1:13 The issue with that scene in stars is you have to understand what's going on to appreciate it and they don't really get across what's going on. You see from our frame of reference it looks slow. But as both ships were Constantly Accelerating! That chase was actually the fastest chase in star wars! See in space when you constantly accelerate you just keep getting faster. This is why the escape via small shuttle is genius. As soon as they are out of range and the bad guys realize they would have had to spend time slowing down. Obviously that plan doesn't work. But also it puts into context just how devetatingbthat hyperspace ram was. They were accelerating so long then hit something travellers the opposite direction at light or near lightspeed. When you understand the context the scene is pretty amazing. But folk were confused over why the bombers "dropped" the bombs and actually wondered in comment on RUclips why wind was blowing BB8 backwards in that boost scene... Iean you expect proper critisms when folk don't understand basic physics... No
I would suggest if you have trouble understanding to watch the expanse series or read the books. They do really go into detail about space combat and distances etc which would help to xplain why the star wars chase is fast despite appearing slow. The expanse does a much better job of explaining what's going on.

One of the other traits often used to differentiate Low and High fantasy is the prevalance and utility of magic. In Conan, for example, magic is very hard to do and only a handful of people can do it and it always takes big long ceremonies and rituals. In D&D, you still need to have the right talent or heritage but magic is pretty much just "point finger and say die" and it happens. LOTR splits the difference on this - the people who can do magic basically just do it, but you need to be some sort of more-than-human to pull off spellcasting at all, so it's not a perfect dividing line, but "easy and common magic" is still a common trope in High Fantasy. With this element in play, Star Wars is definitely high fantasy - there are space wizards all over the place - and I think 40K probably is, too, with the psychers. About tall military guards... On this one border crossing between South and North Korea, South Korea puts some its tallest guys there, and they're over six and a half feet tall in these big US state trooper aviator sunglasses, lookin tough, while on the other side are these pretty short North Koreans with old uniforms festooned and covered with medals.

On the issue of painters cramp, check out adjustable standing desks. When your feeling the ache you raise it up to standing height and carry on. Not used myself but I hear good things from some folks. Some even find they spend more time like this than sitting, depends on the activity.

They showed Flash Gordon at the cinema last year so I watched it again. So fun, great fun and a great soundtrack. Never ending story and the horse did it for me in my youth as far as sad ones go, for a more modern one; A man called Otto. Or the Swedish original A man called Ove.

Inside No. 9 S4 E2 Bernie Clifton's Dressing Room had me in tears, could not continue for several days
Brilliant episode. Very clever guys.
I saw castaway when I was 6 years old with my mum, I was a big Tom hanks fan with what movies I had seen him in , big, Toy Story, splash ect. When he realised that he had lost Wilson, that scene of him crying and the score kicks in, I bawled my eyes out.
😢
About tall military guards... On this one border crossing between South and North Korea, South Korea puts some its tallest guys there, and they're over six and a half feet tall in these big US state trooper aviator sunglasses, lookin tough, while on the other side are these pretty short North Koreans with old uniforms festooned and covered with medals.
Haven't watch this whole wonderful show through to the end, so maybe it crops up during the discussion, but there actually is a show called Best in Miniature, produced by CBS. It started last year and seems to have caught on with the general public, riding on the success of Lego Masters.
Oh Geoff, you’re a national treasure with that Jon Hamm/Toy Story reaction, and Charlize Theron . . . that says it all!
On the issue of painters cramp, check out adjustable standing desks. When your feeling the ache you raise it up to standing height and carry on. Not used myself but I hear good things from some folks. Some even find they spend more time like this than sitting, depends on the activity.
Ooh interesting, I’ll be checking that out for sure - Peachy
12:22 Peachy: Sounds like a Pirate! :D Haha! Arrrrrrrr! XD
Geoff: He kills his wife and child
For anyone looking for it, the short story that Peachy mentions is called The Fall of Malvolion and it is *bleak as hell* but a fantastic wee vignette of how terrifying a Tyranid invasion would be from a mortal perspective.
Thanks James, your a superstar 👍
@thepaintingphase no problem! Happy to help 🙂
They showed Flash Gordon at the cinema last year so I watched it again. So fun, great fun and a great soundtrack.
Never ending story and the horse did it for me in my youth as far as sad ones go, for a more modern one; A man called Otto. Or the Swedish original A man called Ove.
But the horse is alive again at the end so I've never quite understood the recent memes showing someone dressed as Atreyu at a comic-con with just a horses head as too much, clever, but folk shouldn't be triggered by it. pbs.twimg.com/media/EDiiWelXoAAGy3I.jpg
@@DaveWeston Ah yes, “the horse will be alive again later!” isn’t exactly what young me was thinking when watching this at the movies. ;)
Of what happens at comic cons and who is triggered by what I have no input. Didn’t know it had a resurgence, I’ve just been humming the song for 30 years or so. :D
I love Geoffs (Jeff?) Army stories. Also I demand a Bella cam
Looking forward to spot the peg!
