Thanks to Paul and his video I found out that my machine was one of the recalled models, had the machine for 13 years without problem until the F06 error yesterday. As instructed in the video, I checked my model on the whirlpool recall website and I now have a replacement machine coming on Friday. Thank you so much for this video and the warning, otherwise I would never had known I was using a ticking time bomb, and what could have happened doesn't bear thinking about. EXCELLENT VIDEO!!!!

Thanks for your help with this - found out our machine is on the recall list just in time, strong burning smell at the door lock mechanism. Count ourselves very lucky indeed. Thanks again.
Thank you for this video. It lead me to finding out that my machine is on the recall list after I smelt something funny and got F 06 error messages. Great job!

I hope you inspected the wiring room for any damage as this was not whirlpool's problem they just had a fault that they inherited with the door interlock it's usually a simple fix but well worth spending the time to inspect the wiring loomom
Hi. Thanks for your video, very helpful. Unfortunately the model I have seems to be missing the green tab to release the door lock. I've registered it for the recall, but do you have any other suggestions for opening the door to get the clothes out? It had finished the cycle so there's no water inside. Thanks! Al

I came across one of these repairs the other week absolutely shocking and scary I will never buy anything to do with hotpoint or Indesit again the customer agreed with me to what a poor design
Interesting, as I have an indesit iwdc6105 which is NOT on the recall list but it has the burnt out door switch and wiring. Looks like the same fault, but no support from indesit, as not on recall list
i would keep pushing them as many were not on that list Thankyou For leaving a comment this is for you ruclips.net/user/shortse432SAb2g08 please remember to subscribe as that's is was keeps this channel going. Thanks 👍
Mine machine was giving the F06 error. I cleaned the drainage pump. After that, the problem has gone. I found out a hairpin and a coin. I think the hairpin blocked the blades turn.
Hi, please use our contact us page and make sure you fill out the request for what your problem is. I will need the full model number of the identification plate and the details of your problem so that I can provide you with useful literature. A video shoot of the problem would be perfect as well. Normally, I would get back to you within 24 hours but I am on my way back from the IFA trade show in Berlin, so it can take more time to respond. I have a hotpoint aqualtis washer dryer and it stopped working it doesn’t turn on and the door interlock and wiring is burnt on it, it’s not a recalled model aswell do you think it can be repaired?
This may be one that slipped through the net but if you replace the wiring harness and the door interlock you will most probably find that the new door lock is a newer type
Hi Paul, I would just like to say how fantastic your how 2 repair videos are, they are easy to follow, very informative and you make everything so easy to understand. Thank you for doing what you do. Your videos are such a great help to me and I'm sure to so many others. My apologies having to contact you this way. I’ve sent two emails via your website on the 17th 6:24pm and 23rd 12:33pm November but I’ve yet to hear back. I’ve also been in contact via your ebay page and again don’t seem to be getting very far. How can I contact you direct please? Many Thanks
Might I ask, are these interlocks interchangable? I ordered one from a site called espares, and it's not the same part at all. The lock 'fits' into the machine and the F06 error has disappeared, and the machine can be turned on and off, can move between different programs and such, but whenever I press start instead of beeping, with the click of the lock it just beeps and the padlock blinks on and off. Could this be down to it being the wrong part or is there some other electrical damage? I also confess I'm not 100% sure the wires are in the correct order as the plug was scorched, and melted into the interlock so I had to snip the wires and attach spade connectors. Does this sound like something as simple as just the wires aren't plugged in right?

I've seen so many of these machines with this issue but when you call Hotpoint, they say it's no an affected machine. If they day this insist it's a huge fire issue and get them to replace or fix it for you. The have only recalled half he affected machines in my eyes.
in 2014 Hotpoint ,Indesit Ariston in my opinion was about 20% of uk marketplace. They produce the machines for approximately 4 years before realising it was a serious fire Hazard. if we estimate 3 million washing machines are sold in the United Kingdom per year at that time. you do your numbers lol. I have also had a shop in Europe and I have never heard of a recall taking place over there!! but I have seen the problem on these brands many times on European models

I am so grateful that you made this video! Our machine has been playing up of late and has has had the "F 06" error code twice now. Yesterday was the second time and I could not get the machine to restart. Everything I tried resulted in the lock symbol on the display flashing. When I decided to look this up I saw your video with the prominent warning and quickly followed the link to the Hotpoint website. It turns out ours is a recalled machine and they are going to send a new machine out next week! They did say we might be able to run it at a 20° wash meantime, but I'm concerned now I've seen the burned out lock in your video. Would it be safe to do this? Thank you so much for sharing this, it literally could have been a life saver!

This is why I never recommend Hotpoint/Indesit to anyone. You never know when's the next recall!

Hoover washing machine programming keys do not press and gives (error e13 ) why?
I can’t get my door to close? Does anyone have any ideas, I have no green pull, and I have got the seal off but the door lock won’t release? 😢
This will either be a faulty door lock, mechanism or possibly a door handle, but without having more information I cannot assist
Iv had the problem with the burnt lock iv replaced it and when I hit START the lock light just flashes as before. The wire loom looks to be fine.
Might of damaged the PCB Thanks please remember to subscribe as that's is was keeps this channel going. Thanks 👍
what if I cnt find the string?
Took off the foot plate, but there is no pull cord to use to open the door, so clothes are still stuck inside.
