Just a minor correction: You mentioned that in the galaxy map, the different colored dots show which 'galaxies' you've visited. However all of these stars are our same galaxy. While the map is still labelled the 'galaxy' map, it's a map of our own galaxy.
Digipick locks tip: level that to max as quickly as you can. There is a certain skill level you hit that will turn the outer rings blue when you hover over the right combo. If you choose a combo that isn’t right it will be highlighted white. Hope that makes sense.

Just about to start this game, what should I start with build wise. Super intimidated to start. Thanks in advance man, recently injured my foot so Im ready to dig in to this on my series x, put a good weekend and week into this bad boy. But yeah, any tips? ( Robert Downey junior voice, tropic thunder)
90% of the gameplay in this game is locked behind ability points. Dont expect to be able to do much of anything until level 10. Especially if you go for a non specific general build. You cannot sneak, lockpick, boostpack, pickpocket or use ship thrusters without spending ability points to unlock them first.
I'm glad someone finally saw this. I didnt like the skill tree from its inception, but for SNEAKING and other BASIC gameplay features to be locked behind them? And worse, they are locked behind tiers of investment. To get some decent gun modding, you have to put 5 levels into Science. Spread this out between all the trees and you basically cant play your build until level 30 MINIMUM

This game is wild… I didn’t even think I’d like the game or it was even anything I’d be interested in. Now I’m hooked! The graphics are incredible, and just such a cool concept. Makes me feel incredibly small as a person in this galaxy. I think I messed up and went with the house option, and I can’t get together near enough credits to pay the mortgage on it. Be careful about tracking resources. It's very easy to do the research or toss the weapon you were tracking the mod for and now you're unable to clear that tracking anymore and have permanently flagged a material with a magnifying glass. Clear the tracking before you make/research till someone makes a mod that'll clear it.
Lots of good stuff for beginners. The den is good for contraband because they don't scan for contraband. The Trade Authority will always take stolen and contraband items, but big cities have the The Den is good because it has a Trade Authority and no scanners. If you're looking for money the theft + stealth are fantastic. Stealth lets you see if you're hidden while crouched, theft let's you pickpocket and security lets you open safes/doors, all good for stealing money, ammo, med packs, weapons, etc. You can make a lot of money early.
@TotalXclipse FYI there is only one extremely small part of The Milky Way galaxy represented in Starfield...the words you're looking for are solar system or star system not galaxy or galaxies. Our home galaxy The Milky Way is 87,400 light-years wide and the map in the game Starfield is only 100 light-years wide so it's impossible for there to be multiple galaxies in the game...

I wish I watched this video before I started playing Starfield. You saved me so much time and frustration with your tips. You are a legend, TotalXclipse!
On the point of contraband and illegal goods smuggling, it's worth to know that you should discover the Wolf system first before taking any contraband onto your person or ship. For some reason, I was unable to discover the Wolf system while I had contraband on my person, but afterwards I was free to bring contraband to the system.
“Galaxies” are literally hundreds of thousands of stars. A Star System is one star surrounded by many planets. It’s like calling every city you drive through it’s own country. There is a difference.
Excellent videos, intelligent, well paced and calm. You're on your way to becoming the next David Attenborough, except for referring to Star Systems as "Galaxies".

For #25, HOW are you getting the random garbage strewn around the ship to show up in the vendor's screen?? All it will show for me is what's specifically been put into the cargo hold. So if I wanted to sell all that stuff off, I would have to manually go around picking up everything and then dumping it into the cargo hold (and hoping it'll fit). Which is obviously a massive waste of time.
the thing i wish the game had was ways to save multiple charaters. like what borderland has. kinda wished i selected different traits/background now. but then again i'm just starting from 2 days of playing so not that high of lvl might just start over.
