- If you plan to use your Raspberry Pi as a desktop computer, then one of the key functionalities you'll need is the ability to print. Although it's not as easy as just plugging in a printer, it's still not a difficult process. You just need to know the right programs to install! So let me show you!

I grew up watching your channel, and it's so nice to see it still going strong. I remember all the different logos you went through :)

Bro, you are killing it with your new content! Too much love and respect from Tunisia
Damn I used to watch this channel like 6 years ago when I was all into tech. Now I’m 21 and almost have a degree in studio art lol

I did an RPI print server few months ago so I could print from other computers, highly useful in this lockdown times... Our old printer only works with foo2zjs drivers, sadly it is only partly useful since it does not support manual duplex.
You're right. Printing is basically the only thing computers have always had.
Thanks for this great video, Tinkernut! This is also super useful for other Linux distributions, such as my Arch Linux install, on an X86 machine.
Thx for the great video! Any advice which is the best solution to print from my Android tablet on my CUPS server?
Cool, add avahi to make it airprint compatible
0:40 that picture is an old rpi almost prehistoric. haven't had a working printer for almost a decade.
please, make a video about PiVPN.
Is there something like this but for scanning? Would be a very nice ting to scan directly to a shared folder or something like that.
I too am wondering about this
Got a question. I setup my Pi just fine, only problem is I can only print 3 pages at a time. I am am sure this has something to do with the memory on the PI. Is there a setting somewhere that allows me to use the hard drive as memory?
Only problem with canon printers since arm x86 drivers are not available.
Is there a way to setup cups when creating a boot SD card? Say a config file. Isn't that what the web interface is doing?
You're right.
The latest Raspberry Pi OS (2020 Dec 2) now just 'works' - no need for all the setup :)
oh no! my tinker brains evolving
"Open source and apple? Weird"
Clearly never seen WebKit.
sweet, but what about scanning documents?
There is SANE to do that.
I have installed HP Deskjet 1212 printer on my raspi zero. It is working fine and am able to print pdfs perfectly. However, after enabling overlayFS (making the SD card readonly) printing doesn't work. Again when I disable overlayFS (make the SD read/write) it works fine as earlier. All functions of raspi work fine when overlayFS is enabled except for printing. Enabling overlayFS is crucial for the deployment of my application. What I see in /var/log/cups/error_log is a 'filter-failed' error. I'm sure it's not the real problem as filter is working fine when overlayFS is disabled. Any help would be appreciated.
Help me !!!!!! I am using a EPSON_L380_SERIES Printer with my windows computer, but want to use it with my Raspberry pi 4. CUPS is preinstalled on my raspberry pi os , but I am unable to find the driver for L380 in the database (directly in rpi) as well as in the CUPS web interface. I experiment by adding the L385 driver and the printer respond with some un-recognized characters. Please help me to install the correct L380 driver. Please....please....please
Print is easy but to get the scanner to work are the real problem
Or they could just include it with the OS.

Apparently your website is blocked in Cyprus by the ISP just a FYI.
It was the Amiga not the Mac!
Dude....Could you go any faster?
