Eli, thank you for your videos.. I started watching 6 years ago trying to learn AD to leave a dead end job and move into IT. Now I’m making 6 figures as an Engineer and my life is dramatically different. It all started with your channel. Thank you!
Thank you Eli! This is so helpful at getting a quick basic understanding of the overall tool in Pi. I am learning R Language, Tableau, SQL in different configs at the same time and I have noticed that R Language is very similar. I need the simplicity lol so again... THANK YOU!!!!
I have just gotten a Pi 4 to keep my brain in gear. When I was a programmer folk's kept saying how great Python was so I thought I'd have a look since walking the dog can't be all that retirement is about. I found this presentation very interesting and helpful. I banged my head on the wall, when having quickly hunted down a pdf of the Dummies book, I hit play only for you to say how it was deprecated duhhh! (Maybe the non python initial chapters may be of some use?). I agree entirely with your view on IDE's, 'horses for courses' etc. I worked on a project once based on using SMX, and of a sudden they changed it to ThreadX because the IDE was better. Bloody mental I thought. An IDE is a tool, a craftsman knows how to use different tools for the best result. :-)
Thanks for the video Eli. Great format and content as usual. I have been subscribed for a few years now and YES I have noticed that you are not as visible as you once were. I have unsubscribed and Subscribed to see if you start popping up on my youtube radar. I was having some issues with my Raspberry PI / python code for gpio sensor so thought i would look to your video for help. AND IT DID! So i thought i would start from scratch with your Raspberry PI tutorial. Keep up the splendid work!
This vid is great! Im trying to learn about how to code in Python and stuff like that before I buy my raspberry pi and all my accessories. Thanks for the vids!
Hey got a question...is it really true that you can get started with Python using the Raspberry PI....or any similar PI alternatives? I'm trying to learn Python and Blender, and I just bought a $550 HP just for that purpose. And it has 16 GB of ram.
hey dude do you remember about the jarvis project using raspberry pi which i have asked about you before ...i have completed it and its getting good response in my channel now...thanks dear
Can you please show us how to run any Python script on RPi and see the simulation on mission planner ? A Pixhawk will also be need for that right ? A small video about this would be very helpful, thank you in advance
I am part of a radio astronomy project ,which will be online hopefully this year, one of the control units will be using Raspi..with python..I'll be editing code..
I don't use my official RB case as a case either. Only for display, cause it insulates the board, and doesn't let it breath or cool down, even when the lid is off.
Hey, I'm need to run machine learning algorithms on a embedded system. Raspberry Pi seems like a fast board to run tensorflow lite. Will I also be able to run GPIO functions alongside tensorflow functions? Thanks in advance
Which raspberry Pi version should I start with or does it matter my assumption is they’re small computers and the newer version just means it’s faster?
pi 4 2gb ram is among the best bang for buck. pi zero wifi is the minimum id go for. the pi 4 2gb or pi 3b seem to be the go to boards. the one gain i can think of for the pi 3 is it has a full hdmi port instead of two micro hdmi. the pi 4 can run two screens but full hdmi can be convenient . Im working on an 8 gb ram pi4 because its faster and i like prototyping on it then i can send code over to less expensive boards for dedicated projects. if you prefer making robots that take analog data too you may consider an arduino. they dont connect to the internet but they are low power draw and can take 6-20 volts and convert them to 5v. the biggest downside is they are programmed in c++ but if you use platform ide you arent missing out on much.
already 5 minutes passed, suddenly I thought , hey !!!! why is the class so interactive to me ? It's like I am sitting in front of a real class. Were you talking to a person behind the camera , or, is this just a magic of your persuasive interaction with students ?
Question....I just spent $500 plus on a refurb HP laptop, for the purposes of learning Python are you telling me that all I needed was to buy a Raspberry pi...or even a 4 GB laptop?
I know I'm late to the game, but there's a reason both Python 2x & 3X are loaded. Many Linux distros use Python 2x to do updates and those updates will fail if you remove 2x.
I’m sorry to bother but if you could help me with my problem that would be amazing. I have a raspberry pi zero and I have the exact same desktop that I see on your screen at time stamp 6:07 but for my one in the top right corner I have x’s on the WiFi and it gives me a “no interfaces found” message when I click on it. I feel like I’ve tried everything and I’m a beginner too so that doesn’t help that I don’t know much. If you have any advice for me that would be great. Thank you and have a great day.
i have this problem, i just got raspberry pi zero 2. And if i download the desktop version it’s just so slow that i can’t do basiclly anything on it. is it fixable or is the raspberry that im using just not powerful enough?
I suggest using the sd card in a 4 or 5 to set it up, and then stick the card in the zero to run. The zero is good for very simple tasks mainly without a GUI. The GUI on the zero is good to run a slide show for digital signage, and that's about it.
Helpful video! My son Daan is an advanced programmer and likes to program pi4 using python code, he wants to create equivalent of Amazon Alexa voice command system, in the end by voice also activating peripherals such as lights and security cameras. Can you provide us with more advanced python tutorials to do this? And/or can you advice another programming code which perhaps is more effective than python?
Hello Eli. My name is Ken Flucas. I purchased the Python for Dummies book. In the book it says it will use Anaconda throughout the book. I've tried downloading Anaconda on my Raspberry Pi but it falls each time. I found a forum where someone said that Anaconda is not compatible with the Raspberry Pi processor & that's why the download fails. Do you know this to be true? Or do you know a way to properly load Anaconda with VS Code on the Raspberry Pi 4? Thank you.
When reading the program, the assignment operator should be pronounced "is assigned" not "equals". So, pir = MotionSensor(4) would be read "pir is assigned MotionSensor four" . Many instructors make this mistake. "Equals" is a comparison operator, which in Python is "==". The equal sign, =, is an assignment operator.
I just got a Rasberry pi 4 8gb, and I'm just waiting for it to udate all its files, I'm well versed in Python since four years straight this Christmas come and gone.
Hello Sir, how can i update my python version and how can i load libraries i will need into thonny. Everythime i load a library with pip3, it says in thonny, that this library isnt loaded. Do i have to install it seperatly in thonny somewhere?
I'm Brazilian, my name is Renan, I have an interest in learning web designer and programming in python, but I have nowhere to practice, I would like to have access to the raspberry pi, more here in Brazil with the current dollar quote, the equipment that was supposed to be easy access, very expensive, between R $ 500 and R $ 1000, with a minimum wage of R $ 1060, I am not able to acquire. would it be possible to help me in any way? Many people are upset with this subject. However, the Raspberry Pi Group provide countless examples that work. No one else does this big time.
it doesn't make sense, and this platform is not being developed. this board can only be programmed as "bare metal". this requires good and honest documentation. the manufacturer does not provide it to the user. it is explained that the reason for this is security. it is necessary to involve adult people, not children, for Python programming.

Question...do you mean to tell me that all I would need to learn Python and work in that arena, is a Raspberry PI? Or any similar device?
I know you're not looking at comments but, thank you! Coding looked so daunting to me but now I'm having fun with it! Thank you thank you!
It's programming, not coding. A code is a cypher.
Was watching another raspi tutorial and saw Eli had one and immediately switched to this video 😁
