip "The Wizard" Konte.
@@kathiepatterson8023 Yes, you can tell that isn't Jimmy. His hair was very wavy. Konte's is straight. 3DN went through so many personnel changes over the years it's hard to know who was in the band when. Even Danny was kicked out for a while.
First album I ever bought was "Around the World with Three Dog Night," a 2-disc compilation of their performances from every corner of the globe. Still have it. Love these guys. Gonna request "Never been to Spain." Great vocals, also covered by Elvis, written by country legend Hoyt Axton.
Chuck Negron the lead singer here was a great basketball player that could of been drafted into the NBA. This song was written by Leo Sayer and first performed by him too. Three Dog Night does a great cover of this song here. Brilliant! Great reaction as always.
Version? It's HIS song. And for a real treat (and the original unchanged words...) look up him doing it live. It's a darker song than the 3DN version. An unparalleled performance IMO. Having said that, 3DN can do no wrong in my book.
The memories this song brings back. It brings me back to being a little boy growing up in the 70's. I don't remember if we had the record of this piece. I certainly remember listening to it on the radio plenty of times. One of my favorite happy tunes from that time.
See back then Jamal when you went to a concert you got more than a few songs you got a whole "SHOW" and a good 2 or 3 hours of greatness for the headliners alone never mind the opening act that sometimes were as good or better ! The Bands back then really loved the music , it wasn't a job it was a lifestyle and put everything into it ! My brother ended up buying the album and I used to steal it from his room all the time and play it and put it back without him knowing.😉
They call him "The Keyboard Player" ;-) btw, my favorite Three Dog Night song, althougth they all run close, is Out In The Country (written by Paul Williams)

I wasn’t sure if this was the Leo Sayer song, but it is. He’s a great songwriter, this song was about an ongoing nightmare he’d have of going onstage and stuffing it up and everyone laughing at him. Jamal check out his song Moonlighting and also Just a Boy (Giving It All Away). He’s an Australian now, too, which I love. Naturalised. Bless him! This is just so much damn fun❤️
The keyboard player is Frank "Skip" Konte formerly of Blues Image (Ride Captain, Ride). He was an incredible keyboard player. I don't think the audio was dubbed.
That was Skip Konte. He joined the band as second keyboardist from 1973-1976. He was billed as "The Wizard" during performances and dressed accordingly.

@Natalia

Amazing songs. Of course, "Never Been To Spain" was written by the late, great Hoyt Axton.
I love this song. The circus intro confuses first time listeners but man, when the singing kicks in it's a whole lot of fun.
The keyboard player in makeup is Skip "The Wizard" Konte.

Leo Sayer did a great version of this he's the guy that sings You Make Me Feel Like Dancing

Lyrics: THE Show Must Go On
Baby, although I chose this lonely life
It seems it's strangling me now
All the wild men, big cigars, gigantic cars
They're all laughing at me now
Oh, I've been used, ooh, used
I've been a fool, oh, what a fool
I broke all the rules, oh, yeah
But I must let the show go on
Baby, there's an enormous crowd of people
They're all after my blood
I wish maybe they'd tear down the walls of this theater
Let me out, let me out
Oh, I'm so blind, oh, I'm blind
I wasted time, wasted, wasted, wasted time
Walking on a wire, high wire
But I must let the show go on
Oh, I'm so blind, oh, I'm blind
I wasted time, wasted, wasted all too much time
Walking on a wire, high wire
But I must let the show go on
Baby, I wish you'd help me escape
Help me get away
Leave me outside my address
Far away from this masquerade
'Cause I've been blind, oh, so blind
I wasted time, wasted, wasted all too much time
Walking on a wire, high wire
But I must let the show go
I must let the show go
I must let the show go on
