Finally the information we were looking for - thank you for explaining starting from 0 chlorine and why it's impossible to know how much chlorine to add until you actually register at least 1 ppm. This was very helpful.
I'm a new pool service guy, and I just don't understand how to get away from Tricolor Tabs. I can only go to a pool 1 time a week. If I loose 1-2PPM a day to evaporation do I need to bring the Chlorine levels up to 10-12PPM on the day I visit the pool for it to last a week? If I put 1 tab in a 10K gallon pool a week, that will bring the CYA up about 4PPM a week (15-20a month). The pool will be well over 100CYA after 1/2 a season. Not sure what the best options are for us Pool guys.
Hi Swimming pool Steve. I would like to see a video and hear your thought about UV sterilizer and how much chlorine you should have in your pool with a UV sterilizer and if it's worth have a UV sterilizer
Great video...question though. How often should I be checking the water when using liquid chlorine due to it not being stabilized...makes me worry about how long it will last in my pool?
You are supposed to maintain stabilizer at 30 to 50ppm. But it does not come in the liquid chlorine. When you use stabilized chlorine your CYA levels go up whether you want them to or not! That is why unstabilized chlorine is better as you can control the CYA level individually.
Hello, i have an ozone generator with uv light on my pool. My pool has just been running for 3 weeks but it has been ao cloudy and it has been greener everyday. I am not sure if the ozone is working since it doesn’t have an ozone injector manifold and my pool contractor says it doesn’t need one. I need help since my pool contractor seems not to know anything. I can send a photo of my setup
so how much chlorine stabilizer do I need to add to my summer waves active metal frame pool 10ft and 30 inches and it holds 1,266 gallons of water so please help me
Test frequently and treat accordingly. Keep a log and you will quickly learn your specific pool’s requirements. Way too many variables to calculate your chlorine demand in advance. That’s pretty much the entire message of this video.
Salt machine make the ph rise and liquid chlorine makes ph rise so I’m always putting acid to lower ph and every time I open my liquid chlorine container it losses strength
Yes. You will need to acid regularly. No matter what sanitizing method you choose there will be the need for regular balancing of chemistry. Salt water pools have been hyped for a few decades as a lower maintenance alternative which is marketing bunk to sell a $2000 system. When you consider the acid, chlorine cell cleaning and bags of salt you aren’t much better off. And then in 3-4 years when your SWG cell dies you spend another $800 to replace it. All you really did was decide to generate your own chlorine rather than buy it from the store. Maybe you save a few trips to store and don’t transport liquid chlorine but it’s not the panacea you were lead to believe.
@@drdrew3 well I have good news for all of you pool guys I got ride of my salt machine no more salt no more liquid chloride no more cleaning the cell and changing the cell now I have been using 90% powder chlorine every night I put it in my skimmer for 15,000 gallons or 55,000 litres I put 454 gr. every night and my pool as been perfect since oh and when the rain comes for a few days I will shock the pool whit 900g and it’s all good now
Why so much of trivia of putting too much of chlorine just put slightly less than prescribed as how would we know whether the bacteria have been destroyed too much of chlorine will get you blinded
I bought a bucket of Chlorine powder. Active ingredients: Sodium dichloro S triazinetrione 97% other ingredients 3% the problem it's a powder and didn't know how to dilute it since no one is talking about it :) how to use it to increase 1ppm from 1 to 2 ppm in swimming pool. and if i make the quantity 200x will it make it 200ppm?
Trichlor (90% concentration) - 7.5 Ounces (220 Grams) for 5 ppm in 10,000 gallons. Mix only exactly how it says on the product label. Every pool chemical you can buy has a label that says what is in it, how much to add for desired effect, and how to add the product to the pool. We can't give you advice because nobody knows what you have, or what your pool looks like. I can only tell you generic things like proportion amounts for predictable chemical results: www.swimmingpoolsteve.com/pages/how-much.html
Chlorine IS naturally occurring. It’s leeches from the rock and enters the water table in measurable amounts. Take it to the pool store and their test will show it
Lmao. Fluid ounces and quarts? Just say the amount of chlorine, the concentration and the size, this isn't fucking complicated. 100ml, 12.5%, 10,000 litres, gives 1 part per million. Was that so hard?
I went to college and listened to 4 years of “blah blah” in lecture halls and got my degree. Now I run my own business and am financially independent. This guy is smart. Listen and learn

What all do i use to maintain my Intex easy up 8ft pool. It is 1018 gallons

If I used one 3in tablet what would be the equivalent to liquid chlorine?
That’s it, I’m filling my pool with dirt and getting a trampoline🤯
Lol. My mother filled in her pool many years ago. Now I'm looking into getting one at my place.
Trampoline maintenance is even more complicated that pool maintenance. Sorry

30 to 50ppm is what you need to have.
Was wondering with an ozone and uv setup, how much chlorine do i put in my pool and how often?

Excellent information, thank you!
excellent presentation, thank you sir.
I got 50 million gallon pool do I just go up to part 4 billion or 1 part 4 trillion
Go up to 1 Gallupillion, lol
I always go with Quazilion
Yes just cut up pool & binned it
1 part per million
Million what?
Sir can you by writing
I didn't know you had to dilute the chlorine 😭i inputted 1kg of POWDERED CHLORINEto my 1000 gallon of water.

unless chlorine is naturally occurring, I have a well and to the best of my knowledge the well water would be 0 ppm.
Chlorine IS naturally occurring. It’s leeches from the rock and enters the water table in measurable amounts. Take it to the pool store and their test will show it
Just double the amount and everything will work out in 24 hours
Lmao. Fluid ounces and quarts? Just say the amount of chlorine, the concentration and the size, this isn't fucking complicated.

How many ml of chlorine fumes did you inhale to make you that angry? Get some chill bro
To much bla bla bla
