- See this DIY aged stone planter pot with a Hypertufa look!
Today, I'm going to show you how to make a Hypertufa style planter pot which is the perfect decor piece for a faux, live indoor/outdoor tree or plant!
Lately, this aged stone trend is easily one of my favorites. Creating a real Hypertufa planter is definitely beautiful, but also time-consuming and takes 14 days to make. This DIY is a bit of a shortcut with the end result being a very similar style to the real thing. This project really makes a bold statement to any room and is a project that's right up my alley!
With this DIY I wanted to try a different approach that wouldn't take as long, but still provides the same look and feel, but in less time!

Wow, that's perfection. I've been searching the Internet on how to do an aged planter and this was it thank you so much for these amazing ideas❤❤❤
I am so glad that I found you!! I have a DIY hypertufa project saved from years ago and I was pretty intimidated by it until just now! You made it seem easier than the written instructions i have without a video. Thanks for sharing your awesome work! Cannot wait to do this now!!!!
The planter looks great very antique looking - you’re so creative!!
Love how you break it down step by step thanks for sharing
💕
You are the sweetest Mary! I appreciate your great feedback! 💕

Thank YOU Joanna! Let me know how it turns out! 💕
What a great process to age a regular pot!! Looks so good with your olive tree!! ❤️
Thank you Bonnie! I am in need of a live olive but am so afraid I'll kill it! 😩 Maybe this spring or summer I'll get some courage to get myself a live olive in the living room! 😉
Best DIY faux stone video I've seen in the last hour and a half. Thanks for sharing. Nicely done video, too.
Thank you so much! 💕
Omg, that's breathtaking ❤❤❤
I’ve done this same technique only instead of a ceramic pot I used a bucked like the one you’re mixing in. I just cut a thing around the top so that it didn’t have rim and looked the exact same shape at the pit used here. It came out looking very similar a cost far less. I do however appreciate the moss tip and will try to use it next time I make one. Great video!:-)
But you used cheap plastic ceramic is way better
You are actually A GENIUS, Valerie!! xx
LOL... this made me smile! Thanks so much for the sweet comment Gracie! 💕

Thank you Cheryl!!! 💕
Looks beautiful! We had went camping recently and I grabbed some moss while we were out, originally going to use to put moss on the two big rocks I got from the same area last year, but I might use it to do this to one of my planters like yours. Mine is a bit smaller so I may have enough for both
Thank you
Let me know how it goes, Joann! 😊
Really good!
Thank you Janet! 💕
L💕VE it!!!! 😍😍😍😍
Thanks Kym, I love the look! I need to do another for my office!!😍
Wow!
Thank you Raya! 💕
Gonna try this on my washing machine tub planter.
Sounds awesome!!😊 Have fun Joan!
Beautiful work! I made a hypertufa planter same like that year! This looks less work! I’m going to try it when I get time!
Yes!! let me know how it goes!! 😊
Did you keep the planter outside? It’s good with rain and whatnot? Just like regular cement?
I love this result. Would this material work for synthetic planters?
Love this! When using the pot outdoors, will weather fluctuations cause the mortar to crack or breakaway from the original smooth surface of the planter?
Mine has always been inside, but I am honestly not too sure! I can see how big weather variations could cause that, but I've never experienced it personally!
Great DIY! Quick question, are the products used to make this texture safe in a house with children?
That is gorgeous 😍😍😍😍 Now how do I talk my husband into doing this on our fireplace rock wall...🤔🤣🤣🤣
I really like that, it looks like stone!! I wonder if the mortar would stick to plastic as well!! Thanks for sharing!
It should work fine!!
Hola precioso 👏👏👏👍🤗😘
It turned out beautiful!!
Thank you Magda! 🥰 Have a great weekend!
Beautiful. I'm wanting to use this with real plants. Will the finish hold up?
Niiiice, 😍
💕
Amazing work!!!!
I don’t know why but u just found you. Love all your project!! Is this pot can stay outside??
Hi! Yes, it can stay outside! :)
