Excellent footage of a fascinating and beautiful Seiko, alongside a second and equally beautiful Seiko! I'm a big fan of the tonneau/turtle case shape and the 4006-7000 doesn't disappoint. Thanks!
These things are so cool and surprisingly cheap, definitely going to pick up a decent condition one. I'm a sucker for vintage watches with unique features like this, though I definitely wouldn't rely on the alarm to actually wake me up so if I were to use it I would set a backup alarm on my phone for sure. One of the many benefits of being into watches these days is that they don't really have to be reliable in any way anymore 😄
On the Seiko 5, the crown is pushed in like a button to change the day of the week, maybe this would be the same instead of winding the time forward till the day of the week and the date rolls over. I had bought my Seiko 5 from a display counter so the clerk packed it in the wrong Seiko box and wrong manual so I did not know that the Seiko 5 advanced the day of the week by just pushing the crown in like a button and for years I just advanced the time to change the day of the week as you just did. I think you should try just pushing the crown in like a button to see if the day of the week changes as it would on a Seiko 5.
Hi Matt. The lug width for the spring bars and strap is 18mm on both models in the video. I don't have any other Bell-Matics so some might be different, but most of them are probably 18mm too.
Ciao. Gli svegliarini Bellmatic sono bellissimi. Io ne ho u a decina, di cui 3 con 27 jewels ( uno di questi datejust, prodotto un solo anno tra il 68 ed il 69).
Very interesting, seiko vintage catalogue is full of hidden gems.
Yes, I agree! I'm still discovering cool watches I've never seen before.

Beautiful watch! Is the alarm able to be silenced before it finishes ringing on its own?
Excellent video, thank you! :)
You're welcome!

Good suggestion. I didn't think to try but I just had a go and sadly the crown on both my Bell Matics doesn't push in.
Thank you
You're welcome 🙂
What size spring bar/strap is the bellmatic?

Such a cool watch
Thank you Captain!
