This is the only video that I have seen that will even explain how to use the wireless Lan NQ1700e when connecting to my new machine and my mac computer. I will guess that the mini pc is compatible with a macbook pro. Even the store which sells a lot of machine brands including Brother could help me with this problem I'll let you know if it works. I am using embrilliance software but I don't think it is updated with the new machines that have wireless transfers Thanks for finding the time to make this video.
Thanks so much for this! I've been looking for this solution for months. I just ordered mine. I do have a question though, once my mini pc arrives, do I need to do anything to set it up in order for my laptop to remote into it?
I've written up directions of what you'll need to do for both your Mini PC and your main computer. Same information in the video but a step by Step. Here's a link to the directions. bit.ly/EmbWirelessMiniPC. I'm happy to help as I have time.

I purchased the mini PC and plugged it into my embroidery machine, but I do I see the mini pc through my desktop computer, you say remote in, does that mean remote into my desktop through the mini pc, if so do I need a monitor to do this?
The mini PC (with a WiFi connection) is connected to the embroidery machine. Your main computer with the embroidery design has WiFi. You send the file wirelessly over WiFi to the embroidery machine via the mini PC via the shared folder. So yes, it is wireless.
I’m still confused. Your title says wirelessly but you are still connected from your machine to your computer (mini) right? So if you are only working with a laptop there is no way to be wireless with your setup, correct?
With this setup, it allows you to send a design to your machine from your main computer that has the design or digitizing software on it to your machine without having to use a USB drive or walking over to you machine and plugging it in. My machines and computer are across the room from each other so this is the solution I came up with. The mini PC is small, stays connected and can stay by your machine without having to move stuff around.
That's all I have. Due to lack of time and raising a busy 7 year old and a new full-time job, I have closed my business down. I still stay connected to the embroidery world though and if there is something you're looking to see, let me know and I can see what I can do.

Hi, I really enjoyed your video on how you configured your embroidery machines. My wife has a Elna expressive 970(comparable to Janome mb7) & a Brother 1600e, and I would like to use your approach to enable her to wirelessly load design files to her machines. Couple of questions, the Elna 970 has the usb b port on the machine (cable included) as you mentioned as a requirement in your video. However, the Brother 1600e only has a USB port ( no cable included). Will your setup work on the Brother 1600e? Thanks!
Jaime, unfortunately not. Without the USB-B port, the machine will only read USB drives. Your best option for the Brother machine is to find an Flashair Card which is a wifi enabled SD card. Unfortunately they have been discontinued so you'd have to find a used one. Due to the high demand of them, their price has skyrocketed recently so they aren't cheap. I was lucky and found one as part of digital camera sale on Facebook marketplace that was cheaper for the whole camera and card than buying just the card. The seller didn't realize that the aircards were selling for so much. If you go that route, let me know and I can help you get it setup as well as it requires some special file configuration.
Chad,, I appreciate your reading my message and for responding so quickly. I had seen the Toshiba FlashAir card being used in a couple of RUclips videos, but they are very expensive. I did try to hookup a laptop (Windows10) to the Elna 970 using the USB-B port and unfortunately never saw a drive letter assigned to the machine. I’ll try again, maybe I did something wrong. Anyway, thanks again for getting back to me.
@@jaimemendoza2946 I've always been a Brother machine user so am not terribly familiar with Elna. So I did some digging and read through the manual. It looks like they made it proprietary and need their digitizer v5 software to be able to transfer files. Here's what the manual states: Direct PC-Link - The machine can be connected to PC with the USB cable included as standard accessory. You need Digitizer V5 software (optional item) to operate the machine via direct PC-link. 1. Type A USB connector 2. Type B USB connector 3. Transferring the data Connecting the Machine and PC Start up the machine and PC, and insert the type A USB connector into the PC. Insert the type B USB connector into the USB port on the machine. For operating instructions, refer to the instruction manual of Digitizer V5.
No, not if you have an ethernet port. That would be an entirely different setup. You need to have a USB cable to be able to plug into your computer and when doing so, it should create a new drive letter as if the machine was a Thumb drive.
You sure can. Any windows laptop will work the same way. The mini pc is just the smallest so takes up less space. But if you have room for a laptop that certainly will work the same way. You even have a screen on the laptop so won't have to worry about using a remote control program to operate it.

I have a flash-air card for my Destiny but never figured out how to make it Wireless. Again, thanks for your help.
Unfortunately no. The connection type is not the same and it won't recognize it. If you want help with the flashair card, I can write up some instructions on how to get it up and running.
I would really appreciate it but I think I have screwed up. From previous times of trying to connect the card I have lost the SD WLAN folder on both of them. Are they still usable? Thank you. Teri
@@teribrown966 yes, we can definitely get it working. Even if the folder is gone we can recreate it. I use the flashair card for my brother Quattro 3 so have no doubt we can get it working.
@@embroiderydad4418 Thank you for your response. I also noticed when the machine was turned off then back on the removable drive had been cleared of all files. So is it safe to assume this process is only temporary and not used for permanent storage? By the way your video was very informative.
@@lindabushby692 That is correct. Once you turn the machine off any designs you transferred will clear. If you want them to stay, you need to save them to the machine memory which is retained even after turning it off.
I have this same machine. Can the cord ever be unplugged to transfer files? I was under the impression this machine could connect to my laptop via wireless and share files without a USB port.
It can, but you have to use proprietary software in order to transfer the files and can't just use file explorer or save to a drive letter on your computer. For me, I use Wilcom Hatch to digitize and edit designs, add text, etc. In order to transfer directly from Hatch, I had to set it up like in my video. If you have Brother's PE Design 11, you can transfer directly from there. I hear Embrilliance has the ability to transfer directly as well. Brother did release a free software to be able to transfer designs, but it is an additional step. You have to save a design out of your software to PES format first, then you can open up their database transfer program to send the file to your machine wirelessly. It's at least something that works and free, it's just not as convenient and the most efficient. Here's the link to the free database transfer program if that helps. support.brother.com/g/s/hf/pcapp_info/ddt/en/index.html?prod=WLAN&media=i_txt Hope that helps!
