Was a great day out meeting like minded people and thanks for setting it up, its great to see where your own riding skills are at and the Lakes is a step up from a lot of the Peak riding I do and simply superb, hopefully see you on the next one
Thanks Phil. So glad I set it up as we all had such a great day with such a great group of people attending. Garburn and Kentmere do have some cracking trails, quite technical in places but everyone seemed to enjoy them. The grin on Carl's face at the bottom of Green Quarter was from ear to ear, so good to see after he'd found Garburn a bit challenging. Next one... I'll get my thinking cap on. Maybe we could do Grizedale, just not on the crazy stuff 😃
Cracking video for a cracking group ride, good to meet new faces and have a good crack. Look forward to the next one. Cheers to Marc also for footage at the bottom and cheers Jase for the ride 👍🏻
Lookded like a great ride that. You're right, mountain biking is all about having fun - something I don't think most road cyclists seem to understand! 😆😆 Cracking video!
Fantastic group ride, great turnout, i soon sobered up once we hit garburn 😂 you were absolutely flying down there, absolute cracking video, so good to meet everyone, loved this ride, spot on 😁👍🏻
Thanks mate and yeah, it really was great; so glad you made it, even if you were hungover to hell 😂 Knew you guys would love Garburn - return trip soon 👍
Really was mate, Garburn/Green Quarter/HP are just ace; not the craziest but just good fun (and challenging enough). Bloody great bunch of people out and yeah, seeing Carl nail that section at the end and the joy he got from it was fantastic 👍
Absolute brilliant day really Enjoyed it the location was great with some good fun decents but what really made it for me was the company what a great bunch of riders, good times 👍
Really glad you enjoyed it mate, pretty sure that everyone did 👍 Some great trails around Kentmere - Nan Bield (further up the valley) is a fantastic one too, although there's a LOT of climbing 😃
Yeah, HP is a fantastic trail. The traverse to the top of it from Green Quarter can get a bit boggy in winter but never to the level where you want to throw your bike away in disgust 😃
It was mate, and a real shame you couldn't make it but rest assured, there will be future ones and I'll let you (and everyone else) know well in advance 👍
Absolutely brilliant day mate …..i can’t tell you how glad I was that I came ….fantastic choice of trails , lovely weather and lovely group of like minded people to ride with . Look forward to riding with you guys again 👍
What a brilliant turn out mate. Some speed your carrying on those Bridleways, wouldn't want it to go wrong on that stuff!!! As always love the look of location on these rides and great video 👍
Thanks mate, I was chuffed to bits with how many turned up. Yeah, it wouldn't be nice to crash at speed on the trails but I'd be more likely to crash and hurt myself on the crazy stuff you guys do; pretty sure I would have been leaving Windhill in an ambulance if I'd tried the stuff you guys were in yesterday's video 😃
What fun, a lot of bikers came together to have fun. That's the beauty of the sport. Great tour and nice riding, buddy. You kept the water away from the camera well. As always, a great job. Thanks for sharing. Keep it up and have fun. Ride on
Thanks for your great comment as always and yeah, it really was a fun day. I didn't manage to keep the lens as clean as I would have liked but down Garburn, the surface is so unpredictable that it would be near suicidal to take your hand off to get a lens wipe in - even with both hands on the bars, the bike takes you where you didn't plan 😂
Cheers Andy, really was a great day. I did have an advantage down Garburn; been riding it on all manner of bikes (with varying levels of suspension) for about 25 years now so know what to expect 😃
Looks like you had a great ride mate. Cant believe how quick you got down Garburn, makes my timings look like I went down in my late great, great, great Grans bath chair :D
Really was Steve, shame you couldn't make it. Thing with Garburn is, I've done it so many times over the years, I kind of know what to expect and how to tackle it by now. Always seems so much easier on a full susser too; done it may times on a hardtail (and even a rigid back in the day) where it was incredibly hard work 😃
Thanks mate, it really was a good one and it's a loop I do at leat once a year. I used to nip back up the valley at the bottom of HP, climb up Kentmere Hall and then down Three Rivers but with the bottom of that being sanitised to the level where it's now like a driveway to a Surrey country house, it's just not worth the effort. I was frightened down Garburn, especially when my foot blew off the pedal. I was being chased down, back tyre being buzzed. I'm not really one for Strava any more (record but don't get all excited/competitive with it) but I managed to get 22nd out of 4500 down it (Gate to Gate) that day. Brag mode over. 😂
@@Stopadoodledoo hear you about Three Rivers. Completely wrecked a great trail. Far too much of that going on in recent years. A loop I like when not fancying the Garburn is climb the road to HP, down that first then up three rivers, down Kentmere Old Hall and then Green Q, with a couple of options back to Staveley
'HP a bit saucy, well maybe not' then took a couple of wobbles 😃 tickled me that. You can never really underestimate a trail when riding at speed. Really enjoyed your vid and looked like a good route for the ones who joined you 👍
Watching your video has inspired me. I am long overdue to organise a group ride. My biking plans are always so last minute, I find it hard to commit to a date far in enough in advance to get a group together, but perhaps I shouldn't worry about it and just get on and do it.
My plans are often last minute too and even with this one, the wife nearly scuppered it by announcing on the Thursday that she was working on the Sunday. Luckily, we have some great friends whose kids are best friends with our lass, so I was able to organise for her to spend the day with them (payback will be mean though - I will have all three of them for a full day). I have organised loads of group rides in the past (including group trips) so had a bit of an idea about what it would be like but just how good it was blew me away. To see a bunch of (mainly) strangers get on so well was fantastic, and everyone loved it. 👍
@@TrailFinder Lol, from recollection it seemed as if I just suddenly dove into the undergrowth to do a spot of foraging :-). Not sure what I bashed my toes on, but the bruising was pretty impressive!
Absolutely fantastic day, such a great group. Sorry to hear about the mangled toes but I do recall you laughing your head off when Andy showed you the footage (foot-age 😂). Hope to see you on the next one 👍
Thanks mate and yeah, if it was two weeks earlier then it would have been ideal for you to join. You should think yourself lucky I never mentioned the trip to Grizedale though as that was just insane 😂 (Don't tell the others but I kind of knew it would be a bit full on 😃)
It was a great day mate. As for groups, not really sure. There used to be a group around that area, organised rides via the Singletrack World forum, a good place to start 👍
It really was a great day, everyone got on so well and we had a proper good laugh. I imagined it would be a one-off but now, think it will be the first of many 👍

I just subscribed to you..
Thanks mate, appreciate that. I'll take a look at your channel - I don't ride BMX but love watching it 👍

nothing like a blustery MTB ride in the hills to clear up a hangover. Well done Mark. Good vid as always Jase
