This is my review of Odin 2 Max. I am kinda sad that this is not the device for me. In this video, I am going to address the problems I experienced with AYN Odin 2 Max. Performance-wise, it is definitely a powerful device, no doubt, but there are many things more that are yet to be mentioned. I strongly recommend anyone watch this video before buying it so that you won't set your expectations wrong. Just to clarify, I am not trying to make other handhelds look better by using this video. I can see AYN has been making some improvements to their software, which is awesome.
This video is purely my personal thoughts, and please stay calm and polite in the comment section.
Finally, I will do more game test videos on Odin 2. Stay tuned.

First of all, I want to apologize for making 2 mistakes in the video.
1. The triggers on Odin 2 are also hall triggers.
But this doesn't change the fact that their travel are longer than many devices.
2. There is a brightness control for the LED lights from the top menu and I missed that.
And I want to clarify that I have no intention to bad mouth odin 2 or make other handhelds look better.
I just want to explain my experience with Odin 2 from a different perspective.
Many things may not be a problem for you, but it could be a problem for the others.
I believe in constructive discussion and I refuse personal attacks.
I understand the rams are reserved for system usage. Many people think the kill app page's ram is not accurate and it means nothing. But I looked up the system memory usage in the settings and it really used that much before the update. It was fixed after the update but it was an issue for me. Regarding the wiggly dpad, you are welcome to compare it with other devices. I don't need to lie about this and make it look looser than other devices. Hand size changes the way to hold your device. It makes your fingers harder to press/ reach the buttons when your hands are smaller. And because the dpad wiggles, the articulation is a little bit difficult. In my situation, I can press it but not reach the "click", so sometimes I can miss the input because of that.
I mentioned Yuzu's performance in this video because many people wanted to buy it for switch emulation and I clearly stated that it was not an odin issue. I just want people to know what to expect since most of the videos out there only mention how good it is.
Edit:
Just want to add 2 points that i didn't make it clear.
1. My true worry about the ram is that there may be something running in the background that I couldn't see, especially with all the problems happening with the Google service.
2. For anyone who do not understand my problem with the dpad and triggers: It is very difficult to reach the bottom for 1 valid click because of their designs and the pronounced round edges of odin2 itself 😢
go cry to ur mama
The trigger sensitivity can also be modified, so there's another miss
@@loganmelchior2128 sensitivity can be changed doesn't mean that the long travel triggers are comfortable. Why does it have to be a mistake? 😔
it sounds slowly like looking for the needle everywhere
Thank you for the review. I just bought mine and now I have an idea of some possible things that can happen when it gets here. Hopefully all the software issues will be solved by the time I get mine. Not all your issues will be issues for me since I have bigger hands. Sucks that your experience wasnt great but I think im still gonna love mine. Take care
I’ve had a pretty good time with mine, no Google play issues other than having to clear the cache after the update. I wish it had console controller size sticks, or closer to them. Otherwise it’s basically done everything I want.
I am happy that it works for you. It is indeed a powerful device ;)
There could have been an Internet issue outside of the device causing communication problems.
I love the honesty. It's a shame that creators have to be so careful in just being truthful about an opinion. Even with respect, people have become so fragile 😕
Sad but true. Thank you for understanding 💜👾
The reason for high ram usage is how android caches most of the apps in order to load faster and less stress on cpu. And it's impossible to disable caching even if you force stop apps. The system apps probably consumes 1-3gb.
Don't really agree with the d-pad thing cause the extra wiggle supposedly helps with diagonals in fighting games. Apparently even the PS Vita is designed like this. As for the triggers you actually want a longer travel for things like racing games, but I do prefer non analog/short travel triggers too for most games. Also even as a guy my hands are smallish and looks to be about the same size as yours, but I actually find it comfy and a big improvement over the first Odin. I would actually get thumb pain trying to reach the right stick because of how thin the bump on the back was, and so I was surprised to hear your opinion on that. Can't compare the two side by side like you can but the Ally I think actually feels quite good in the hand. I think I've heard people with big hands don't really like it as much though. Anyway I guess it's all just personal preference. What a bad unboxing experience though.. Noticeable problems upon the first startup is definitely not great. At least I enjoyed mine for a few days before the Google issues occurred. Hope this eventually gets sorted out. Thanks for the video btw though and nice work.
Happy that the dpad works for you. Seems like Vita owners have no issues about it. Thank you for understanding my POV in this review. My problem with that wiggly dpad is that I always miss the input because it is a bit hard for me to reach the bottom. There are many times I thought I pressed it but I did not get the "click". Don't know if that makes sense to you.
Finally I found one video talking about the problems that I want to know, thank you
Glad that you find it useful 😁
My Odin 2 Max has none of these issues, it’s been pretty much flawless. I love it.
Happy for you 😊
There's a lot wrong with the information in this video.
The ram showing isn't an issue. Android will often have that ram ready to go and will use it as needed. A little bit of research would have probably told you that.
Thr Odin 2 also has hall triggers. I'm not sure if you're just unaware of that.
Other devices have 'wiggly' pads and the Vita one has a lot of movement. You didn't seem to actually try and wiggle the dpad on those other devices so this seems a little disingenuous.
Brightness control for the LED lights has been there since day 1.
You mentioned issues with Yuzu not reading your saved data. I'm assuming this is when you moved it from a PC? You didn't really detail what the issue is. Either way, these are issues with Yuzu and not the Odin 2.
Overall this seems like a poorly researched and detailed video.
100% agree with you
Good points.
Calm down its just her opinion damn
@@Xaphino I'm perfectly calm. I just prefer facts.
I watched the video and in all honesty I've had none of the issues you mentioned, but I understand your complaints! I've had mine (Pro model) for about a day and it has been great! There's no such thing as a perfect device but the performance is incredible, setting it up felt intuitive and the controls felt really nice! Most of the software related issues you mention have fixes on the discord so you might wanna see that for yourself, great video still!
Thank you for understanding my POV. I am happy that Odin 2 works for you. At the end of the say, this is a powerful device and I can understand why people enjoy playing it. I am also aware that most of the software issues have been solved. Are you able to adjust the brightness of your RGB light? I only have the option to enable/ disable it in my odin settings
@@ETlandxoxo oh absolutely! It's in the top menu when you slide it down, you can choose colors, adjust brightness, choose whether to only light up the sides or the joysticks, etc... Also I'm sorry that your experience wasn't as pleasant as a lot of other people including myself, and to be fair I definitely had some nitpicks, like the fact that I initially bought the base model in late November and that I had to wait for sooooo long for the thing to ship that I ended up switching to the pro on December 18th just cause those were already shipping (I would've had to wait one more week for it to even ship let alone arrive here) so again, not a perfect experience but definitely worth the wait for me !
@@RueLangston Thank you for the tips. I have to apologise in the pin comment regarding this. Anyways,it definitely performs very well despite all the things i mentioned. I believe the pro would be a better choice:) Happy gaming 😀
@@ETlandxoxo yeah when looking at the price I felt as though the Max was very much overkill... Also to be fair I haven't tried Switch emulation, but I'm aware of how many updates Yuzu receives daily so no doubt that it'll only improve over time! Much respect for pointing out your mistakes as well, and if we're being completely honest, a lot of people in this community are very negative and just can't accept someone disagreeing with them on any level 😅
@@ETlandxoxoWhat you're describing likes like an "issue" people has at launch. Update your OS in the settings, otherwise, when choosing the color of the LEDs, you can also select a darker or brighter hue there, but that was confusing for people, so it's been changed with the update.
This is the type of RUclips we need! Way to have the courage to tell it straight. Sub. Thank you
Thank you for understanding my standpoint 🥰this was definitely not an easy video to post
RAM usage issue and play store sign in problems were very strange. Keep up the great vids!
Thank you :) The ram issue is fixed after the OTA update. I still see some comments about the play store problems.
All haters aside, I like seeing what others don't like. None of your complaints have dissuaded me, but if that's what u are complaining about then I want it even more.
I'm a lady and consider my hands to be medium size, but also found the Odin 2 uncomfortable. I'm not sure if it was because of the grips since I only had mine for a week, but it made my hands cramp like my vita did. I think the sides were too curved for me and put my hands in an awkward position. Nice review and valid complaints!
i have medium to big hands and feel like odin 2 needed 45° angled grips like console controllers
@@Flank.Sinatra. Yes I agree with this, the angle is opposite of what is most comfortable like in a console controller
Totally. And that curved sides make the dpad and triggers very hard to reach the bottom to register. With that grips at the back, it becomes even harder 😔 I hope more companies can hear ladies' voices when they develop their new handhelds.
My biggest issue with the Odin 2 is that the spacing for the face buttons is too far apart for their size, which makes a BA or YX combo (which depends on the width of the thumb) more difficult to execute when compared similarly-size face buttons on the Switch JoyCon, 3DS, DS Lite, and Vita. The spacing would've been fine had the buttons been of similar size to Xbox or PS buttons.
Don't get why ppl are getting mad at your opinions lol . At the end of the day you're the one using the device and if it doesn't work for ur needs then the criticism is valid.
Thank you💜👾
The triggers are way too loud! Like, when you push the trigger down and when they return, it makes too much of a noise as they make contact. I might have to use some tape to try and mute the sound a bit
Yep... That bounciness at the end is very uncomfortable. Especially when the travel is too long, extra force is applied and result in more noise... Glad that I found someone who doesn't like the triggers too
Zero issues with mine. First time hand held gamer and couldn't be happier. It's perfect
Happy for you 😊
I have zero problem with mine. Everything works great.
It requires some tinkering, but once it's done, it's great. If they didn't include analog triggers, way too many people would be pissed since it's needed for a lot of gamecube games. I love being able to play switch games like super mario bros wonder or brilliant diamond rom hacks. Not al switch games run but the ones that do run really well
I believe the design of the triggers would fit certain groups of people's needs. It is just purely difficult to register for people with small hands with that much of travel and the bounciness at the end.
Yeah i know, acnh runs and pokemon sv run very smooth. The recent Yuzu nce update really helps a lot
The biggest problem for me is still the save data. Some games like Digimon cyber sleuth won't run after importing save data. So do many jrpgs. Only totk and pokemon save data works.
Hopefully it will be solved in the later future
Hi, and thanks for the review !! I have a question : did/do you experience discoloring - yellowing on the white color or on the TPU shell ? Thank you a lot !
Up till the moment I sold it, I did not experience any yellowing/ discoloring on both the device and the shell.
I saw someone reporting this issue too. But it never happened on mine.
@@ETlandxoxo Okay, thank you very much !!
The quest for the perfect handheld continues
despite me loving my Odin 2, I also love when someone has an opposite opinion
what exactly does it mean that they dont use a legal anroid system?
So android is an open-source operating system. Most of the android phones uses the one developed by Google. But China banned Google. And for most of the cases, android devices sold in China does not have google services support. Companies have their ways to side load the google services onto these devices. In other words, the play store problems are very likely one of the outcome of side loaded Google services.
And it still stays white 🤍
Thank you for this review ETI!!!
rp4/pro shipping is $60 to europe :( wanted to try it, as the smaller form factor seems nice. I am just worried about the small joysticks travel and comfort in bigger hands
I ordered mine on day 1, will talk about it when it arrives.
Overall, I like my odin2 specially for the price I've paid, but I have some complains:
- higher than average input latency: this is more noticeable with music games (space channel 5 is REALLY HARD and unpleasant on this, as well as some rhythm heaven songs)...
- the lowest volume level is too high for playing at night next to your significant other;
- screen colors seem odd in some games. I think they chose to boost saturation, it's pretty but sometimes feels "off".
I have the same problem with input lag. I spent quite sometime to adjust the timing for Taiko no tatsujinn to a playable level 😵💫
I bought mine with a screen protector and didnt recive said screen protector 😤 plus my left analog stick also activates the d pad inputs ffs
It's funny, the size/ergonomics of the aya pocket s is said to be worse for the other reviewers, I guess it really depends on the size of your hands.
I subscribed based on your honesty. Thank you for not just repeating the script of another channel.
Thank you very much for understanding 🥹🥹 I just wanted to share what really happened here.
I love the device in general but mine have a faulty screen, waiting for the replacement but I'm a little nervous to replace it myself, wish AYN quality control was better
I am watching this because I am having issues with my Odin 2 Pro. Seems the battery is having issues. It has a real hard time charging and wanted to see if you had any of this as well.
Yeah it takes a looooong time charging. Apparently it's a known issue within the community and it seems that it was capped through a software update
I generally charge it overnight, so i have no idea how long it took. I will take a good look next time 🫡🧐 more issues keep on appearing 🤔🤔
really insightful video. Question where did you get those wing themed thumbstick covers for your ayn odin 2?
Yes I love those covers!
Those are Geekshare's magic wings joycon covers for switch. I use them on both my rog ally and odin 2.
Mine stopped charging completely and anytime I would put the charger in the device would just crash and turn off on its own.
Not the first time hearing the charging problem 😔😔 Mine works fine in terms of charging. Have you reached out AYN? If yes, how did they respond?
Thanks for the heads up! Mine comes in next week, hoping not to have the same issues. Fingers crossed!
Seeing many people have no issue at all. Finger crossed 🤞 Even with the issues i have , it still performs very well in emulation.
Yessir, ordered my Odin 2 Pro Cold Grey a few days ago too, can't wait to get it all set up.
@@OCSmoke8 awesome! Just got a shipping update. Way faster than I expected!
@@ETlandxoxo any issues with discoloration on the white plastic? I’ve seen a few people talking about the finish easily scuffing or even staining. I take extreme care of my devices and always wipe stuff down with alcohol wipes.. but curious if you’ve noticed any of this??
@@DylanTayag i haven't got that problem. Mainly because I bought that TPU shell. Gotta say that TPU shell is quite good. I didn't notice this problem, so thx a lot for the heads-up. I am not going to take it out from the TPU shell!!!!
I saw an Umineko game in your library and I instant like the video.
Good taste for sure 😉
Lenovo Legion Go is the way to for handheld pc.
Get the Retroid pocket 4 pro it's only 199 I'd like to see you review that.
I ordered my rp4pro on day one, will review it asap
Thank you for this i was about to buy it but now i won't. I will be waiting for ayaneo pocket s or just buy the retroid pocket 4 pro.
beautiful google wallpaper that covered the entire home screen
I been getting a lot of email from odin 2 user reporting frontends arent working on it and a lot of features arent working properly
I am using daijisho the whole time, so that's fine with me. What feature didn't work well? My guess:WiFi?
At first, I thought that it sucks that you had that experience, especially with google play store, BUT i'm pretty sure that is not an issue with Odin 2. My unboxing and booting of the system, connecting to play store etc. was flawless. So my guess is that the problem you encountered was on Google side, sometimes the store takes long to load if they do app updates / server checks etc.
But then, you talk about triggers, and the DPAD "issue"?? Seriously?? You either are NOT a retro gamer at all, or you are paid by the competition (probably Ayaneo) at this point to make MISSLEADING and false reviews. It's kinda frustrating. You can have your own opinions, but at least have an INFORMED opinion to avoid spreading misleading information. Of all gaming devices I own (and I own a lot of handhelds and retro handhelds) the Ayn Odin 2 has the BEST D-Pad, period. It also has among the best ergonomics I have seen in a handheld, and all major reviewers agree on this. So again, if it's a preference issue, don't present it like a device issue. It's a YOU issue.
To begin with, I'm sorry I haven't talked in a while! RUclips doesn't tell me when you upload, even though I set bell notifications. So, I decided to look and see what I've missed! I'm really surprised you picked one of these up. I'll admit I'm getting a little unhappy with my ROG Ally just because of how insanely big and heavy it is compared to my other handhelds. But I know it's a powerful piece of hardware so it has to be heavy.
I'm really excited to hear your thoughts on the Retroid Pocket 4. I love my ROG Ally for PC gaming and extremely intensive emulation. But I wish I could play my PS2 games on something a bit smaller and more portable.
I think the size is something that shouldn’t be considered a negative it’s a bigger device so it’s expected to be harder to use with smaller hands. I for one needed a device this size as I could barely play on my rp2 for an hour without bad hand pain
Hmm, it is not the size the problem is. It is the ergonomics. i.e. ROG Ally is quite comfortable for me. The sides of odin2 are too round and the grips are angled outward that force your hands to go outwards but the triggers and dpad have too much travel thus hard to articulate. The design are probably quite suitable for big handed people, which the majority of the reviewers are males with big hand.
But there are lack of reviews from people with smaller hands or even girls.
We need different kind of voices from different kinds of customers
@@ETlandxoxo fair point!
I don’t have any issues and absolutely L🤍ve my Oden 2 👍🏼
Happy for you 😊
@@ETlandxoxo much appreciate it and I love your videos keep it going mate😀👍🏼
@@valg.3152 Thx. I appreciate the respect a lot 😊 this is what I wanted ❤️
Thanks for your video; I have been weighing up getting this (Odin 2) versus waiting for the Pocket S for android gaming, portable emulation (Saturn, PS1&2) and maybe streaming. Do you have a sense when that might come out (Ayaneo's website said end of 23 but as it is NYE I am guessing that is not going to happen now). The software issues worry me a bit on both devices; I have an Air Pro and had many issues with the Aya Space, so a little worried about the state of that on the Pocket S. The issues you described with Google play on the Odin 2 worry me a bit too - do you feel the consensus is that there isn't those issues on the more recent products (and if you get the pro version)?
Just an educated guess, i think that will be after Chinese new year. AYANEO hasn't been able to fix the software problems yet, I don't think they are not going to release it too soon. So far Odin 2 is performing very well, especially when you are not aiming for switch emulation. My major issue with it is Google and ergonomics. It is really not so comfortable for people with small hands, especially for the triggers.
Btw, daijisho+ retroarch 64(the one from the official website) should be good enough to handle everything you mentioned. You do not have to go through aya space, i mean, I never use it.😅 In terms of streaming, pocket air has a more stable WiFi signal from my experience. I don't know if there is anything related to my wi-fi environment but it is better. Plus it has SIM card support! So i really don't think you need another handheld. You may want to give daijisho a try. Using it as the default launcher will skip a lot of headaches.
I think software issues on android handhelds are quite inevitable since they are not using the officially verified android system. That means if you want to avoid all systematic issues, you will have to look at something like Logitech g cloud or Razer Edge.
With that being said, there are rumours about razer that they are going to release a new handheld.
So i would suggest you to try daijisho to bypass any issues from Aya space, and wait until more handhelds using Snapdragon 8gen2 or similar being released if you really want to use an android handheld.
Otherwise, steam deck oled and ROG Ally are good alternatives
I love my odin but why isn't no one talking about the color banding?
Oh god, this scares me so much 😮. I just ordered mine and didn't think about my very small hands (I'm 5'). Let's just hope I'll get used to it like the dualsense (went from painful to comfy). I couldn't aford the Ayaneo anyway.
Finger crossed 😯 I hope it fits you. FYI, i am 5'3 and i had no problems with dualsense😳😳😳😳
I would say it feels better when you hold the upper part and rest your pinky fingers on the top of the grip. I am getting used to it but still not the most comfortable handheld in my experience
@@ETlandxoxo let's hope for the best 🤞. Thanks for the reply !
nice review! Are u a japanese?
I bought mine a couple months ago and have had a whole bunch of problems with it. My audio when I'm gaming gets all messed up from time to time and I have to stop the game I'm playing and restart to fix. Also it locked me out of the Google Play store for whatever reason everything was glitching and the Google Play would not work which affected my games so I had to reset the whole thing back to factory ( which really upset me).
After the last update my 3DS emulator started running like crap.
I tried messaging AYN and they wanted me to upload a video to them which I'm not able to do because I don't know how to shrink the file down I'm not a techy person. So basically I'm stuck with this piece of dookie!
I got so agitated I just stopped playing with it for the last couple of weeks. Instead I've been playing with my razor edge 5G which hasn't given me a problem yet.
I will never buy another AYN product again
I'm starting to realize that software is everything!
What version did you buy? Ayn Odin 2 Max has mostly fixed things, and no problems with google play. (EDIT): and also you dont need google play i think, for me apk's from chrome are enought
This is an old video, many things have been improved. You can find my updated review in the pinned comment
What are the chances that the Ayneo pocket S will have an identical or better performance than this Snapdragon gen 2 device ? It looks really premium and probably more pocketable .
This chip is too new, i can't judge that. But yep, when i saw the mock up in TGS, it was very premium. I still have concerns about it software wise tho. There are many software issues in pocket air that have not been solved.
Can you make a video of best hand helds to buy i cant decide and i need your help. I just want to play 3ds Playstation etc games
I will do a wrap up video about my favourite handheld this year. It is very difficult to define what is the best caz everyone has different needs. Hopefully you can get some insight from my coming up video
The only handheld in this price range that can emulate ps3 somewhat is the steam deck, anything else that can emulate ps3 is running windows
She literally tells you she is going to criticize it. What did you people expect. I think it was a fair review since she highlighted what is not right
Thank you 💜
This seems more like a rant than a review. Wanted to see some benchmarks and how it handles several types of emulation. Looks pocketable but not sure maybe too big.
Is there any videos where you show you’re face, I love your voice, 1:57 you sound stunning 😍😮🙂
I wouldn't like it if i bought the white too. Those white bezels suck. The grey model is perfect
Well, quite unpopular opinion you have there 😂 but I also skipped the Odin 2 because of different reasons. For me, Odin 2 looks to big and heavy. I really like my Ayaneo Pocket Air in this regard but the software on this one is REALLY bad :(
It is indeed quite chunky when comparing to pocket air. I wish I can swap the inside of odin2 to pocket air. We still haven't got the key mapping function 😞
Even if I don’t agree with many of the points, I appreciate the video so that I can make a more informed buying decision. 😊 ありがとうね٩( 'ω' )و
Thank you very much for the respect 😊
I hope you can find the handheld you want.
Giving fellow gamers a different angle to view the product is exactly what I wanted to do. I don't expect everyone to agree with me. In the end of the day, no matter how good a product is, it means nothing to the customer if it wasn't a good fit.
does it stay white?
You complain about Play Store being slow, but you can see the Wi-Fi icon shows your Internet is disconnected.
1:47 oh, is it?
I never had any issues with Google play so far.
Very happy with this device.
Shoulder triggers input range could be better thats one thing that needs to fixed.
Happy for you 🎆😊
Yep, I really need a shorter travel
Odin 2 Max here. I recommend Universal Android Debloater tool for any android device. Ram usage seems insane. Probably not a problem tho. Maybe it helps with system performance. I imagine it deallocates ram when u need more. Didn't have the play store issues, but first thing i did after the initial setup was update. I have bigger hands. I actually want 45° angled grips like a console controller. Seems like rog ally is even worse in that regard for me, as you need to rotate your ankles even more. The D pad is like that so you can press diagonals when you want. I never experienced false diagonals so far. I also have a Miyoo Mini Plus. At first the odin d pad seemed weird, but i got used to it very quickly and i now like it much better than on Miyoo. The resistance is also lower which is nice, but still just as accurate. Can you describe the problem with the triggers in more detail? Do they lack accuracy, or what? You can adjust rgb brightness from the notification bar and also from settings i think. Did u search the switch emu save file problem on google, reddit, discord, forums? I didn't try switch yet. RP4 Pro has a $60 shipping tax iirc. so it is only 55 dollars cheaper than odin 2 when u factor in shipping for both. and rp4 pro has 720p display, not an ergonomic design and probably terrible joysticks. also worse performance and battery life probably, but the smaller form factor can be nice
What i truly worried about the ram is maybe some kind of services running in the background that doesn't show, especially when the google service is like that. Glad that the update solved it. Thx for the tips .
Dpad that loose and the long travel triggers are purely difficult to register for me. There are many times that I pressed the dpad / triggers but I didn't reach the bottom and missed the input. I have to be very intentional when i press left dpad and R2 L2 to make sure they are registered. I am not sure if I am explaining it well. Hope that it makes sense to you. If the edges and the grips are shaped differently, i would have a different opinion. For switch save files, totk and pokemon work. I am sure i am doing it in the right way. But many jrpgs like Digimon cyber sleuth would not run after importing save. There are many games that run good. But some of them crushes suddenly and i lost 30mins progress for a few times, which is quite frustrating. And that's why I said it is not enjoyable.
Regarding rp4 pro, it only takes me 15usd for shipping,no extra tax. So the situation is very different to me. But if it takes an extra 60 usd, i won't pick it for sure. You are totally right about this.
I really love this constructive discussion here 🥹🥹🥹 Thank you for being so respectful and reason. I bought Odin 2 max with my own money and I wanted it to be good. I just think most of the people only talk about how good it is and that doesn't fit my situation.
@@ETlandxoxo i was also a bit worried background services. Universal Android Debloater scans all hidden packages and you can simply select everything in the recommended section and uninstall. You can always connect your android device and reinstall them back from the uninstalled list. I recommend this for every Android device, even if you don't care about privacy, it still helps witth battery life and maybe with temps a little bit
Next thing I want to do is undervolt. But i thing that requires rooting and so reinstalling everything :(
@@ETlandxoxo could you save states in yuzu until the save bugs are fixed?
i found at least 1 game that doesn't run well in AetherSX2, no matter the settings and resolution, NFS Most wanted. Tried even running at 30 fps (it's 50/60 stock). Apparently the only dev got bullied and stopped supporting the emu :(
Yeah, I also noticed no negative things being talked about Odin 2.
Android is open source there is no need to use an "unnofficial" version of android
Ram usage is a non issue on mobile devices, unless you are multasking on a tablet you will never notice a difference.
Honestly this video sounds like complaining for the sake of complaining
What about the pro's? These are just negatives... Not very insightful.
Thank you for this video!
Can you send it back?
I don't think so. I don't hate it, it is just not a good fit for me. I will try to learn to like it and keep it a little longer with me :)

This video is old enough to not catching up with the yuzu updates we have had. Things improved a lot but still, games like ryza 3 are not playable. Many Japanese games were not on the developers'radar. Sad that yuzu is dead before those problems getting fixed
@@ETlandxoxo mybe u can try yuzu early access and suyu.
I have had 0 issues. Thanks for finally some one doing honest review thoe. Still enjoyed. Every other video identical
Happy for you 😊 yep... Lol I don't believe being "objective" equals to only mentioning the specs and the good things of one device. But yep, this is a very powerful device that can run many games flawlessly indeed
My Odin 2 is working pretty good so far.
That's great 👍
@@ETlandxoxo thank god I watched your video and I was very worried about those issues you had😬
...like many others, I've had a pretty good experience with my Odin 2 Pro. Appreciate the video and your perspective though...
Happy for you 😊 And thank for being respectful 💜
okay so,
1st of all it IS a legit version of android but added apps and there is an official way to do that for manifacturers.
2nd the issue you got is either ur wifi or ur device cuz no one got playstore being stuck.
3rd of all, i dont think you understand how android utilizes the ram this is not up to AYN, they are using the ram for smoothness on homepage and loaded apps, when u play games however and they need more ram they will use that instead so you wont get any ram problems. lets say an emulator is using 10GB of ram then it cleans up like 5GB of ram (if u have 7.1GB available) and also the other device u used where u got only 3gb used the device was prob 8GB ram or 6. it always uses almost half on any phone.
4th, im convinced that you are not using drivers for switch emulation. you have graphical issues and crashes, use turnip drivers (no game have ever crashed for me and the only game with glitches is nier automata for me) and i have like 30 popular switch games on it.
5th, for the save data you gotta dump and then play the game on your emulator (it makes a save folder thats NOT the same as a switch) then u copy the contents of ur save to that specific folder (and you prob have to rename it too).
(i never got any issues and enjoy playing switch on it more then my real switch)
1 and 2. Google is banned in China, the google service was not official. That's what I was trying to say. This playstore problem was fixed after an ota update, it was a known issue too.
3. Ram issue was also fixed in an ota update
You can probably check all these in the previous update log
4. I literally used turnip drivers lol
This video was 4 months ago, of course the performance was different from now. I also did a test on 109 games if you want to check. The thing is many major titles in English perform better but jrpgs are not since that was not Yuzu team's.
5.lol I showed exactly how some save data worked but most don't. What are you talking about.
FYI, still not all save data can be loaded.
For example, animal crossing. You can try, i am not lying.
I've had none of the issues you mentioned. maybe you got a bad one it does happen from time to time.
Happy for you 😊 software issues basically solved after ota update. Ergonomics issues are not gonna be solved, i guess i will have to learn a special way to hold it.
you can also get a grid for it as well@@ETlandxoxo
@@JohnnySoulja88 it is already way to big for me. Adding that TPU shell makes it better tho
Hello 👋 have a great 2024 btw 😁😁😁.
You too 😊
😊👍😘
What a weird video review. I've seen plenty of people who only rave about certain products,
but this is the first time I've seen someone go out of their way to highlight only the negative things.
When leaning too hard in one direction, it makes the whole thing feel dishonest and very biased.
The ergonomics and software issues are valid concerns, noone else mentioned the google playstore issue, but you didn't have a single good thing to say after that.
You even brushed off what the Odin2 does best as a sidenote, which is emulation and didn't show or test a single game.
Switch doesn't count because everyone knows while switch emulation on android is certainly possible, it still has a lot of growing pains,
which further puzzles me as to why you bothered to show it at all and nothing else. Your comment even says you don't consider the non-perfect switch emulation as
a failing of the Odin 2, but at the same time you said "if you're not emulating Switch then what's the point?". Very contradictory, no?
Honestly, the entire video feels like some sort of strategy to garner views via ragebaiting the community and considering how unhinged
people can be on the internet, I'm probably right when I assume you've gotten a lot of nasty comments, which is unfortunate.
Just my opinion but I prefer reviews that have a more balanced approach to things, but thats just me.
I understand you points. But the positive reviews are flooding over RUclips, all the points you mentioned can be found in 99% of other reviews. Why do I have to repeat and be like the other 99%? So just like my title, i wanted to focus on the points that other don't mention. And that doesn't not mean I hate Odin 2. I just think someone has to point those out 😔
There are many people wanting to emulate switch on Odin 2, hoping the games they wanted to play is playable and trying to buy Odin2 for it. But most videos only show what Odin 2 can do but do not show the problems.
I don't know how those videos are considered non-biased.
I only want to point out those things that i would concern when buying Odin 2 but no one mentioned. So yes, this is a negative review. But no, this is not to harvest people's hatred and I mentioned that in my video too.
I cannot entertain everyone and I have no interest in being hated and attacked by random people. But what have to be pointed out, have to be pointed out. On the other hand, isn't it weird when the others only mention the good things about it? It is really hard to find a video that expresses a single concern on Odin 2.
Anyway, it seems like you have already got a bad impression on me. So probably everything i said would sound like excuses. All i want is to voice out from a different perspective, this market is dominated by males. Their reviews are good but not applicable to females in many ways, like ergonomics, usage, games of interest, etc.
Happy gaming.
System cashes ram no worries
Your O2 is really really cute
Thank you 😊
So no actual issues? That's kinda great!
May not be an issue for everyone.
about google sync: that is not exactly ayn's fault, it happens to me with my Xiaomi too
About the triggers: i like/prefer the ones on the odin 2, for racing games are perfect, i know there was a problem with some devices, the triggers were not activating until half of the travel but that was fixed (i never had that problem)
About the dpad: for me, is kind of meh... because i don't use the dpad too much, but i have an xbox one controller and the dpad feels almost the same... just a bit small...
About the saved data: yeah that is a problem with the encryption -.-" is a pita you need to move your data to the download folder and then move it with the file manager to the right location... if you don't do that, it will look like you moved the files but the files are corrupted.
I think ayn devices are kind of difficult for normal users, is more for users with some experience on emulation and android stuffs... I have the base and is working pretty amazing
I have been training myself to adapt to Odin 2, still triggers and dpad are not so comfortable for me.
Yuzu save data works now after a few updates. Things have been a lot better.
I think base model is the best option in terms of cost performance
Careful now. There’s a lot of Odin 2 fanboys that can’t take criticism.
Thx for the heads up. No worries. I have already been attacked 👌👌🫡 I don't hate this device, just want to point out a few things for fellow small handed people. Seems like that is not acceptable for them too, haha
I never understood fanboyism for electronic devices… lol. Maybe it’s just me, I think a lot of these handhelds actually kind of suck and it’s rare I find one I truly like. But I remember everyone jumping down my throat cause I didnt like the miyoo mini / miyoo mini plus cause it wasn’t comfortable and hurt my hands.
Do these people get paid to be such die hard fans of these devices? 😂
Also great video as usual @ETlandxoxo!
A lot of problems comes when people dont make start setup on this device . I mean all of gamers know , that when you want download something feom play store , first its better to update this app .
But i understand you 🤣 You look on the beautiful device , you heard a lot of good things and you cant wait to download games 😍😍😍 🤣
First at first ... Upates .... Second .... Forum and get info about solved problems on this device, all devices has problems .... Then you ready to go 🤣
Thx. I couldn't even get in play store so I just couldn't update it.
This is not my first android handheld, instead, I have quite a number of tutorials for android handheld on my channel:)
@@ETlandxoxo I mean system update not play store ..in the internet you can find a ,,first setup for Odin 2 ,,
No issue for me at all. Google play registration just took 20secs .
I watxh a lot of RUclips review before unboxing my pro version
Happy for you 😊
You picked switch games with issues . Yuzu fault not the odin and most have been fixed this week. Live a live works now for instance.
I make it very clear in the video that this is not odin's problem but since many people wanted to buy odin 2 for switch emulation, i just want to let them know what could happen and where should they set their expectations. And I also stated that yuzu has been improving a lot.
I do not understand the logic why a positive review reporting certain games can run on Odin 2 is acceptable but pointing out what is not going to run or work is not acceptable.
@@ETlandxoxoHi again! I've finally tried Switch emulation on my Odin and the games I've played did have very little issues! The emulator has greatly improved in just a couple days already, it's actually impressive! Super Mario 3D World, Super Mario Bros Wonder and Lil Gator Game were running pretty much flawlessly and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe only had minimal stutters here and there, nothing game breaking. I think anyone who's interested in Switch emulation should definitely look into tutorials, settings and especially Drivers to help them with performance issues though, as they often fix many problems
Yuzu nce is all about settings I play almlst every game in my s22 ultra in 60fps
I Love You🥹🫶
Hi, I think it's a real shame that you're having such problems with your beautiful white Odin 2. There are some people who have problems with the device. Personally, I only had a brief problem with a poor WiFi connection on my purple Odin 2, but luckily that's back to normal 😉 Maybe you really got a Monday device when it comes to the software. On the Hardware side, Vita Dpads click and move, which is normal and is also the case with the PS Vita and I don't think the triggers are that bad, well I hardly use them either😋 As a man with normal adult hands, I don't have any problems. But I believe that you're having problems with it Maybe it's just not the device for you unfortunately On the software side, Ayn could fix it with a replacement device. But you don't like the whole exterior😅 My tip is to send it back to Ayn and either get your money back or sell the working replacement device😉
Thank you for understanding and being so respectful 😊 it is true that my WiFi connection can get quite poor with my odin2 too. Not problematic but maybe not preferably for streaming sometimes. I believe my unit may be a Monday device, haha. I don't think i can get the money back from AYN since it is not broken. But i am trying to learn to like it now. I will keep it with me for a bit for the time being;)
