Do you align the drum track from the ambient foyer room [by the parking lot] post, or keep the delay as is? Curious as to how you mix it in.
No I keep it.
New drum heads or just recent? Clear moon gels? Does anything direct your choice of drum heads? I've had Remo and Evans on my house kit and as a non drummer engineer, I liked the Evans for their "sameness" over time. Remos sing when the drummer is really good at tuning but the plat and grunk when they aren't. I can tune a drum to behave well and sound good individually but I can't tune a kit collectively.
Recent.
I like remo but QC is tough. Evans are very repeatable and predictable. Which is what I want in the studio.
