The Auto clean function is activated by holding down the "Extra rinse" button for 5 seconds, whilst holding the button watch the display and you will see the words " Auto clean" scroll. Wait till it finishes scrolling and the machine will automatically lock and the display will now read the duration "1.10" once that all happens just leave alone till done. Remember 🎵🎶🎶🎵 "washing machines live longer with Calgon." 🎵🎵🎶🎵 (I did actually put mine in the drum.) Make sure it's empty tho when in auto clean mode.
Good video, just bought one of these this week, the first night, it ran all night, and was still going in the morning. When I eventually got it to stop and open the door, the clothes were still wet, tried to do a spin and drain at lunchtime yesterday, it was still going at 7pm last night. Wish I'd bought a reconditioned washing machine that is far easier to use and more economical. Considering sending it back. New technology on everything is far too complicated, for the most simplest of tasks. I chose this model for the colour, brand and price, wish I hadn't now. Had I watched this video prior to purchase, I definitely wouldn't have bought it.
I bought the 9kg model and there was no liquid level plastic part in my bag. Overall I m happy with the 45 min 9 kg was and the 20 degree full wash. I use Calgon in my machine every month and sometimes run a bottle of vinegar too as I live in a very hard water area. I like this machine.
Hope you enjoy using it. I had problems with my 9kg Hoover w.machine plus the engineers long waiting schedule repair for appoint dates. So I upgraded for 10kg on my current hotpoint model ..im happy with it.Had for 3 weeks ..
Thank you your video has helped me a lot.was a bit confused at first but after watching your video everything has been explained in an easy way.thank you again.
This machine is not bad but it seems to have a common problem with the following: during the cycle it will beep 3 times but for no apparent reason, no error warning and the cycle seems to go as planned but why is it beeping? After much research as Hotpoint don't offer much help it would appear that the Circuit Electric Board at the top/front is very sensitive, if there is any slight bit of dust, grease or dirt on it it will beep beep beep ... Very annoying indeed, but I have heard of this happens you have to take damp cloth and wipe thoroughly the front top panel and knobs and buttons. If it still goes Beep Beep Beep during the cycle press the Delay button and it will stop for the remainder of the cycle! It took me ages to find this out so in case any of you reading this experience this issue I hope this may help.
Thank you very much for your video I have found it useful I was very frustrated that I could not get the machine to wash any higher than 40 you have explained the programs perfectly
I have a new Hotpoint NSWA 945C also 9KG. I just did a wash using liquid and after it finished the wash the liquid was still in the compartment. I used the blue plastic partition and the liquid was in the correct compartment.
I have the 1600 spin version of this machine, the only problem I have found is that the fabric softener doesn’t seem to penetrate the clothes very well so the fragrance doesn’t seem to go on the clothes, softener goes in ok but doesn’t seem to leave the laundry smelling fresh. Any ideas??
I totally agree. What happens with mind is weird. First off i don't use fabric softener ever, I put Washing powder directly into the drum not the drawer. I make sure also I don't use too much but *sometimes (not always) when the cycle is finished and I open the drawer to air it out the blue fabric softener part has quite a bit of water in it's one time it was literally full of water, Why is this happening?? I know some water will he left just a trace of water but this is too much and I can't figure out why? Does anyone know 😢 So annoying
If you use lower temperatures like 20 or 30 degree then i would recommend once a month, or if you use higher temperatures like 60 or 90 degree programs then every couple of months should be ok.
Hi, I bought one of these machines recently. I want to decrease the time on a 60 degree cycle as don’t want the wash to be over 3 hours long. The shop told me to press the extra touch button and this would bring down the time, but when I press this it just keeps bleeping. Can you offer any advice? Thx in advance.
I have one I’ve only had it for 4 months and it’s leaking water all over my kitchen 😡 I’ve checked my plumbing and it’s fine so can’t work out where the water is coming from ? Can you advise ?
Hi my hotpoint machine did not water supply I used only 2 month I Set the time but my little kid touch the buttons after that water supply did not work kindly guide me .what I do
Thanks for this video - really helpful as this washing machine was in the apartment I moved into however there was no manual for the machine so this was a great help however i was waiting also for you to show us how to clean the filter- i know it is at the bottom of the machine but how do i open the cover? thanks
Hi I have Ariston Washing Machine 7kgs that is stopping during wash at 28 mins ,counts till 25 mins washes till 19mins stops again timer goes to 15mins, continues to wash till 0,then adds time to 15 mins... What might be the problem?
It could be that the program you are washing on has a small load capacity? It is standard to add time to a wash if you are putting in a larger load than is set on the machine for the program you are selecting.
Normally select a high temperature for the cleaning cycle like a 60 or 90 degree wash. We normally recommend sticking to a main brand of detergent rather than some of the cheaper supermarket brands as it can make a difference.
15:03 the bottom right of my tray is the same it looks like the plastic has chipped is this a design fault or is it supposed to be like that. I was worried at first thinking it snapped off and went inside my machine but yours is the same.
I assume you mean the softener section in the soap drawer? Softener is used to reduce wrinkles, prevent static build-up, make your clothes feel softer, and leave them smelling fresh.
I bought the 7 kg version a couple of months ago. Works well and good value for money, but some annoyances I have found are: 1. Not being able to see the time remaining, temperature, and spin speed on the display all at the same time, 2. Door doesn't open all the way back flat, 3. Vibrates quite a bit during a spin and gets pretty rumbly - even just a 1200 spin with only a light load. I've checked the machine is sitting level on all 4 feet, so it's definitely not anything I'm doing wrong.
The main thing you can do is to use a flat headed screwdriver to gently prize off the plastic trim on the front of the washer. that way you have access to the pump filter
If this is a new washing machine then make sure the transit bolts have been removed. If they have then it sounds like it could be the bearings that could have gone
the machine is great but finding that when i use fabric conditioner it smells great when washing done but when it dries on the line smells not so nice why and has musty smell when it dry, it is not the washingg machine and not overfilling the fabric condtioner tray any ideas... it really is driving me mad
That sounds odd, i am not sure what it could be, if its still under the 1 year warranty, i would give Hotpoint a ring to see if they can call out to check it over for you.
Couple of reasons for this. First of all make sure the water pressure is enough to take the powder through the machine. If its too low then there may be residue left at the end. Also you may be overdosing, so may be worth reducing the amount of powder you put in the machine, as modern machines don't need as much detergent as older machines used to.
Hi. I just purchased this model last week. My question is when I put wash on and the spin cycle happens. The machine physically moves all over my kitchen and by doing this it broke my plug socket. How do i keep it grounded so it doesn't move. I've just had a new kitchen fitted too. Please help. Thanks regards yas
This does sound odd and i would check to see if the transit bolts have been removed from the back of the machine. The main reason a machine will move is if the transit bolts have been left in which will damage the machine and will not be covered under the warranty.
If a machine hasn't got a dedicated self clean program then i would normally recommend just selecting a Cotton program, putting it on a 90 degree wash with no items of clothing in there. That way it will put the machine through a high temperature program to clean the machine
Not too sure, but sometimes it can be that there is an issue with the water supply or it could be the waste outlet that may be blocked if it is struggling to pump water out
First of all is there power to the machine? if there are no lights on at all then it could be a faulty socket or a blown fuse. After that i would see if Hotpoint are willing to help out if its still under a warranty.
There is power to the machine and lights come out .But when you start a cycle it cuts out and locks the door .it actually started by making a loud noise during the spin cycle ,after that is stopped mid cycle .
I've just had a look and it indicates the the upper control board is not communicating with the main control board. It may just be a case that a connection or wire has come loose for some reason.
Good morning! I bought this washing machine and l washed 1 cicle without taking of the transportation screws. At one point it stopped working and it doesn t switch it on at all. Do you think it can be recovered ? Thank you!
i AM REALLY PUZZLED BY THE SOFTENER DISPENSER, WHICH YOU DID NOT MENTION ON THE VIDEO. BASICALLY, NO WATER FLOWS THROUGH WITH ENOUGH FORCE TO PUSH THE SOFTENER INTO THE PROGRAMME IN THE LAST RINSE. THEREFORE IT JUST SITS THERE BUT WITH A BIT OF WATER ADDED TO IT WHICH GOES ALL OVER MY FLOOR WHEN I REMOVE THE DISPENSER TO EMPTY IT. PLEASE ADVISE.
I really enjoyed your video, vert interesting a d informative. Very informative. Did you actually mean that the Eco 40/60 actually uses less electricity than the Full Wash 45. Helen
I wish Hotpoint would tell you it's not 1400 spin on every setting, for instance,if you select 30 min wash the maximum spin speed is 1200,wool selection is only 800 spin, why don't they tell you this?
@@lords-electrical ok thank you, I've just purchased a Hotpoint just like in the video,I got it Friday and it's leaking water from the bottom left side,a small puddle,it will have to go back
I would check the installation first to make sure it has been connected properly. Once it has been confirmed that's ok then contact the retailer to see how they can solve the issue for you.
Just watched this having had the machine for about 2 years. We solely relieved on the 2 quick washes all the time thinking it was convenient. Had no idea what invertamotor was and how the washing machine reads the load. I have notice using the smaller loads my waste pipe is getting very gunky and smelly. I will definitely be using the other cycles from now on 👍🏻
Excellent video.i have ordered one of this but in 8kg 1400spin.i was wondering does this type of washing machine have a front drain? And maybe you should have mentioned that this kind of washing machine has a inverter motor and not like the regular washing machines.👍👍👍👍
I have the active care version of this washing machine. I have had it for just over a year. Would never buy hotpoint again the clothes have never been so creased no matter what cycle that I use or how low the spin speed is. The seal was over lapping the drum when we first got it and would smell of burning after spins. Now it can sometimes get stuck on 1hr 12 on cycles and won’t progress any further so you have to manually rinse and spin. Hotpoint have said no faults with the machine. Previously had a Samsung which was so much better. Will be buying either a Samsung or LG in future. Hotpoint certainly aren’t the brand they used to be. Anyone who is considering hotpoint needs to really think twice.
I bought this and I love it. However, I do have some clothes with designs on them and they need a cold wash. I noticed the cotton takes three hours. That is an insane amount of time, is there no way to bring down the length of time it washes?
Good washer , the only problem iv found is if you do a 30min wash and over load the washer won’t complete the cycle..then you have to put it on and drain and spin or set on 45 to complete wash ..took me a little time to figure it out why wash wasn’t finish cycle 😮😮
From the compartment can you please explain which one to put the soap powder in? Is it the large compartment or the middle one? I feel like I'm doing it wrong and it's not cleaning to its full potential
If you are after the full 1400 spin then i would stick with the Cotton programs as you should be able to select the full spin to extract as much water as possible. Also make sure that it is a decent load in the machine. If your load is too small then it may not balance properly so it will not spin at the full spin speed.
I got this machine and after 5 weeks, it make a horrible burning rubber smell. Hotpoint fobbed me off and said it is the drum rubbing against the rubber. It might do that time to time..... 🤨🤨
Just got one of these and my wife swears she has been able to contact NASA using the keyboard and dials. Thanks for showing - you have made what was complicated initially - something we can now understand
Got a similar model and feel I've learnt a lot from this. Not one for reading manuals. Usually just left it on 'mix', which takes ages! I get the Dr. Beckman cleaner and check the filter now and then. Those mystery buttons are revealed. Thanks. Happy New Year.
@@SAVOURYONE Me too. But I started my flat with a new way of sorting my head out. So kept files! Yeah...That went well enough so now I can't find anything! ;p
You can't normally unlock it mid cycle as it will have water in the drum and it will need to be emptied first. You will need to cancel the program and drain the water before selecting a new program.
@@lords-electrical this seems unusual. I've had machines before where you pause the cycle and the door unlocks after a few minutes where you can either remove an item or add one. What happens if a phone is in a pocket? You wouldnt be able to get it out and essentially would have to run the programme or take the machine apart. This seems like a design oversight from Hotpoint
The Auto clean function is activated by holding down the "Extra rinse" button for 5 seconds, whilst holding the button watch the display and you will see the words " Auto clean" scroll. Sometimes it’s harder to balance the load on the drum if it’s small. So it shakes.
The filter at the bottom...? Mine seems to do a quarter turn and won't come out
Hi. Great video, any reason why all of a sudden my times are WAY off what they should be????? TIA
The only reason normally is that the machine is being overloaded on the program that is meant for a small capacity load
How do I open up the bottom to clean out the tube if it's got debris inside. My water is not filtering out properly.
The main thing you can do is to use a flat headed screwdriver to gently prize off the plastic trim on the front of the washer. that way you have access to the pump filter
How do l clean the filter
If you remove the flap at the bottom of the washer then you should have access behind there.

can this be used in a built in space of washing machine, because I read it is freestanding machine
In theory it can be put into a built in space, but they are really designed to be used in a freestanding space.
Every time we use the dryer part it knocks the central heating off and when it finishes drying the heating comes back on 💁

Why some washing powder stay after the washing finish ?
Couple of reasons for this. First of all make sure the water pressure is enough to take the powder through the machine. If its too low then there may be residue left at the end. Also you may be overdosing, so may be worth reducing the amount of powder you put in the machine, as modern machines don't need as much detergent as older machines used to.

Mum's machine is finishing a wash and clothes still soaking wet. What wash cycle does a full spin?
If you are after the full 1400 spin then i would stick with the Cotton programs as you should be able to select the full spin to extract as much water as possible. Also make sure that it is a decent load in the machine. If your load is too small then it may not balance properly so it will not spin at the full spin speed.
Where do you put the soap in? There are three compartments.
Great to hear. Thanks for the feedback
Thank you I now know more , I can do shorter time washes on rapid option
My extra touch button never works! It just beeps
Got a similar model and feel I've learnt a lot from this. Not one for reading manuals. Usually just left it on 'mix', which takes ages! I get the Dr. Beckman cleaner and check the filter now and then. Those mystery buttons are revealed. Thanks. Happy New Year.
I'm not really one for manuals but I would persist with if I needed too. I did have one but find it lol
@@SAVOURYONE Me too. But I started my flat with a new way of sorting my head out. So kept files! Yeah...That went well enough so now I can't find anything! ;p
How do you unlock the dam door mid cycle?!
I have the white 7 kg version of this
Like it, very useful information
Cool 😎😎😎
I use to do 40°, spin 1200 use to take 41 minutes. Is there a standard wash with 40° that doesn't take 3 hours
Most of the Hotpoint machines have a full load program that should enable you to do a full wash in around 45 - 60 minutes.
Thank you!!!
Is the colour graphite and silver or is it graphite and bronze? It seems to look different colour on different websites. Just a bit confused
This is graphite
But we're is the filter ?
Excellent video thanks
