Taiwan rescuers rush to evacuate survivors trapped by earthquake landslide

Taiwan's Fire Department released a video on Friday (April 5) of rescuers running towards the Taroko Gorge area in Hualien, to evacuate people who are trapped inside the gorge.
Rescue team members found two more bodies after the quake struck the sparsely populated, largely rural eastern county of Hualien on Wednesday (April 3), stranding hundreds in the Taroko national park as boulders barrelled down mountains, cutting off roads.

God is merciful. The earthquake occurred on April 3, which was a four-day holiday in Taiwan. If the earthquake occurred the day before or the day after, it would be difficult to estimate the casualties, because that road is the road for people in eastern Taiwan to return home. There are often traffic jams on the only roads in the countryside. Thank God! Most of these casualties were engaged in tourism activities in the mountainous areas of Taiwan. If the earthquake occurred during the holidays, more tourists would be trapped or injured.
