I was lucky enough to see this live. I went to vegan campout on my own. It's the line about anger that breaks Joey and breaks me. I have so much anger and I'm struggling to use it purposefully. It builds up and comes out as tears 😢.
Thank you for what you do Joey. You're my inspiration.
This is relatable. It sometimes causes me to isolate / become reclusive instead of wanting to drive into a heated exchange (especially as an introvert). What I've done is: I made my own private discord server with all the facts, videos, images I've compiled together. When someone brings it up, I pull out my phone and show it to them. Seeing is believing. They have a harder time arguing with it. Telling someone pigs die in gas chambers isn't as impactful as seeing pigs in gas chambers screaming and wreathing in their final moments. Find as many 'irrefutable & objective truths' as you can, verbal or visual and maintain a folder. You might have this in the UK too, but in Canada there's an activism group "Anonymous for the Voiceless" where people just wear masks and hold up TVs / footage. Some of the most powerful activism is non-verbal.

@@AaronMetallion great advice! Im doing this! I have always struggled to articulate verbally, particularly in a confrontational situation. I had selective mutism as a kid and so I understand what it is to be voiceless. I always felt more comfortable around animals than humans. The fire inside me is helping me find my voice. I have to speak up for them, the oppressed, exploited, abused. Being prepared with a file of facts is going to help me alot.
This has reawakened something inside me. There’s always something more I can do. We all have to spread this message. Thank you Joey.

Ive all ways been vegetarian my sis went vegan started pushing me to be vegan and was at a anti fracking protest and a vegan was there and pointed out the hypocrisy in eggs and milk and it was the last time i ever touched thats stuff been vegan for 10 years now and spent years standing up for the voiceless it used to do some work on organic beef farm in Derbyshire down helping mechanic farm maintenance ect and cats nagging giving the farmer name jay that was vegetarian ideas to to move on to more ethical ways of earning a living iam sure you heard about it i cryed when found out he find me the initiative to line up his actions with his heart such a nice guy he was his German wife was well German 😂

The fact that you think we hate cheeseburgers and nuggets just shows me you only see products, and not of the individuals who suffered and were murdered to get those products onto shelves. Can’t say I’m surprised, these industries hoodwinked us into thinking that innocent dead babies are food and it’s especially hard to recognize them when they are ground up and mashed in a nugget, burger, or sausage.

This. Was. Absolutely. Powerful. To be completely transparent, if I had to die to put a stop to the atrocity and the brutal ending of their lives, I would. Without hesitation. I'm doing all that I can to be a voice for the voiceless, and I won't stray. All life is precious, and dammit, I won't stop until each cage is empty. Big ups to you, Ed Winters, and every other activist fighting for the lives of these beautiful sentient beings.

I've been vegetarian for over 10 years. I thought I was "doing enough" ethically and never gave my position a second thought. As of this year I'm going vegan. It's thanks to people like you, Joey. The easiest and most effective way would be to organize weekly marches through cities. Then everyone can be an activist, changing public opinion through presence.
There are lots of effective ways, nobody knows what is most effective. Do something that is effective that you can do consistently and we move mountains.

A guy came by to change my car battery today and we ended up chatting & somehow veganism came up. Yeah, it was probably me. Anyway, we ended up talking about the full range of info and I gave him a bunch of pointers to sites and apps like Happy Cow and companies like Navitas and stats about cutting diabetes after he mentioned that. I told him the definition of veganism is an ethical stance against all cruelty to animals. How the amazing food and healthy diet that slashes disease risk is just a bonus. How only universal veganism can save the biosphere since it’s 1/3 of all climate change gasses. He was stoked to hear all of it and said alot of his wife’s girlfriends are vegan and that he appreciated my passion and was going to look into a lot of the info. Score one for a vegan follower of Joey Carbstrong!

I’m struggling a lot with my life situation and mental illnesses but I still manage to fight for the animals. I now do activism on a regular basis, and I still don’t feel like I’m doing enough, so I’m going to step it up a BIG notch.
No matter how much my family says it’s “ridiculous, forceful and preachy” I WILL keep going for the animals! And I will never stop!

I also saw Gary Yourofsky's speech 6 years ago and I've been a vegan activist ever since. I still visit that speech from time to time to remember what I'm fighting for. I am not vegan. I didn't even know what a vegan was until a couple years ago when I watched one attack someone in a park for fishing. I was very offended. I started researching veganism, and was personally attack by them, so I started attacking vegans in return because I was angry. I started watching videos just to picking fights. One of my most common statements was that "when food get scarce, vegans are an all natural grain fed alternative. Run little sheep run". I still find it funny, but I am sorry for the anger I had, and if you have been in a conversation with me then know it was me, not you.
I still do not believe veganism long term will work. however, I can not deny the health benefits, or the horrible animal cruelty of industrialization. I do care greatly for all animals. So I continue down the rabbit whole. Veganism still keeps me interested in the videos and I am now a constant follower of Joey. Thank you Joey for what you do, and the manor in which you conduct yourself.
I am changing. I find myself when given an option I always opt for vegan products like plant based leather. If figure every little bit matters. My diet is changing as well. I eat less and less meat. I find myself going for oat milk creamers and prefer it over cow milk. I do soy and almond milk on regular. I like the no cooking diet. I started growing all my own vegetables. My friends at work even joke that I am vegan (they know I am not). I try all kinds of plant based meat alternatives. Some suck so bad, some are really good, and some I still have to watch fat content. I also try to sway people towards more vegan alternatives, as it is better for the environment. I am all about reducing my carbon footprint. I would also like to see and end to industrial farming, and the cruel treatment of animals.
I can not agree with veganism in its entirety, and some of you will attack me for being a meat eater, even still I want you to know that even if you can not convert everyone. I've been feeling complacent lately, 100%... perfect timing Joey for something like this. I've tried so hard to get my friends and family to go vegan with luck to change 3 people's minds... unfortunately one decided to stop eating vegan. It has discouraged me a lot between that person and all the people who still ignore me.
It's so hard to be surrounded with people who just don't seem to care and lately I have just been not saying anything.
When I do speak about veganism it comes out angry or annoyed. It blows my mind that there are still so many people out there that don't even know what vegan means.

I've thought it as well, in fact it made me think about the idea of using movie projectors to project slaughterhouse footage onto big buildings from a hidden location. It might take a bit to find where it's coming from and by that point a lot of people have seen it and maybe shared it on social media if it's a busy spot
I think eventually it will become too well known how badly animals are treated to make food and clothing etc, it's a truth that can't be kept under wraps forever. But for now it's about getting the truth out to as many people as possible using whatever means we can come up with
Another idea: In a supermarket, take over the announcement mic and play "This is the sound of the dairy industry" and then screaming and the sounds of animal abuse.
