I am embedded system engineer and I can say he do such a great job. He extract all the base parts and made his video. There are no second wasted or nonsense.
One day the fond memories of the Tinkernut channel resurfaced from my subconscious after many, many years of hibernation. Naturally I came here to see where this channel is now and I am pleasantly surprised to see that even after all these years and events you're still posting videos. You still even have the same music and animations from all the way back when I was a regular viewer way back in elementary or middle school; I have since graduated college with an EE degree. It seems like it's rare to see a channel that's been active for this long that hasn't drastically changed over a number of years. Also, you don't look a day older than you did 8+ years ago. Glad I ran into you again after all these years :)
I knew this stuff already but it was nice to see it again. I actually learned about the raspberry pi form you and asked for one for my 15th birthday. A shame it died a few days ago. RIP raspberry pi 1 model b. 2012-2019
@@hennarkilsen1389 a little capacitor connected near the micro usb port came off. That pi has moved with me quite a bit over the years so I guess over time it came loose. I believe it was there to filter the power going to the pi and without it the pi slowly burned out. It was serving as a pihole server and I only noticed something was up when I got ads again.
I was watching a video about the Raspberry Pi and this video was in my recommended. I used to watch Tinkernut a lot. It's the channel where I first found out about the Pi when he was talking wireless streaming to a TV years ago. Glad to see he's still making videos.
Is it possible to program it from outside and then send the software to the pi as I do on Arduino? I find very frustrating using the pi for programming.
I'm very very new to this and I want my first project to be making a PipBoy from Fallout. Would you please do some type of video for such a project, please and thank you? I learn best when it involves something I'm invested in to the point of obsession 😅
The I/O pins... Are they strictly on or off, or can they be programmed to deliver a certain voltage? I guess... Are they digital only or can they be analog, too?
Even if it is fun to use raspberry pi as a standalone computer it is cumbersome, you have to connect all extra peripherals you may not have lying around and it is much easier to type on regular laptop/pc with big screen than that tiny screen. If you want to build and run something it takes forever to build the code on a Pi. can you make a tutorial on how to setup a cross build and debug environment for linux SBCs (Pi/BBB etc.) on linux and possibly on windows. I could not find any good tutorial for this on internet.
5:42 interesting, does the Pi need to know the output is connected to an LED? What if you just "High" signal to Pin17? Is there a more generic command?
I'm interested in doing the same thing. One thing that's giving me pause is that I've heard that the Arduino uses 5 volts on it's pins and the Pi uses 3.3v. There seems to be a lot more stuff available for the Arduino. (especially in my parts collection) Is there a voltage conversion board for the PI's GPIO pins, or do you even need one?
What is flashing ? Why do we need something like balena etcher ? Why simply copying uncompressed files from images doesn't work ? This is the doubt of my life...
Hi, this is Hanna, I'm very interested in your channel. I'm writing to wonder if you're interested in demonstrating Coral Edge TPU hardware, doing some demo testing and review? I'm from Gravitylink, one of Google Coral's global distributors. We'd like to offer you one if you wanna try to show some demo testing on your channel. Looking forward to your reply! Thank you so much.
Jesus is King! If you do not know Jesus as Savior please pray, “ Jesus save me. At this moment I choose to have faith that You gave Your life for me and rose from the dead. Doing this You defeated death, even though it meant You had to die. You surrendered Your life for me, so I chose to surrender my life to You. Forgive me Jesus, my God. Amen.” Jesus loves you so much. Please accept His love. I encourage you to read the Bible and pray. “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only begotten Son into this world, that whoever believes that in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16 🙏❤️🙏 Jesus is enough! Again I tell you, Jesus loves you!❤️
I forgot your channel existed, watched this a lot 10 years ago. Finally came across it again, loving your current content so far!
14 years later 😇

That’s a cool job. Mind if I ask what type of education you’ve got?

This is the most informative content I have ever seen
I may be wrong, but this is the most informative start guide so far I found in a short video. Thank you!
You are not wrong, the video is just AWSOME!!!!😊😊😊

Super point zero start! THANK YOU!!!
Thank you great tutorial
Really like the illustrations 👍

Good stuff. I love the pace. Straight forward, concise! Cheers
Where you is? You're hard work providing information is appreciated.
Im wondering the same. Seems to have fallen off the earth :(
Thank you 👍this is useful stuff.
Thank you so much it realy helped!
I don't really have a raspberry pi (yet maybe?) but do you just put the LEDs and the button in random places or these exactly?
Thanks for your hard work on the videos....
Great🙏🙏🙏
Great video
That's only me or there is some distortions in audio?
Slightly yeah. Almost as if he was leaning closer and farther away from the mic at some points.
Speed it up to 1.25 or 1.5
i thought my headset is having issues 🤣
I can't hear distorions

Amazing channel! Hopefully more content will soon get released
Thank you
Good stuff.
1% of what I need, but still great
Nice vid
is the files which u flashed in the sd card, are the program for making a pc
Did he use some sort of extra board on top of the the PI pins?
awesome!
Nice explanation, what a about a little project to control a pair of motors with some sensor light as input or something?
The I/O pins... Are they strictly on or off, or can they be programmed to deliver a certain voltage? I guess... Are they digital only or can they be analog, too?
Idea for next project? Home intercom (3+) based om Mumble server and RPI Zeros. A lot of people will be interested and you have done a lot already ;)
If I flash it can I unflash it and still use the as card?
Yes ! Just reformat it and you have an unbootable card 😜
what program do you use to make the pictures of the pi?
Waiting for more videos ... Want to learn more from your experience
I forgot this channel existed. When’s the next video being uploaded?
why is the cursor shaking like nuts?
Can I just connect the pie to my laptop and use my laptops screen, keyboard and mouse instead of three separate devices?
And if I can how?
No, I don't think you can do that..You may want to use a USB hub and MicroHDMI converter..✌
@@kittyalvares thank you
Well...You can use vnc
Look into "headless raspberry pi setup" if you are fine with using your RPi over the command line.
Yes, absolutely, via ssh and or VNC!!! There is plenty of tutorials
@Trinkernut what do I do if my computer screen looks cracked and it's white and black

Hello hope you and your family are doing well.
Could you make a raspberry pie controlled hydroponics system
To all new people, raspian is now called raspberry pi os
The old song is BACK!!!!!
Great overview, nicely done!
great
Just use pi imager by dpi foundation. Works better
Can I make my own private cloud storage by using pi?
yeah, look for NAS, Network attached storage
Are you not doing videos any longer? Sure miss them! Hope you and yours are okay.
Thanks! (Maybe you will want a pop filter)
3:37 Excuse me! Which Raspbian image file?
5:42 interesting, does the Pi need to know the output is connected to an LED? What if you just "High" signal to Pin17? Is there a more generic command?
kool!
Can you do one on how to install Roblox (full game) on raspberry pi 4?
roblox is not officially on linux, but you could try to use wine
Does anyone know how to make something like a raspberry pie ???
How can you rlturn on an led from java or fortran?
Everyone shows how to do it in python, nobody shows how to do it in something more complex
👍👍👍👍
Noice
im trying to switch from arduino to rasberry pi, mainly because raspberry pi has more features compared to arduino, and a more powerful chip

Do more Python videos
Good video but is it just me or did the audio get really fucked up in leveling
