I bought the MA2 and 3.5 months later they came out with the air 2s... and I’m good with it. If I’d a known I would have waited for it, but I’m no professional photographer just a dude with a drone and my MA2 is still a rockstar in my eyes 👍
Good honest review. Since about 90% of all the drone pilots in the US are recreational/ hobbyist, I see no need for anything more then the MA2. I agree is still the best drone for the money for the majority of pilots. The 2K, 4K, and now 5.4K to me is just a selling ploy. Most home PC’s can’t even play them or view then in actual 4K. Most phone devices and even my IPad Mini 5 only views in full HD, (1080.) It can play and edit them but not view them at any higher resolution then the graphics card will allow. Any decent editor can make any of the photos or video look amazing to the mass majority of the public who would think they are incredible. A lot of it comes down to your actual needs, your editing skills and and the money. Good luck and Enjoy.
The benefit of 5.4 is being able to stabilize without having any edge cutoff. The 10bit and bitrate are also pretty important for pro use, but not a huge issue for most people.
Went from mini 2 to air 2 and the first thing I noticed was the mini 2 took better pics. I was all sold on the 48mp thing and then I read it’s just 12mp interpolated to 48. So if you need the high res just shoot in 12mp and upscale in post. I use my drone for real estate photography so having clean pictures is a must. Which is why my air 2 is now my backup drone for my air 2 s. 😊 great video and the car analogy was good enough.
Didn’t realize I wasn’t subscribed, so I fixed that! Yeah of course I’m still here, lol. Definitely liked the music choices for the opening scenes and footage demos. Also what’s you main camera/lens for this shoot? Really like the clean background blur and subject separation/sharpness.
Good review. Exactly my thoughts. The MA2 is more than enough drone for most people but for those that want to get more serious about their video quality by grading, the A2S is worth every penny more.
3 weeks ago bought the mavic 2 zoom, third time out, smashed it head on into a barn lol but thankfully it just went out today on the care refresh. Last week i bought the mavic air 2 over the air 2s and after watching your review i know for me personally i made the right decision! Thanks for doing this comparison. Also made sure to get the refresh with the newest addition haha.
It's a $311.00 difference in fly more package prices. But you do get 4 usable ND filters. 4,8,16,32. Unlike the Mavic 2 with just 3 filters starting with a 16. I'm going with the S. But the flymore package is over priced regardless
Still here! I’m deciding whether to get the 2 or 2S. B&H has the 2 combo at $800 rn which is wicked cheap compared to the 2S combo at $1300. Idk man I’m stumped lol. I’m gonna use it for real estate photography.

Bro I’m just a hobbyist but my ass jumped on this drone ASAP I sold my mavic 2 pro and my phantom 4 pro and got this bad boy ! I take my hobby’s to the next level and with the air 2 s I can do that ! And I also received mine from mr Ken dono aka original Dobo ! I’m not having one regret ! This drone is 🔥! I started thinking I never really adjusted my aperture anyway so this is newer tech way better processor future proofing my footage with 5.4 k it was a no brainer for me to drop 1299.00
Honestly, I'm sold on the DJI Air 2S because I think it's the better value over the new Mavic 3. Also, I got interested in drones after seeing the Mavic Air 2, and the Air 2S is gonna be my first drone ever.
agree. pro is a pro. 10 bit will ALWAYS look better (IN RIGHT HANDS) . but if you're not planning to use the drone for making money or commercially than Mavic Air 2 or Mavic Air or Mini 2 are all great. for pro's tho I can see a difference straight away on my 28 inch 4k LG monitor. The thing I don't like about Mavic Air 2 is that you have no settings for sharpening even in D-cinelike which is such a bummer (even old Mavic Air HAS THAT OPTION!) . shame. but DJI is perfect at actually targetting each drone and market it as it should. I think honestly for the money Air 2s is absolute best for now along with Mavic 2 pro (used)

What about the downsides, the air2s falls behind massively on operating temperature and they advise not to operate below 0 degrees, whereas the MA2 can operate in minus 10 degrees.
Plenty of people have flown their air 2s in below zero conditions already. I’m not sure why it would be any diff than the MA2. It uses the same frame battery and motors
We share the same city! I have the air 2 and am going to hold off for the next pro line. Unless I crash it two more times and my DJI insurance runs out and forced to upgrade.

I have a Mavic mini that I use to film football games for my youth team I coach. I wanted to upgrade to one of these drones. My question is which one of these would drones would be good for filming games during the day and at night? I'm leaning towards the Air 2 because of battery life.

I’ll have the autel Evo 2 pro + smart controller in a few weeks to test out. In the meantime the air 2s is a HUGE upgrade over the mini 2. I’d shoot for it, it’s an amazing drone! The autel drones are really good also (from what I’ve seen) but the DJI drones have that ease of use factor. However, you also have to deal with DJI geofencing, where as autel you don’t

Comparing them both, I much prefer the photos out of the air 2s. Although it’s less megapixels by technicality, the air 2s still produces much cleaner images
Terry, I fully agree with you, and for the MA2 owners, they save 30% by not having to buy the Air 2S Combo, because they can reuse the MA2 batteries. I'm not planning to buy the Mavic 3 right away, but wait for its Platinum or 3Pro equivalents, and also for Apple to introduce their M2 computer chip. In the meantime, my A2S will do wonders with its great 1-inch Camera. I love that it is lots lighter and that it can record @5.4K that the Ma2Pro cannot. The A2S is a super great quad and worth the upgrade from the MA2! And I am sick like you hearing people complaining about it. I also hope that DJI is going to introduce the feature to fly the A2S with the V2 Googles. And I also love the Mavic Air 2, it's a super great quad to fly. Greetings from Montreal, Canada.

Air 2s for sure for the night. The Mavic air 2 has slightly better battery life tho. Like 3-4 min of extra flight time

What’s the deal with the MP game on these two drones? I thought Air 2 can shoot 48MP photo? But is also say 12MP? Is it sensor shift or something?
It’s really a 12mp sensor but it’s a quad Bayer arrangement. 12mp x 4 = 48mp
