Se makes me such a nature person. The happiest most joyful times in my life are when I walk on the beach next to crashing waves, hike up mountains, and stop to take in the trees and the beauty around me, or go snowshoeing in a snow-covered forest with big snowflakes falling all around. I also found I like roller coasters and fair rides far more than most people. We would go to the fair and my friends would ride a few rides and then be done with it. I would want to keep going on the craziest rides that they had over and over. I would end up going on rides with total strangers because none of my friends wanted to keep going on them with me. I love decorating and painting my house and my mother told me once that I always seem to know how to pick out the best colors even if she thinks it won't look good at first it usually ends up looking great. On doing things in the here and now, I would suggest something like hey let's go have a picnic in the park and my ISFJ husband would just stand there and blink with a confused look on his face and then ask "You mean now?" Like his mind was blown that we could just decide to do something. That's one of the only things we've ever fought about. I want to do something fun and he gets all weird and grumpy because "we didn't plan it" and then I get annoyed that his grumpiness is ruining the experience I wanted us to have together. I still don't understand why he can't just do something but we've realized that if I give him a day's notice about something that we might be doing soon then it makes him happier and then I in turn am happier. I'm not really Artistic, but looking back I do have burst of creativeness sometimes. Like I made quilts for my kids bed and I always make my family members homemade birthday cakes. Or sometimes I randomly write things or edit videos. I definitely like my house to look a certain way too.
I love seeing Gloria and her perspective on these conversations! Enneagram 9 Gloria so cutee! Love her calm energy! SE conversation was so relatable with everyone! I also love listening to Jamila (singing and talking!!)
This panel is ✨🔥 Both my younger brothers are ISPs (1st is an ISTP and the last one is ISFP) and their Se is definitely more subtle in expression than our actual Se dom relatives. Their usage of Se can come up with what they like to involve themselves with or the talking points they focus on (ISTP brother is a bit pedantic and unrelenting with reality-based logic and doesn't entertain a lot of possibilities which I now understand is a way Ne-blind can express itself). I think my ISFP brother is more similar to Jamila and Anne and has been more Fi-Ni growing up and is actually the most unpredictable sibling in the household while we were younger because we weren't used to his "moods". I learned so much from here about aux Se :D thanks to everyone for sharing! Great job on this panel, Joyce ✨🎶
It’s weird how according to just letters we’re supposed to be complete opposites, but I could relate a lot to what they say especially how they use Se.
@@Zero_1_zero_ it's not weird, that's the very reason why, if you get past simplistic MBTI letter dichotomies and move on to Socionics you will find we are dual types, which in the theory is the ideal relationship. ENTJ, INTJ, ISFP & ESFP also form Gamma quadra which is a group of types bonded by the same valued functions and thus many of the same underlying attitudes and values in life. Another element to it is I have only seen people become more like their dual as they age, if they live an interesting enough life.
@@theloniusmonk1263 what I should have said is that despite Se being a tert function for us and a secondary function for ISFPs, it doesn’t seem to impact the overall nature of Se. Also I definitely agree with your point on letter dichotomies, but from the typical viewpoint of someone new to mbti, ISFP and ENTJ would seem to be complete opposites, which is not the case when you look at functions. I guess I’m more puzzled by the nature of letter typing. I.e ENTP and ENTJ would seem similar at first glance, but we don’t share any functions as we do with ISFPs (with “opposite” letters). It could even be seen as misleading for those who don’t do further research on functions.
@@Zero_1_zero_ it is misleading, MBTI as a system is fatally flawed. ENTPs and ENTJs share the same Temperament but are in separate quadras in socioncs, I recommended you read Filatova's introduction to socionics, it's a bit dated but still good. Also David Keirsey's "Personology" regarding Temperament.
I loved the Se discussions. Can relate to many of those trends. Literally laughed out loud about Kurt “free balling in the rain” 😂 going to steal that expression.
i love how u clarified Se as basking in the moment, as opposed to seeking experience. altho that in some way plays into it a little bit. i find i would rather enjoy the moment, but i also love being in charge of an itinerary and planning an experience, tho i do that maybe 10% of the time.
When Sheila was talking about painting a wall immediately vs her Si friend having to think about it for a month I related to both. When I was younger I wanted to change my walls whenever I felt like it, my family got so tired of me changing constantly that I got where I spent a lot of time thinking about what I wanted before doing anything because I was flakey.
Omg i feel so called out for making food metaphors too.😂 my friends ask me if im hungry. For me, Se pops out when i take walks on the cruise deck at night with the wind blasting all around me, me blasting my music through my headphones and singing loudly to the wind, wherever the wind takes my voice.. As an Enneagram 9 who works with kids. I also exercise my Fi-Se by tailoring and constantly perfecting the way I talk and treat the kids. N definitely the way i dress n do my interior decor has to be aesthetic to me
As an INTP, I found your discussion of how your SE and FI traits interact to create what Anne called "a loose comfort with the world" both interesting and oddly familiar. Because the way you describe the spontaneous enjoyment you can feel when sorting through and trying out fabrics and colors and physical sensations reminds me of how I sometimes feel when I am juggling words and ideas around in my mind with TI and NE. I could also relate to the way you all seem to feel more engaged with the process of working on a project than with the attainment of the final objective.
As an INTJ I find most of this stuff relatable and I feel as though I am maturing within one of the four sides of my mine which is an ISFP. Great group chat here!
I love this! I'm an ISFP and as a kid i used to draw and write all the time but then i seemed to grow out of it! I relate so much to all this Se stuff though. When i go on walks i'm always pointing out the beauty and stopping to look at flowers/trees/birds. And i looove touching different textures and sniffing things. I also like modifying my clothes - like making the sleeves shorter or tying a t shirt or ripping a pair of jeans etc.
The ability to manipulate reality seamlessly is also somewhat tied to the subconscious Ni pre-visualization ability and the Te understanding of how things work
Loved that Panel. Relate to a lot of the things you said. So maybe im not Ne but Se. Its just that i have this intense inner Body sensations and i fear them cause every little thing gets me to think i will die soon. lol. I heard so often that this is Si in the 4th Slot. Hmmm..So still not sure if I am an ENFP or an ESFP
definetly can I tell of th fodd will be good quality, just by the looks ;) goes with ISFP well. Or to know if this is 100 % wool or cotton etc. Very precise knowing and remembering and cataloging of different materials, for example, different woods...
Fi above Se: Ji/Di conditionally constrains the Pe/Oe explorative experience, exhibiting pickiness, in such a way as it becomes highly evocative of the Pi/Oi equivalent. But as they remains solely accountable to their own judgment, they retain a degree of the flexibility associated with the Pe/Oe archetype.
As an INFJ I don't like those stores where there are just random things, it's not branded in any way nor organised or categorised (I like antique shops for interiors but for clothes it needs to be organised). So going there I can't plan ahead in my mind what I'm going to get in this store. When I go shopping, I already know what I'll get in what store and have a route where to go first, second etc. And I love shopping as I'm a stylist :) Once I went shopping with someone who made it so slow that my back hurt in the end and I was really tired. When I shop, I scan the environment for what I want, so I shop fast and can therefore see more which excites me. Suffice to say, my Se is not too bad for an INFJ (it's still inferior in other parts than the aesthetic-visual). But the doing something because it has to be NOW or not reading instructions, not preparing your safety in situations where it's needed, that just feels bonkers to me and I'd have to stop the ISFP if they did that.
INTJ here all things is much related to me, accept I’m hesitating, pondering a lot when comes to action I’m look for a coincidence that’s might happen in a future as right or wrong.

24:24 - 32:24 this whole segment helped so much to understand how Se loves basking

Doesn’t want tasks to stack…YES!!!! Such a great observation.
thank you for another eye-opening dive into the self-critical tendencies of Fi-Se at 1:20:10 - 1:23:15
And so many of these Se-things inspire me!!

Sheila - My last name starts with an O. When I sign my name, I put a smiley face in the O. I do that on all documents, even important legal ones.

Wooow, Jamila can SING! Don't sleep on that ISFP talent!!!

These Isfps were wonderful and Jamila's voice, just yes
ISFPs are so calming
they are easily stressed though

I see myself in all of you-it resonets. Body dysmorfia, i agree. I had the same sensitivities. Very early

Maybe it is less about snobbery and more about specificity. They know precisely what they want, whatever that might be.

Hi Joyce, awesome how well your channel is growing. I'm curious - is everyone on here typed through OPS or is it varied? Thanks -
Only Sheila is officially OPS typed on this panel! 🙂
I have Se blind and It's so hard for me to get to a conclusion of what it is exactly
