The yellow GT R is now here! It's been a long wait, but it's now been wrapped by Dub Customs ready and set for the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Thanks to Autodoc for supporting today's video where the GT R is wrapped in what we're calling 'Solar Dub' - don't be confused by the colour under the specific lighting, it's not green like the camera makes it look but fully yellow!
Maybe black out the badges to fit in with the yellow & black theme. Chrome doesn’t quite fit. Nonetheless the car looks absolutely killer. Can’t wait to see it in proper daylight. 🔥👍

GT R is certainly looking cool. I had not heard of PPF and the vinyl in which you have wrapped your GT R prior to stumbling on your videos. I am quite impressed with the way PPF protects the vehicles, and how one can use vinyl wraps to give make an old car look exciting again. The Aston Martin in this video sounded awesome, quite enjoyed the sound. Thanks for recording that bit.
That is just beautiful, that wrap makes the car look spectacular. It complements the design so well and I have never seen any version of the AMG GT look that amazing (even the widebody ones). Congratulations Tim, it is like a brand new car : )
Hi Tim. TV and Film Lighting crew member here. When filming on location, one of the first thing we do to prepare for filming is to replace or colour correct the fluorescent lighting, as most fluorescent tubes have a big green spike in the colour spectrum. It is also possible that your camera's white balance settings might be biased towards green. The car looks amazing though, great choice!.
Hey Tim If your camera is not showing colours as you would like try adjusting or resetting the white balance. This may help. Sometimes pointing the camera at a sheet of white paper or better still a test card and resetting the white balance will solove the issue. Like the videos.
Tim, I for one think the wrap looks absolutely incredible. I wasn't sure at first because the black looked so beautiful and as a detailer I really appreciate such fine paintwork. But man that dub solar yellow does look great. Also, this is a proper project car. I know you have the focus RS, but this is definitely a proper project car as well. And therefore I do think you should push the power a bit more. I mean, would you not want to know what more power feels like in this autobahn monster? Go for it dude, this car is becoming legendary.
if you are saying the difference in color on screen and physically looking at it is that off that you see green instead of yellow, i am pretty sure it had to do with your camera color gaumet spacing. make sure the color temp on your cam is not pre set and is manually adjusted according to the surrounding lighting. you could get a small color calibration tester for that. and also i hope you are recording in S log or raw instead of direct mp4 compression. that degrades color compression. please look into this.
i've always loved the solar beam yellow paint from the sls black series. i've been waiting for this colour change, hope you keep it for a long time tim!
yes, fluorescent lights (those not adjusted as 'daylight') have a very blue color signature. Incandescents will add amber. You've put slightly transparent yellow over black, so that adds an olive cast, and the reflection of the blue sky will also add a greenish top tint.
Looking Awesome Tim. Can't wait to see it in full daylight. Color shift is normal for photography and videography which is why so many people make a living touching up pictures and video. Not sure if you started your recording by using a white balance card or not, but that might help mitigate some of the shift. Performing color correction on the video clips might also help a little, but the editing time would be exponentially longer which might not fit in with your shooting schedule. Still great work though, so keep on shooting and keeping us informed and entertained. ;-)
I think it looks great, your cars will certainly stand out now with this and the Focus RS. It's interesting how people's opinions vary on what you've done between RUclips and Facebook, everyone seems pretty negative as a whole on FB from what I've seen.
What a nice finish to match the interior bitz. I bet it feels like a brand new car every time you wrap a car and drive it for the first time. What reactions do you get driving with the yellow on the main roads?
Looks terrific Tim. I like it even better than the black. The installers did a very nice job. Did not look green at all on my monitor, more old gold than bright yellow.

@shmee150 the reason the car looks green in part is because the way the sensor perceives certain yellows derives from a combination of green. The cars yellow is just too strong for the pixels to manage the information...hence why TV’s had such an issue with true yellow until LED and QLED screens emerged into the market. Love the vids! I wish I was in the UK and id hands down spot your car cinematically as it is! 🤗🤗

Loving it and to be honest this looks to be a much deeper and dynamic yellow than the factory Solar Beam Yellow which I always found to be a bit flat.

White balance can be tough. You can color correct that green out pretty easily in FCP or Premiere. Great video as always. Enjoy Goodwood.
