    Dude let me say this video just convinced me to pull the trigger and finally build my own HiCapa for this coming season. Was going to go stock but I’m confident now in seeing how and where other things are !

      Oh, that's exciting haha. I did run mine stock for over a year till I slowly acquired the upgrades. Stock still performed great. The build wasn't too intimidating! Good luck.

    Any issues so far? Also, I’m thinking of doing this and putting a mock suppressor on the barrel threads so I can cover a longer inner barrel, do you think that’s a good idea? Any tips for that kind of job?

    • @DucknDiveAirsoft
      @DucknDiveAirsoft  3 года назад +2

      Hey, no issues so far! I have seen some wear marks on the outter where I expected (top rear, bottom front), but I think a metal to metal grease and regular maintenance will help prevent any excessive rubbing/feeding/cycle issues. If you notice more wear on the outter or cycle issues I would lightly grease those locations (don't get any in the inner barrel or hop). If the supressor is a foam filed plastic type or aluminum light weight body it's probably OK. My next upgrade coming later is an aluminum upper receiver which is also by airsoft masterpiece (matching brand helps fit), and I just test fit it and it's already feeling more like a glove too 😁👌.

      @@DucknDiveAirsoft yes! I’m gonna snag me a masterpiece aluminum slide as well, to skip the issues with the stock slide all together. You have any thoughts on the longer inner barrel? You think it’s a good idea? (I’m wondering if the excessive length of the barrel may actually be a hindrance or not)

      @@nathanski9268 I don't have experience adding longer inner barrels to pistols, but if you are looking for increased accuracy and range I would look into a tightbore barrel and maple leaf hop and bucking. I feel this pistol has great range and accuracy outdoors even only shooting 1J. I've definitely gotten good kills at impressive range 👌.

      @@DucknDiveAirsoft thanks for the input man. I play at Ballahack Airsoft Field, so I need the range and power on my side arm. @@nathanski9268 will do and thanks! I'm just starting into the hi capa rabbit hole haha. Check out ruclips.net/video/-5qkvz-szUQ/видео.html near the last 20 seconds I land a shot at about 100ft. I'd say that range is definitely comfortable with the barrel and hop upgrade on an otherwise stock TM hicapa. I use 0.3g bbs outdoors too (for information) . Cool to see these videos reach outside my local area haha, and your local field looks great too (and huge! )... only 2500 miles away from me 😅.

    Hey, what was the inner barrel length ? I’ve got a 118mm and wondering if that’s too long for a tracer ?

    • @DucknDiveAirsoft
      @DucknDiveAirsoft  Месяц назад +1

      The stock barrel is 112 mm for the TM hicapa 5.1 (assuming your talking the 5.1!). It sits just inside the outter barrel. There is still a little bit more room to accommodate the 6mm difference your talking (118 vs 112) and with a 118 mm it would probably be pretty much flush to the outside face of the outter barrel at that point. Most tracers sensors won't sit that far back, but if the barrel were to protrude too far into the tracer your right it would not detect the bbs because the sensor would be blocked by the inner barrel. Usually barrels can stick past the outter barrel and still work with a tracer but that is highly dependent on the tracer design and by how much it sticks past. My best guess is you should be alright. If you already have the barrel just trial and error it or test it out.

    I bought the same outer barrel.
    But , I cannot put my stock inner barrel into it and they jammed when i pull my slide same as on your video.
    How do you fix that?

    • @DucknDiveAirsoft
      @DucknDiveAirsoft  2 года назад +1

      I assume you are referring to a stock TM barrel and hopup. I don't know exactly how other hi capa brand hop units will fit but it should all be TM spec based otherwise the hop could have a fit issue with the outer barrel. The outer barrel is mostly hollow. The inner barrel can easily slip out of the outer barrel as you reinstall your upper assembly. When you install the inner barrel, make sure the tip of the barrel is seated inside the outer barrel with full contact between the two at the top without the inner barrel wobbling. As you slip the outer and inner barrel into the upper assembly be careful to keep them secured together as there is a chance the inner barrel may slip out of alignment at the tip of the outer barrel. It would have been better if the outer barrel were a constant inside diameter the full length but that adds weight.

    How do i put a tracer on the new outer barrel,it seems that I need a adapter but I can't find one

    • @DucknDiveAirsoft
      @DucknDiveAirsoft  Год назад +2

      It depends on your tracer. Some tracers are meant for 14mm threads for use on a typical rifle, which would require an adaptor for the edge hi capa threaded outter barrel. The barrel has a 11 clock wise inner thread. You want to search probably for a male 14mm ccw to male 11mm cw adaptor I believe but check the specs for your tracer first to confirm. Some tracers come with the adaptor in the box.

    • @DucknDiveAirsoft
      @DucknDiveAirsoft  3 месяца назад

      @@Greensofter if you have the stock slide I wouldn't use a stiffer spring because it can crack the stock TM slide. An aftermarket aluminum slide can handle a stronger spring which could potentially help it cycle better but it depends why it started not cycling well in the first place. The actusl outer barrel itself shouldn't effect your cycle unless it's not fit well.

    • @DucknDiveAirsoft

      When you rack it see if there is any obvious points where it's binding, catching or wearing at all. You may need modifications for a perfect fit. For my stock TM Hicapa 5.1 I found no issues. I also had no problem with the barrel on the airsoft masterpiece edge slide.

      @@samietofu5925 fire a bunch of rounds or rakc it for a bit and just keep checking for some wear on the barrel or frame. There has to be a pinch point somewhere if it's that tough to rack. Airsoft tolerances are not perfect so every combination of parts even the same ones tried and true may not always have the same results. I also applied a thick grease to obvious contact points. If your hicapa is new it might need to be broken in a bit too. I had played with mine stock for almost two years before I did the outter barrel so it was fairly well worn in.

    • @DucknDiveAirsoft
      @DucknDiveAirsoft  2 года назад

      I assume you mean the noisemaker adaptor from madbull? It looks like it can be made to fit with an adaptor. The threaded inner barrel is internally threaded at its end so is the noisemaker adaptor so you would need another adaptor to suit. It looks like with two adaptors at the end it might be getting pretty heavy though.

      @@gabrielwinding2848 I thought you were referring to this attachment: www.redwolfairsoft.com/accessories-silencers-madbull-noise-maker-14mm-ccw.html. If you are just referring to an amplifyer (such as the noveske kx3) then 100% you just need one adapter such as the cowcow A01 adaptor (11mm to 14mm). There are probably smaller adaptors too that would work just as well and be lighter (aluminum).
