this was a very good day, not as good as the previous day, but good, because like you said it seemed like we went on a proper ride, and earned the descents, that climb out of that Valley was probably the toughest thing ive ever done with a bike!!! great memories 😀
The previous day (well, two days before...) will be a hard one to beat mate, no matter where we go or what we do 😀. It's a shame you had your hand ouchie on this one as I reckon you would have loved it even more if you hadn't been in pain for a lot of it. I don't think I will ever forget that climb out of the oven/valley 😂
@@shannonmtb it was grim mate, not even a big climb but it must have been 35 degrees in that valley. Add to that thinking that you were getting close & finding that the trail dropped down again, was soul destroying 🤣
Love how it starts when you pretend not to know what day it is .....then proceed to not know what meal it is coming up 😂. Videos just keep getting better. Loads of variety and wow factor on this one. Love it! 😍
Not my best of days but know why now 💩 Even with that, the trails were just incredible yet again! Cannot get over how long they go on for, think I had 13 mins of footage just for this one deacent alone! Take me back! UK weather is rubbish 😭 Great video mate, keep them coming 😁
You did well to get out but I bet you’re glad you did; the joy on your face at the bottom of Flowtastic says it all mate (although the joy was stolen later on in Satan’s oven 🤣). A bit disheartening knowing that few will watch and fewer still will go out there to experience the trails (and everything else) for themselves but it’s their loss. I have watched this one far too many times myself (in iMovie) because it just takes me back there for a short time, reminds me how damned amazing it all was 👍
@@Stopadoodledoo amazed I got round as well, there was a couple of points I just wanted to lay down and sleep, but it was too hot for even that 🤣 That's why your video helps remind me of just how good the trails were, and we even got the sparkling water fountain again 😁 Yeh agree about not many watching it, but hopefully when they do they realise just how amazing it is out there with the Switch Backs team! Every day is amazing, even when you feel ill, it is still worth it 😁
@@ElectricMountainBiker beer up in the square in Capileira, then mega gins back in Bubion. Wasn’t that the night we were star gazing (looking at the Milky Way), when Tony had his biggest accident of the trip? 🤣
They all were mate; all very different but oh so good. Thing with 48 Stitches is that it comes at the end of a long, hot ride so you aren't really on your game; a pretty damned technical trail at times too. Crazy thing about that spring/water fountain is that the water is naturally carbonated; blows your mind when you first drink it!!

Ace video mate, trails look incredible, fantastic scenery too, the climbs look horrendous, Christian did well to get round considering he had covid and didn’t know it 😩 i would of struggled without illness so fair play to all of you, those switchbacks look incredibly tight and steep, camera has done a good job of capturing the true nature of the trails, not that I know but it looks brutal, therefore it must be 🤣👍🏻
Thanks mate, all three trails were so different on this day, only things in common was that they went downhill and were very long (7 minutes down Flowtastic without stopping). The climbs weren’t actually that bad, would have been way easier if it wasn’t so hot though 🤣
These vids jst get better mate . Loved it bro. Well worth climbs for sure . Fantastic Video mate n hope squirty mcbuttbutts ok. sorry Christian . Hope ur all gd 😂😍
Thanks mate. The previous (filmed) day to this was probably my favourite of the trip but this one was incredible, if hard work (a lot of climbing on this day; didn’t mind it apart from in that valley near the end - must have been 35 degrees in there). You will be relieved to know that Christian didn’t poo his pants; turns out he had Covid so amazing he managed to get round at all really!!
Hi mate. Flights aside (as the cost of those are dependant on when you go, etc), we paid €595 for 7 nights. For that you get: - Transfers to and from the airport (2 hours drive) - Accommodation in a lovely house/apartment with all amenities (incl. WiFi, kitchen, 2 bathrooms, 3 bedrooms, verandah with the best views ever) - Uplifts in mini-buses with specifically made bike trailers - full professional guiding on the trails, including training and advice as and when required - As Christian found out, they'll even have a go at fixing your bike if it breaks! It's self catered but as mentioned above, there's decent kitchens in the accommodation and to be honest, the food in the bars and restaurants in Bubion is so damned good and so damned cheap compared to what you pay over here, our kitchen went untouched. Beer was about €4 a pint; we did go out for a few beers in the evenings but also stocked up on beer in the convenience store to keep in the fridge - cost pennies!

Nice one mate, always up for hearing about and hopefully visiting new places. Was it uplifted?
