    My Italian made 92FS that I bought new around 2012 had a roll pin holding in the main spring cap.
    If you have a roll pin you need to hammer it out with a punch it won't fall out and you can't push it out. I got hung up on that step for quite a while thinking I was just too week to compress the spring properly. It would have saved me a lot of effort to see that mentioned somewhere.
    Otherwise, great video my 92 is now sporting a D spring and an Elite II hammer and other than that one step these were great instructions, cheers!

      +Darik Datta Yea, wish they wouldn't use the Roll Pin in the Italian made 92's they are a Pain In The Ass to remove!

      In the italian roll pin versions that require hammering, do you still need to compress while hammering? This is so confusing to me.

    As a L/E Firearms Trainer and Armorer I have always found the P Beretta Family and their sales rep's and service people to be very friendly and attentive. Wish I could say the same about Sig Sauer!

      wish my agency could say the samething about beretta. We switched to s&w when beretta le reps ignored our phone calls. Then failed to service our weapons after numerous problems.

      +Jamal Mckenzie Never cared for polymer Pistols and I was sad to see that they discontinued Italian production of Cougar pistols. I do like the Glock and own a few. But the Px4 Storm is something I don't care for. 9mm is my caliber choice and most police dept's who use 40 cal pistols are reconsidering the use of 40.SW. 40 cal pistols (Steel,Alloy and Polymer) are breaking down due to the increase in operating pressure! I retired a few years ago and have not talked to the Beretta people (with the exception of a small circle.) so I can't vouch for your Dept's The NYPD has tested the S&W M&P line and the results are not good, Hope your job has luck with them!

    Great instructional video. I had a little trouble removing my main spring pin. Even with main spring removed it was impossible to re insert by any means of finger pressure. Will take to local gun smith later to get it looked at.

    Excellent video. I just received my skeletonized hammer in the mail last week. I appreciate you taking the time to tell the viewers WHY some thing needs to be done a certain way and WHY not to do certain things. (ex. Dry firing with the slide removed) Seeing you struggle with the main spring cap helps me understand what I can expect when I do install my new hammer. What size punch did you use? Even better, what size punch(es) should I get for working on my Beretta handguns? Is that hammer spring the one that some people choose to replace with a 'D spring' for a lighter DA trigger pull?

    When check if the weapon is clear, always remove the magazine first, not rock the slide first, otherwise you could load a round into the chamber.

    The hammer is always made of metal, regardless of its color.

    Not close enough. Doesn't your camera have a zoom? Fill the frame, elbows touching the right and left frames. Can't see much as it is.

    When dealing with novices the instruction "remove the slide and slide assembly" should probably include an explanation on how to do that step!

    Will this hammer work on the 92X? I heard of some installing the LTT OPTB where it had to be fitted or left alone. The left alone was because da/sa worked fine with the slide on but without the slide trigger was dead.

    I can't seem to get the main spring pin out. Brand new gun (300 rounds). What am I doing wrong? Tried various amounts of pressure on spring. Could it be stuck or bent?

    I have a Beretta 92S Italian version bought back in 1980ish. I tried to rep[lace my grips but the hammer pin seems to be sticking out just a bit and the new grips wont seat. Is this a known issue or does the pin always stick out a bit? my guess is about 1/8th of an inch.

    do you need a new spring???
    I saw another video with someone talking about a double action spring vs single action??? no clue... I just took apart my 92fs to see if I could do it and its pretty easy. just need a screwdriver flat head, and elbow grease to get it out.

      Diablowuff you don't need a new spring but people replace the spring with a d.spring

    Does changing hammers void the warranty?

  • @quantumreaper5683
    @quantumreaper5683 8 лет назад

    So I changed the hammer and kept the old spring in there, but now the trigger is much harder to pull in double action and the hammer drops with more force.
    Everything was replaced the way it should so i'm concerned.
    Any suggestions or is that normal?

    • @rantex0074
      @rantex0074 7 лет назад

      Did you make sure that the trigger spring was placed back on the top of trigger bar guide when you inserted trigger bar back through the trigger. .
      When the trigger bar is removed, the trigger spring drops and needs to be replace back on top when trigger bar is put back in place..
      Using a minni flat head screw driver lift the trigger spring, insert the trigger bar rod thru the trigger. the spring will rest on top of rod, also when pushing bar in doing this you might hear a snap, no problem that just means your back in business
      If the spring is not set on top of trigger bar rod the trigger is very, very hard to pull in double action and might damage the pistol if your shooting with out trigger spring not set properly.

      MadavTV it's most likely an Italian made 92fs with a roll pin. You'll have to hammer the pin out.

    Improper clearing procedure.
    Only other criticism is the video would be far more instructive it you guys at Beretta would use macro photography. Presenter otherwise, as usual, did a good job.
