Turbot have got to be one of the most beautiful sea fish out there. I've never caught one, but had the pleasure of seeing a 28lb specimen caught and returned in Shetland a few years back. Great video.
Thank you for watching. I appreciate every single comment also. I totally agree, my passion for flatfish is obsessive 😅 . As you rightly say, Turbot are a stunning fish, and every single fish has unique colours and markings.
Green skeer a bit further north from where you were on the beach is a great bass spot. I had a few on spinners last year as well for the first time ever, just as the sun was going down. Tight lines
Hiya Darren. What can I say an absolute stunning video mucker that turbot capped a fantastic day. What a session buddy very very well done sir 👏 👍. Take care and tight lines 👍
I am envious of myself!! Is that possible? 😅. Fish of the year so far. Thank you for commenting and if course spending your time to watch. Tight lines.
We have a stunning coastline David. So lucky. We are without Ray's, Hounds etc in the Summer months but there is so much more to fish for and targets to achieve. Thus is why I love fishing do much 😊. Thank you for taking the time to comment and watch. Tight lines
Great Turbot Darren, not managed to cross it off my species list yet so as always this has been a great vid for picking up your hints and tips. Appreciate all your hard work, time and investment that regularly helps me with my angling
Thank you, Gary. Turbot this size are quite rare from the shore in the North East. There have been bigger reported over the years. With that in mind, it just shows right time right place. It's the excitement of the hunt 🙂
Great little video that, thoroughly enjoyed it and informative good tips. Well done on the three species flat fish, then that whopper Turbot delighted for you well done, you've spurred me on gonna give that a go. Thanks a lot and tight lines matey
Hi John, that's what it's all about 😁. If I can get people motivated to get out and give it a go, then I am a happy man. I really cannot keep myself away from the water. Thank you so much for watching. Tight lines.
@@northeastangling no worries mate, thank you very much, hopefully I'll catch a Turbot on mackeral kebab chunks tight lines and keep up the great work.
Well done Daz on the pb . Same happend to me on Whitley beach derg pissed on me box dropped me chesties and told the owner to sand still while I returned the favour he didn't know what to say 😂😂
Class mate over the moon for you. Nothing better than setting off for a specific species and catching it, let alone getting a specimen like that. Love that beach too. Be up there for some bars of silver soon
I was going to hit Embelton, but I had a fishy feeling! It's great when time ,conditions and tide all come together with your tactics. It's rare for me ! Thank you for your comment and watching. Tight lines.
Love ya channel mate. Found it a week ago as I got a caravan at cresswell. Was looking for some fishing spots around the area. Got my self a few bass and a load of flounder. Brilliant area. Not big fish but still fun anyways. Looks like your on Druridge Bay not cresswell beach though. Cresswell beach is full of coke from the power station. Brilliant vids so you have a new subscriber
Some love it, and some hate it. I personally love it. I have a fascination with flatfish, especially Turbot. The only species I have missed this year were plaice, unfortunately . Thank you for watching 👍
Did not know Turbot are so prolific there.Lovely fish your PB.Not really targeted from the shore here in Dorset.Have caught some ''dustbin lids'' out on the boat from Channel Islands years ago.Think the resource is pretty much exhausted now due to years of commercial pressure..being highly prized as table fare...
Cheers for watching Jon. They are not the most prolific up here, and those you catch are generally immature fish under 1 pound from the shore. Well worth the challenge.
@jpdorsethq1280 I have seen a few videos on the lads catching them from rock marks further South. Ireland seems to have some great Turbot beaches too. So many great places in the UK 🙂
Hi I am heading to Cresswell next week for a holiday bringing 2 rods with me, where is the nearest bait/tackle shop and also does it fish at all states of the tied. tia
Hi Martyn. Thank you for watching. The beach is fishing well at the moment. The tides are smaller next week if I'm not mistaken. It does fish at all states of the tide 👍. If you want Bass, fish into darkness fir best chance. McDermotts of Ashington is your closest tackle shop, with Sports and Leasiure Blyth nearby too. Tight lines 👍
Hi, Dark patches of flat water in between surf generally donate deep water. Swells do not crest over deep water, only the shallows. Hope this helps 🙏. Thank you for watching 👍
Hi Simon, of course there is. Just send me a message on the Facebook page or drop me an email my chum 👍 Northeastanglinguk@gmail.com facebook.com/northeastanglinguk
The huge smile after catching that wonderful turbot says it all. Another great video. Thanks.

@@northeastangling I tend to look at all your dvds as you are a down to earth lad no fancy gear just plain fishing on the north east coast.

Is that below caravan park or ice cream shop I have a caravan on golden sands
The whole beach fishes well, given the correct conditions. I fished just North of the Carrs as I spotted a deep section but these move.
