Thank you so so much for this amazing and full funny explanation, thanks to you I fixed my washing machine today, on a bank holiday with kids coming back from weekend away at the beach…
Oh, my friend, thank you. You just saved me several hundred dollars. I was getting an E04 message and the door was locked and I couldn’t get anything out. I have an older model Bosch but you instructions were good enough that I could fix the problem. My wife was impressed, which is always a good thing for an 82 year old man.
Bloody legend. Just bought a second hand machine. Did 2 loads no worries then wouldn't drain. Thought I had bought a lemon. I watched your video. Turned out I had a coin a hair tie and an old piece of tennis ball in the filter. Now she's all go again. Thanks so much
Thanks Lurgs! Did the trick and probably saved $200 in a "diagnostic" visit by the repairman, with the extra cleaning charge! Took about 30 mins and went on to finish the laundry. I can't believe the stuff I got out of the plug, three coins, a hair band, coiled up hair and a shirt collar stay. Nothing to eat however.
Thanks! You've just saved us $200! Bosch customer service sucks, it gave me a repair date 8 days away! Maybe they don't have a repair service anymore and need to interview to hire, since all these repairs can DIY
@@LurgsHowToGuides the most common issue I've faced was the door getting stuck after a wash cycle and there's a white plastic thing next to the drainage pipe that you can depress with a screwdriver and the door will pop open.
thank you so much, i drained the washing machine using the pipe and the door automatically open when the water finished, i didnt even have to turn the water or power off
Spellcheck calls me Lars! 😆. filter will no doubt be stuck due to something blocking it, prime suspect will be a metal hairclip. Try being a bit more forceful. Try doing it up and undoing it several times to see if it can dislodge. Good luck. Lurgs (or Lars)
thanx lurgs that was a gr8 help - eventually got the filter plug free and found a face mask tangled up in it lol - no wonder it wouldnt drain !!!! - i didnt know the plastic tube was for drainage either - thanx alot
Thank you Lurgs! I notice that the impeller doesn't spin that freely. I need to force it a bit after every round. Do you maybe know what could cause this?
Hi there, any tips for undoing the filter - ours will only turn a quarter anti-clockwise and not go any further even when we turn it back clockwise and try again. Thanks!
Just have to try untightening then tightening and try wiggling machine and see if that debris will work it’s way loose. Maybe try some pliers but be careful as it’s only a plastic filter.
@@LurgsHowToGuides don't force it. This will be a long item (e.g. small stick / pen / toothbrush etc) stuck half into the drain pump area and stopping the filter cap turning open. depending on washer, you need to access in behind the area next to the door (some washers will have a cap along the lower front you can remove to access, others you'll need to lean the washer on its side or back and access from underneath. you can then remove the hose entering the pump from the drum (a clip holds in place) and remove the item. You'll then be able to freely remove the cap.
Thanks Lurgs- My springer spaniel MIMI is to blame !! There was one of her poo bags in one of my pair of shorts when my wife washed them!!. Mimi? Google " I said fetch it Mimi" Mimi had a collection of 40 cricket balls and 60 tennis balls !! It's Mimi's version of Crickets 100 !! By the way the water didn't smell . Again thanks. By the way I used the dogs toothbrush !!! And of course washed it afterwards,
@@LurgsHowToGuides I open both the hoses. The small one and the one that we have to rotate anticlockwise. But there are still water in the drum. (At 2:15 and 3:15)
Best off pulling machine out a bit then lean it back and get a small tray under the filter as you unscrew it, have lots of old towels ready, only unscrew slowly as will be lots of water probably
What if your machine is full of water when it stopped working? I have bosch machine. Changed fuse and still not working so need fo drain the water so can get those clothes out help!
Try untightening and tightening multiple times to see if the object clears. It is bound to be a metal hairclip. If not you may have to get a bit more forceful, but be careful as the filter is only plastic. Good luck..
Hello Lurgs , i followed the steps shown in this video and unfortunately i dont see the machine draining water from the drain pipe and it still gives the E18 error . What else do you suggest i do?
@LurgsHowToGuides btw I forgot to also mention that the water in the drum remains in it , even when I open the drain filter cap which is located at the bottom right of the machine . There's about 60 to 70ml of water that flows out from the drain filter but most of the water is retained in the drum . So I suspect there's a block between the drum and the drain. What do you suggest I do ?
@@richardj8853 could be a sock or something blocking a pipe. Unfortunately unless you know how to dismantle it all you will have to call out someone to fix it. Good luck

Excellent, easy to follow. Is it usual to finf water in the filter housing or should that drain after each use as well?
That’s normal, water will never completely drain away as most drainage hoses pump upwards to a drainage outlet.

What if the propeller isn’t spinning around freely?
Maybe something is wrapped around it ? It won’t spin completely freely as it’s an electric motor
The filter is clean but the machine is not drainning water now its not opening wat is the reason now
Not sure. Could be a faulty pump or blocked drainage pipe.
what if water doesnt stop coming from the drainage, neither of them doesnt stop flowing, but its soso clean water so not sure
That’s not good. Sounds like a shut off valve isn’t working
3:15 I can't even open it its jamed even i try with cutting player but no use still stuck😢
Try untightening and tightening multiple times to see if the object clears. It is bound to be a metal hairclip. If not you may have to get a bit more forceful, but be careful as the filter is only plastic. Good luck..
😂😂😂 love it.
