    Saved me a load of money thanks. I had tried the filter at the front and drain pipe but didn't know my way around anything else. Took the pump off and sump off and found the culprit, a sock, thanks to this video! 😃

    I was a white goods repairer for 10 years. We would do 15 to 20 service calls a day. The amount of coins we would pull from pump hose traps was always easy enough to buy lunch for both of us every day.

      The best cash trap that any manufacturer made had to be the hopoint 95 series of washing machines these could accumulate up to £30-£40 of coins back in the 90s, so it was dinner for two and a good drink.
      I will tell you a quick story I used to buy lorry Loads of used appliances from currys
      To refurbish There was normally 100 machines which I would pay £10 each for and I'd always get more money out of the Sump hoses and I paid for the machines

      @@How-to-repairhaha that's hilarious! The 90's was a boom period for white goods. Split air conditioner's came on the scene we had a crew fitting 5 a day! For a decade! But those days are gone most white good repairers in my area have closed down. Doesn't seem to be any money in it anymore.

    If an error code doesn’t go away after rebooting the machine I will generally google it and if it looks complicated I just replace the machine as the cost for an engineers visit is often a decent percentage of a new machine and no guarantee it will be fixed and then there are costs for parts and the time without a working machine.
    This video described what the problem was likely to be, how to get to the problem and how to fix the problem. Another machine saved from joining the scrap pile unnecessarily.
    Great video. Cheers.

    These newer models are terrible for getting socks and small items stuck in the sump hose blocking water even going to the pump my friend had the 7kg version exactly like this but plain white door and was always getting blocked and she didn’t overload either
    was glad when
    it got a hole in the tub so was dead after 18 months and I was happy not to be going up there every month doing it for her they changed the door seal and not for the better.
    It got replaced with a 10kg standard digital beko washing machine which she’s had about 8 months and no issues.

    • @Albieshutz
      @Albieshutz 7 месяцев назад +3

      My hotpoint is similar to ur friends and socks and small items get under the drum and shred the reason they get under is because when it spins the drum wobbles around and makes a gap between the door seal and drum which allows the small items to get in and under the drum

    • @colinsace1
      @colinsace1 7 месяцев назад +1

      @@Albieshutz yes the hotpoint drums has changed slightly and now there is a big old gap in between the drum and door seal that wasn’t on older models all it takes is a slight bit of force against the door seal and then bang sucked straight under the drum then eventually into the sump hose and gets stuck full of water F5 appears then we had to drag it to the front door step outside full of water and clothes and open the filter and would slowly drain out the filter 40 odd mins later you could take the pipe off underneath and get rid of the blockage which would be socks or underwear almost every time.
      She doesn’t have it anymore only lasted 18 months went about 7 ,8 months ago and I think a coin cracked the tub open so was just leaking everywhere and had to be thrown out to the scrap man as it’s sealed tub inside.
      My old hotpoint drum was different yes things could get sucked down there but never did on me.

    Been trying to get to my filter for 45 minutes and this was the best video simply because you used a screwdriver to get in there. I did that and 15 minutes later was finally in. Sadly, the filter didn't have much water in it but some sludge (so got that out). I think I'm still going to have the not draining properly problem and tilting the machine is just too much for me. I guess it will be time to call someone. Anyway, thanks! It was useful to see how to get to my darn filter!

    Brilliant video, I have a hotpoint ultima WDUD9640. When using the tumble dryer the clothes come out wet I can feel the heat when the door opens. Do you have any idea what could be the issue ?
    Regards
    Stuart

      This will be to do with the machine, not condensing and getting rid of the water. I would suggest you have a look at my videos to do with condenser dryers. Here is my latest one, but it's on a Beko but the principles will still apply ruclips.net/video/OwDaZa-QOi8/видео.html and here is the older video on Hotpoints ruclips.net/video/HIhgzymYxMo/видео.html I will be doing an updated version at a later stage sorry I've got no up-to-date ones, What would really help me to get my video seen as I'm no IT expert is to either share the channel or at least post it to your friends my videos might not be RUclips superstars, but they save Appliances from the scrapheap. Share and help us fight appliance waste! @stuartcareless9550 please remember to subscribe to our channel as that really helps us ruclips.net/user/shortse432SAb2g08 Thanks, Paul 👍

      @How-to-repair Hi, I found a blockage on the tank that run underneath the fan. I used the hoover detailing kit to hoover out the blockage and a coat hanger to hook it.
      Thanks for the advice 🙏

    Please what if it’s the control board?

    • @How-to-repair

      if the control board is faulty, then you either have to find out if there are any blown circuits or you will need to replace the PCB

    Done what he said and it worked - I had to take the hoes with the ball off and found a ripped bit of clothing blocking the ball so I removed it and it worked - 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
